Hello

a bit of my environment

EBS 11.5.10 + HP - UX 11.11 (application server test node)
Oracle 10.2.0.4 + HP UX 11.13 (DB node)

I recently applied patches to load on my PROD, because of which balancer

My discoverer starts giving problems

It is already at a level of old (4i)

NW my quetsion is

can I install existing Oracle BI on the application node and run discoverer independtly?

Hello

You, you can use another user for your new home of oracle, or you can use the Oracle user for the same installation. If you choose to use the same user, then you will need the following
-all the uncommenct you approx. e.g. variable sid of user at home,.
-you will need to make een scripts to aliases that will mention the ORACLE_HOME right you willneed. ex if you need to go to the EBS, DB, or Disco, you just need to say to the ebs, db or Disco. You can switch automatically. the ORACLE_HOME right.
If you need dample of these aliases just let me know.

Have a great day,
Respectfully,.
Hamdy

  • Oracle Application Server 10g R3 with patch set 10.1.3.5.0

    Hi all

Can someone help me on this point, when I install Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.1.0) and patch set 10.1.3.5.0 on Linux. I'm not able to find the container forms and reports.

This version does not support forms and the States or I go what OAS 10 g R2 (10.1.2.0.2) with the patch set 3 (10.1.2.3.0). What is the difference between these two versions.

    Please help me.

    Kind regards

    Hi James,

First of all forms and reports are only available in OAS 10 g 2 (10.1.2.0.2) and you would go to the latest version in gr 10, 2 which is 10.1.2.3.

The Oracle Application Server 10 g 3 version is a limited edition and SOA and OC4J components.

So if you need to forms and reports, you must make 10 gr 2 OAS.

    Kind regards

  • Discoverer and application server 10g R2.

    Hi all.

I installed the application server with the discoverer, but I found no dicoverer it
It is nothing else but a batch file.
Please guide me what should I do?

    Hello
Do you have what version of the application server installed? Not only 10g but you install 10.1.2.0.0 and 10.1.2.2 or 10.1.2.3, patch or have you installed a different version of basic?

Discoverer 10 g R2 will be available if you use the application 10.1.2.0.0 Server and then patch 10.1.2.2 or 10.1.2.3. If you have installed a different version of the application server you won't have the engine installed discoverer.

To test simply launch a browser and call the URL for the home page of the server like this: http://yourserver.yourdomain:7778

If the discoverer is installed you will see links to launch more Discoverer and Discoverer Viewer. You can also try to call direct using Discoverer: discoverer/more/http://yourserver.yourdomain:7778 or http://yourserver.yourdomain:7778/discoverer Viewer

Another way to see if the discoverer components are installed is to locate the root for the ORACLE_HOME in which the application server has been installed. From there, if you have discoverer, you will see an ORACLE_HOME\discoverer with Sub-folders folder of config, deploy, lib, newspapers, mesg, doc, plus_files, secure and util.

In addition, if you browse here: ORACLE_HOME\j2ee\OC4J_BI_Forms\applications you should see a folder called discoverer

If you can't find the files above, you have installed an application server which does not support the discoverer. You will need to uninstall it and then install 10.1.2.0.0 and it patch. Thank you

Well, everything you see on this page are different for different components of the OAS 10g Release 3.

Before you download one in particular, I would say that you read on what item are you looking from where it would be suitable to your needs.
Web Center (Suite, framework, Interaction etc.) is such a component, which is the category of CM and Web 2.0 applications and User Interaction.

  • Oracle Application Server 10g cloning - Urgent

    Hi all
I received a new assignment, which involves Oracle 10g application server, I am new to oracle application server and hoping that someone will specify please my doubts.

I clone a production machine (Solaris 10), which has oracle 10 g, this machine was Oracle database 10g before and just the application server has been installed on this subject, I need to clone a test environment for this machine, I have two following doubts

    (1) is it possible to install just Oracle Application server 10 g on a computer that already contains the database oracle 10 g, in the affirmative, whereas on the database that is installed when you install the Oracle 10 g application server.

    (2) how to clone the machine of production above, the oracle 10 g database can we clone first, and then the application oracle 10 g cloned on the new server machine?

    A response with impatience

    (1) Yes, it is possible. The DB that comes with the OAS, as DB infrastructure for it (I assume that you install a full OAS with infrastructure and environments times) does not affect the DB that you already have on your system... of course... as long as install you them in their separate homes.

    (2) I always say, the term cloning is used a bit loosely, in the sense of general communication making copies. In the context of the OAS, cloning works for middletiers only. You can't clone an infrastructure.

To make an alternate/redundant environment for the OAS, you can proceed as follows:
(- a) is using the same infra on computer 1 and install another high and register with the same infra.
    (b) or to install another infra on machine 2, and also an environments registered with it.

Here for the first option (a), cloning can be used because you can (* only *) clone an intermediate layer. There are advantages and disadvantages of this facility, including that you share the SSO and OID, and therefore the users and the groups of bases, etc. on these two environments - something you can or don't want to. But then, there are also a few outputs so as to avoid or minimize their effects too. Please see the following reference for cloning and research on Metalink to minimize the effects, once you get more familiar with the process.

The Oracle® Application Server Administration Guide

[Cloning 10 Application staging server Instances | http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/core.1012/b13995/cloning.htm#BCGBDIDF]

For (b), you will need to step a server as defined in the present reference.
    [11 staged from a Test to a Production environment | http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/core.1012/b13995/prodtest.htm]

There are a few notes on Metalink related questions about benefits or procedures for cloning and staging of an environment too.
There are other ways for export/transport your applications to another instance through DB. Please also read about them.

    hope that helps!

I was wondering if anyone knows if this is possible or supported to run SOA Suite on Oracle Application Server 10 g R3?

I couldn't find specific details on the application servers supported for SOA Suite 11 g. The only information I found is to license non - Oracle Application Server and some Oracle advertising indicating details:

"To ensure that customers extract the most value from their existing COMPUTING investments, Oracle SOA Suite 11 g is designed to take care of servers non-Oracle application, including IBM WebSphere, Oracle WebLogic Server, RedHat JBoss and Oracle."

It is not possible to install a new 10g AS server and use for forms/States. You can use the other features of 10gAS and integrate it to R12 as explained in these documents.

    Tom,

-How will I know if EBS r12 12.0.6 using the EJB or not?

In my view, it is not applicable to the installation of R12, you can omit this step. If you have a stand-alone server Oracle AS10g and you must apply this hotfix, you must then check if the EJB is used or not.

  • Doubt in Oracle application server presse3

    Hello
I am new to Oracle Application Server 10g. I heard that in Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3 its come up with default SSL where, in version 2 its comes with with SSL config by default. is it true tell me please. If so how do I remove the ssl in release 3 as I've tried to install products Hyperion Oracle Application server facing some problems with SSL on top.

    Concerning
    Woodline

OK, now, the question will be if you where able to access before?

You can try to start the application of the ASCONTROL in this way.

opmnctl startproc process-type = application OC4J_Admin = ascontro of course that OC4J_Admin must be the name of your console configured as a container for administration. If you do not have this at the time of installation (check box when you ask to oc4jadmin password) you can not install it after installing the hole product. to check that you have installed ascontrol application, go to $ORACLEHOME/j2ee/youroc4j/applications/and find the ascontrol folder, if you do not, you will not be able to access.

    Greetings.

Default password for user 'oc4jadmin! I'm not aware of this user in 10.1.2.x, maybe there's one of OC4J side but not otherwise. If you are looking for credentials to connect to OracleAS controls (EM), the username is "ias_admin" and password is the one you specified during the installation. There is no default password.
