• Can I perform an action on all open files?

  I'm converting some of my images in grayscale with action. The images are divided in hundreds of cases, and only some of the images need to be converted.   You can change the initial view by default for individual PDF documents preferences under ' file > properties > initial view.

  However, the General properties for all documents can be set under "Edit > Preferences > Page display.

  Once again, in my work, I have to change in several files to the size and type of specific measures:

  -in the preferences "units and increments:

  thumbs to milimiters

  I'm not aware of a shortcut 'universal' to close all open files, but check out a few ideas below:

  • If the files that you want to close are part of the same program (Word, or folders, files etc), they will be grouped in the taskbar. You can right click on the taskbar icon, and then selectclose all Windows.
  • I found that the CTRL + W is very convenient to close open tabs or even some windows such as Windows Explorer Windows, as well as the traditional ALT + F4 shortcut. In some applications (for example, Visual Studio), then CTRL + F4 closed a file opened without leaving the application.  When I have a lot of things to close, I use these soldiers to accomplish the task more quickly.
  • If minimize all work instead to close all windows, you can try the Windows key + "D".

• How to copy FrameMaker Master Pages to all the files in a book?

  I created a page template master for a title page that I want now apply to all the files in my collection of books (about 5 books, files + 30).  How can I do this?

  The page has a picture full page and different margins.

  I would like to try force brute (re-create manually in each file) but it's almost a stroke of luck that I managed to do things at first.

  There is an inconsistency in the 'traditional' in the name: Master Pages are called "Layouts" in the import Formats dialog box.

• Repair / replacement of related files by using "Apply to all"

  I changed the name of three files before opening a document that each of these three files used six times a piece.

  When you open the file, I have met with a dialog box indicating that the file did not the renamed files. (I waited and wanted it).

  I selected the check box 'Apply to all' and relinked files, expecting to select each file once, and let the computer do the rest, but I ended up having to recreate a link to each of the eighteen files individually. It made no difference that I clicked on 'Repair' or 'Replace' after selecting the check box.

  Anyone know why the box 'Apply to all' does not work properly?

  The behavior is "as planned", I can say. HAVE preserved the name of the original file, transforming each duplicate in a separate object. There is no replacement for real instantiation and punctual. Apply it to all the option never works, if you move the files to a different location, but don't rename them, at least from my experience. It may have been intended to operate differently in the long and dark past AI, but if so, it's now an obsolete feature...

• FrameMaker template not applied to all files

  I traced a FrameMaker template to apply to a book of FrameMaker on import in a RoboHelp project. I use the model to apply automatic numbering for paragraph formats and define conditional text settings. The model is applied successfully to all FrameMaker files except one. And until my last importation, it has been applied successfully to all files.

  I looked at the file RHFrameDocs.apj, and I don't see any problems with it. I tried to re-import the entire book and file problem several times, but I still having the same problem.

  Has anyone else had similar problems? Is there a work around?

  I use Technical Communication Suite 2 with the latest patches.

  I would like to try two things... first of all, clean something strange in the FM file by saving the MIF, opening the file and saving as. FM.

  Did you ever reinstalled your OS from Vista running on your system?  If you have a Windows Vista OEM preinstalled on your system and you have an external hard drive, it wouldn't hurt to go back to factory settings and transfer your data on.  You would eliminate several possible culprits in your system running slow.
