Application virtualization

Hello

does anyone know if there is problem using Microsoft App - v or THINAPP (vmware) on professional P6 EPPM 8.3.5 for?

I looked in the tested configurations file but there are only Citrix XenApp and Secure Global Desktop...

Thank you

ALE

ALE,

I realize this is an old post and probably dead, but for those of you who use Google... Yes P6 EPPM Professional 8.x and more aged (5,6,7) work on Microsoft App - v or VMWare ThinApp.  I helped the application virtualization first install P6v7 on SoftGrid (now MS AppV) who was on their Citrix server.  Worked flawlessly.  I recommend this type of installation where your business is highly dependent on many versions of Java.  It's also great help to consolidate the servers up and running 24/7.  Thing neat about ThinApp... you can encapsulate your application in an environment virtual app and put it on a USB key.  Plugin the thumbdrive in any machine and you can run your application from the Flash DRIVE without any installation.

Thank you

  • installation of FF breaks Microsoft Application Virtualization Client with XULRunner error!

We have a document management major (Java-based) program to work. It works through virtualization: "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Microsoft Application Virtualization Client\sfttray.exe" / launch "Cosa 18.0.0.4752.

When I try to run the program once I installed FF I get a XULRunner error: error: platform version ' 18.0 ' is not compatible with minVersion > = 19.0.2 maxVersion < = 19.0.2.» After that, the program does any launch. When I uninstall FF, it works again. I installed as standard IE browser.

I tried to install XULRunner 19.0.2. But being a noob, rather, it does not appear to be installed as a program. And it shouldn't be part of FF offshore already? I have the latest version of FF! Operating system is Win7 64 b.

What should do? I think it's weird that client virtualization is suddenly pointing to the installation of FF.

I solved the problem! On a co-workers computer, I noticed the firefox.exe process. She has not installed ff. Apparently, the document management program is actually a full-screen, the package based on a browser, using FF.

When I installed FF 19.0.2 it conflicted with virtualization, running version 18. I lowered my install FF at 18.0. The document management program now embarks on a new tab, no errors.

  • Distribution with Microsoft Application Virtualization (App - V)

I am a member of staff at the campus of the University of Wisconsin Madison.  This summer we're finally at the migration using the distribution system network from Novell to Microsoft Application Virtualization (App - V, formerly Softgrid).  We combine that with a network for each student and FlexLM licenses share in order for students to migrate computer from one laboratory to the other without losing access to their records.

When you try to install LabVIEW SignalExpress, all applications seem to work perfectly on the sequencing computer.  However, when we try to run the programs on a lab machine, SignalExpress does not launch.  It indicates a configuration error and that reinstalling the software may fix the problem.  We brought the SignalExpress question only (as we have done installation custom and made sure the ONLY selected product has been the SignalExpress and nothing else - no additional options, or any of the other available programs).

I was wondering if anyone has any success in the SignalExpress with App - V distribution?

    Hello

Yes, it's very likely the explanation - you can get pictures of the software, but not of device drivers.

  • Options for Sparc application virtualization?

    Hello

Are there decent options for Sparc/workloads application virtualization?

We have an oracle database, Sun Sparc system expired support and due to problems endian cannot be directly run on x 86 oracle instances...

    Other ideas welcome!

    Thank you

There was a product by a company called Transitive who did some fancy online emulation to again convert Sparc instructions to x 86 and back, to allow the operation of native sparc based applications on linux Redhard.

The company was acquired by IBM about 18 months ago so as starter for ten, my first port of call would be to IBM to see what became of the software.

I can, also, that it really worked.

  • Microsoft Application Virtualization (APP - V) and Citrix

Our company has creative cloud for teams and I'm trying to deploy the application using Microsoft App - v and Citrix Xenapp.

I followed the instructions to create a package for InDesign. I used this package to sequence the application App - v. Successfully, I can publish the application on our Xenapp server and deploy the application through Citrix.

The problem I have is when the application is launched through Citrix, the user is presented with a screen that indicates the license has expired and offers the possibility to buy, to run the test or goto the creative cloud login screen. If you click on the button to open a session, you can connect on creative cloud and the application runs as expected.

What I need if for the purposes of presenting only the logon screen without having to click on the license error screen.

A someone has encountered this problem and found a fix for this problem?

    Thank you

    Derek

It took a bit of debug licenses Adobe purchasing process, but we have found a solution.

When you open a session to creative cloud, a set of license information files are created for your login to c:\program files (x 86) \Common Files\Adobe\SLCache. We found that, if these files are deleted from the App - V package after sequencing, but before creating a final package, the software will ask correctly you for connection instead of bring a license expire message.

When adding the procedure described on the technet forum I could successfully the entire sequence and deploy it in a citrix environment.

  • Question/problem of isolation of application

    Hi all

I have a few questions about the creation of a pit file. And the question is, is the right way to do it?

I installed a software on a server in my area, this server is Server RDS no.. the software on this server must be isolated (it cannot be packeged :-()

Now, I want to start this software on my RDS Server.

So I'm trying to create a gap, but after setting the connectivity settings, I get a timeout... used this self-inflating cushion: https://support.quest.com/SolutionDetail.aspx?id=SOL84248

What is the best way to isolate a peace of software?

Sander, the .pit file is simply a text file that contains information for a vWorkspace connector to connect to a published application or a desktop. And the application you want to run must be installed on a server RDSH or a VDI instance. Based on the information contained in your message above, including application virtualization are not an option, there are two ways to isolate the application

1 silo on a single server RDSH or a RDSH server group and post it to your users.

    2. install on win7 in vWorkspace farm bureau group and publish it on your users on your RDSH servers (this is commonly called a scenario double jump)

    Hope that helps,

  • Deploy applications on the linked clones

    Hello

I want to deploy applications to our SCCM server at our VDI Windows XP machines

If I do a redial or refresh the requests of course will disappear.

So, I think, if I've never done a refresh or redial this will work.

I will make sure patches as well.

What is the right way to do it? or clones will grow so big, I can just as well use complete clones?

    Stefan.

    It's a small world... ;-)

Well yes it does, which is why we recommend to use some sort of application virtualization to bring the request to the desktop in a very efficient way, a very good one is actually included in the original notice of license. (hint, hint...)

  • That gives students access to applications

Hello everyone. I'm new to VMware and I have some questions regarding to

which VMware product I should look like a solution for my needs.

I work at a University that is moving towards a mobile computing environment.

At some point, we expect all our students to own a laptop/notebook computer. Laptops

will be used for school work or personal use. When we come to this point

where all students have a laptop, we plan on closing the computer

    laboratories, we have on campus.

The impact of this is, students will lose access to applications

that were available in the laboratories. This includes applications such as SPSS,

    SAM 2003, Studio 9, etc.

As a solution, we wondered if we could 'push' these applications to the

laptops. These applications must be available 24/7, so that students

    are on campus.

What product VMware can help us to do this? Thin client, fat client? How well

will it work on wireless network? We have capable n access points.

    Thank you.

    Cindy.

Welcome to the Forums - you have two roads to go - Application Virtualization where you virtualize just the application - this would be ThinApp http://www.vmware.com/products/thinapp/ or desktop virtualization where you virtualize the entire desktop and use a client access ot an Office safe - this is VMware View - http://www.vmware.com/products/view/

If a customer is already using a VPN infrastructure, HP workspace does not eliminate the need for a virtual private network, since HP Workspace application virtualization Server servers might need access through the VPN. HP offer a service added to a VPN integration for HP customers workspace which may require it. For purchase details, please contact your authorized HP or HP account.

  • Qosmio X 500 - 10W: old software with Windows 7 Home Premium

    Hello

First excuse my bad English, I'm french.

    A month ago, I bought an X 500 - 10W.

I would like to re - install two old games that turned on my satellite M30-104 with windows Xp.

I just can not install those on the Qosmio that works with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, even if I use the compatibility mode.

Is there a way to make these ancient works of software?

I found the virtual computer (for windows Xp mode), but it only works with Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate.

    Thanks for your replies.

This with virtual PC is good idea and you should get the right version.
I mean if you have games that are designed for Windows XP Home edition, then you know that this will not work on the new operating system to Win7.

Best application virtualization for me without a doubt is VMware Workstation > http://www.vmware.com/

Although xp is certainly get gradually, creating applications on the current

In what concerns the CD lost, if the pc is shipped with xp, then contact the mfg, if she

If you have Microsoft Office 2010, which is the creation of the Q drive. It uses Application Virtualization (App - V) technology which requires the creation of a virtual disk. By default, the drive letter for this virtual drive is q in some systems, it may substitute the letter R Q.
