Satellite U940 - fan of strong cooling after Windows 8.1 update

Hello

I have a month old Satellite U945-S4390 and I started to have this problem after the upgrade to Windows 8.1 a few days ago.

I started windows 8, and the fan returned to be quiet.
When I reinstalled windows fan 8.1the began once more to be strong.

I am convinced that it is a matter of 8.1 for Windows (at least for me).

Anyone else having this problem? All proposed the solution?

> I started windows 8, and the fan returned to be quiet.
> When I reinstalled windows fan 8.1the began once more to be strong.

After winning 8.1 update, you must install all drivers and utilities Toshiba as a pilot system of Toshiba in the right order.
The Toshiba driver page provides installation instructions for all models of 8.1supported Win.
Installing these drivers is very important about the functionality of good laptop

  • Satellite U940 - BT does not work after update from BT Stack

    Hello

The bluetooth in my U940 Satellite with Windows 8, 1-update stopped working properly after I updated the Bluetooth Stack version: v9.10.32T because one of the programs pre-installed Toshiba told me to do.

The option of connection / disconnection of Bluetooth in windows discovers tiles disappeared. There is no information on the bluetooth it more.

Bluetooth seems to be installed and when I try to pair a bluetooth Toshiba bluetooth speaker Manager opens (until I could only connect the windows bluetooth devices). The connection with the speaker sometimes is done properly, but after you connect and reconnect the audio speaker is not passed over.

I tried to reinstall the battery Bluetooth and then trying with an older version, but nothing works.
Also, I tried to reinstall the filter of Bluetooth driver Package (bfdp - 20131011123106.zip), but the installation does not start when the files are extracted.

Can someone help me to fix it?
    Thank you

PS: The laptop is still under warranty, could it be refunded?

    Very quick and good solution.
The key is that you can use BT again.

  • Satellite P850 almost nothing works correctly after Windows update 8.1.

Model: Toshiba Satellite P 850 part number: PSPKFV-00H002AR

Machine is purchased in UAE (United Arab Emirates) UNITED with Windows 8 installed at the factory. Doesn't have a 3d screen. Doesn't have the capacity of Blu ray.

I have the following problems: most of the stuff does not work properly after that I updated to Windows 8.1 Although I followed the manual of Toshiba.

Some of the function Fn keys do not work.

Eco button does not work (even if it does not work in Windows 8 also)

Accelerator drive HARD does not work. says "caching works correctly", but when I go into the history of the use it has not been used since the day wherever I've updated to 8.1 Windows

There is NO driver for the built in LAN card (manufacturer Realtek)

The following solution is possible: uninstall all the drivers/utilities Toshiba and registry clean (with backup of course)

Go to download Toshiba Driver and select the 64-bit Windows 8 operating system (I guess that's for computers with pre installed Win 8.1 at the factory?)

Download any supplied drivers and see if everything works.

(I always download my drivers on Toshiba EU website (no question of machine is bought from UNITED Arab Emirates) because I don't see any difference in the files and Toshiba MEA Middle East and Asia Web site is slow and does not work most of the time.)

Also is there a manual with good order with installing the drivers? I guess that's something like Chipset driver > driver for Toshiba system > Toshiba flash cards Manager > then all the Toshiba Utilities > drivers for LAN, WLAN, sound, video, fingerprint reader?

And one last question made Office Toshiba assist include the last HARD disk Accelerator utility? If not, where can I download the latest version of work for my model/brand computer laptop that works with Windows 8.1?

    null

    > Some of the function Fn keys do not work.

To get all the keys FN works, installation of all Windows 8.1 tools is very important.
Tools such as: * System Toshiba Toshiba function key utility, utility Support Flash Cards, driver *.
You must look for each driver in the Windows 8.1 update 8.1 Windows 64 bit box

    > Eco button does not work (even if it does not work in Windows 8 also)
You need to update/install the Eco Utility for Windows 8.1 update

    > Drive HARD Accelerator is not work says of "caching works correctly", but when I go into the history of the use it has not been used since the day where I've updated to 8.1 Windows

Have you installed the utilities of the accelerometer and HDD Protection Utility for Windows 8.1 64bits?
Where n t, the mentioned tools are located in the area of 64-bit Windows 8.1

    > There is NO driver for the built in LAN card (manufacturer Realtek)
It's the same local network as for Windows 8

  • Satellite Pro C850 - problems with WiFi after Windows update 8.1

    Hello

I was wondering if someone could give some advice on a problem I have.

Had an adjustable C850 Pro for a few months and worked well on Windows 8.
I myself am then harassed and intimidated by Microsoft Update in order to install Windows 8.1 and in a moment of weakness, I succumbed (got sick of the nagging).

Since that time, my wifi is very intermittent; either I'm on another computer write this and the laptop is essentially not connected to the internet.

For some reason any (although I didn't try it before), I can not connect via ethernet either, so I think it's probably the driver problems. (I also tried to connect the public wifi but fails).

I tried to install the driver WiFi Toshiba 8.1 but that has not solved the problem.
Then I noticed that I'm supposed to install a bunch of drivers in the order.

Maximum setting to do it, but the first package (associated with bluetooth) said I have to remove the current driver... I try by "turning off", then "Uninstall" but 8.1 seems to re - install automatically and I don't know how to disable this option (I can try to delete the driver file, I guess, but I'm sure 8.1 covered too and will probably launch a drone to try me out ", if I do). *

Any kind soul there suggestions on a way forward? Pls.

I see in the instructions of Toshiba Windows Update 8.1 should I have uninstalled the drivers before the update, but there is not much I can do about it now. :(

    Hello

    > I don't see in the instructions of Toshiba Windows Update 8.1 should I have uninstalled the drivers before the update, but there is not much I can do about it now
All your problems with the Windows 8.1 update related to the fact that you have not upgraded the Windows 8.1 system as recommended by Toshiba.

    Details:
    http://www.Toshiba.EU/innovation/generic/windows8_1-message/

    Solution?
Back to Windows 8 (reset the system back to factory settings)
Then, install all updates and patches for Windows 8 and follow along with the upgrade of system as described on the Toshiba Windows 8.1 upgrade page

On the page of the Toshiba UE driver, you will find all the instruments that must be installed in the correct order and Windows 8.1 driver!

  • Driver problem Audio IDT high definition (HD) after windows 8.1 update 1.

Hello. I have HP Probook s 4730. After you install the update to Windows 8.1 1 the audio driver has stopped working properly. When I want to play some music or even video system sounds, noise appears after 1-2 minutes. At that time, disk use is 100% cause of isolation of graph for the device windows audio. I installed this driver Audio IDT high definition (HD) on the support site for the driver of HP, but it does not work. As I see it in the device manager driver release date is 24.10.2012. I think it's too old for Windows 8.1. Can you help me? Y at - it another more recent version of this audio driver? Also I send only two pictures where are drive HARD use and driver release date.

I found a solution to our problem! I installed this driver Windows 7 in compatibility mode. You must remove this one for Windows 8.1 in programs and features, then download this version I have already mentioned, sole extract in a place where you want and install with compatibility mode. To do this, you must enter the configuration properties, then compatibility mode and select Windows 7, also check "Run this program as Administrator". This driver works fine for me. Hope you enjoy it also.

  • Audio not working do not after Windows 8.1 update

    Hello

A few days ago that I have updated Windows 8.1 evaluation to the full version 8.1 and since then my audio doesn't work. In Control Panel, "Digital Audio display (AMD high definition Audio Device)" is listed as disconnected. The audio icon on the taskbar is XE out and clicking on it works the finder error in vain. Speakers no longer appear in the list of devices well now that nothing works I don't know if they have ever or if the audio comes through display Digital Audio. Headphones do not present as playback device and the volume on the keyboard controls and the taskbar are not accessible. I've never used external speakers.

Windows 8.1 update seemed to wipe all my software HP and AMD came with the laptop so I reinstalled the HP support center and looked for a driver updated and all that jive, but all also shows to date. I don't know what else to look for because most of the forums I've seen seem to speak of their output HDMI sound does not work when it is connected to a TV and I just try to have sound, period.

    Hi Chris,

    Try the following.

Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp59501-60000/sp59861.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  If you see a very similar entry for (or entry of IDT) IDT HD Audio , right click on the device and select uninstall - you should also get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.  If there is no input IDT, go just below.

When you're done, shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

Allow Windows to fully - charge it will automatically load an audio driver, but let just this complete.  Then open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  'Speakers and headphones' left click once to highlight, and then click the Set Default button - check if you now audio.

    Kind regards

I did a new install of Win 7 pro 64-bit, and after it does not my fan, not at the start or in Windows. To check if it the fan itself was broken I re-installed Vista instead and the fan worked again!

You have also installed all the Toshiba drivers Toshiba value added package (includes the Toshiba power saver tool)?

    Hello

After updating my P300 to Windows 7 (32 bit) my microphone did not work. I understand that the MIC is part of the camera, but I can't find the driver for Windows 7 32-bit update with. The camera works fine.

There is a similar topics that allows you to download the driver directly, but after looking at the Toshiba Australia and toshiba europe sites, I have not been able to find.

Anyone know where I can find this driver?

    Thank you.

    Hi stelth_turtle,

You can try the 32-bit driver for Vista from Toshiba Australian page. Usually this driver also works on Windows 7 because Vista and Windows 7 are very similar, so it would be worth to try and install the 32-bit driver for Vista.

If it doesn t work take a look for Satellite P500 drivers. On the Australian page, I saw a 32-bit Windows 7 driver for this model and I guess this should also work on your P300.

  • Satellite L650 - Fan not kick (work) after the fashion 'sleep'

The fan does not work when you restart the standby mode, but only after complete closure.
What causes this and how can I solve this problem?
    Toshiba L650 - 170 system unit

    Thank you!

    A number of questions:
Have you noticed the fan operating with the preinstalled Toshiba system problem?
Have you noticed this first day of purchase?

The Satellite A660 is a little old and already abandoned the model and therefore, it would be interesting to know if something has changed in the past

Anyway, there are different modes of sleep (sleep is divided into four States, S1 to S4)

S1, to suspend him (POS): all processor caches are flushed, and the CPU stops the execution of the instructions. The power of the CPU and RAM is maintained. Devices that do not indicate that they must remain lit, can be turned off.

S2: CPU power off. Dirty cache is emptied to the RAM.

S3, commonly known as secondary, sleep or Suspend to RAM (STR): RAM remains powered.

S4, hibernation or Suspend to Disk: all content of main memory is stored in a nonvolatile memory such as a hard drive and is turned off.

Using the Powercfg command you will be able to check this "standby" and might it change too.
    Details here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Powercfg
It would be interesting to know how "sleep" you use exactly and if the fan would be using a "sleep" mode

  • Satellite U400 - fan is always on in Windows

    Hello

I have the same problem on U400. Tried what MasterG suggested but it did not help...

I've got dual boot Windows 7 pro / Ubuntu 9.10 into Ubuntu fan starts when the temperature is more work then 69 ° C and stop at 55 ° C. But in Windows, temperatures are around 40 ° C and the fan is always on, even on battery.

    This is quite annoying...

    Hello

Which means that on Windows your fan doesn t work as usual?
Well, first of all it s always advisable to clean the cooling fans using a jet of compressed air. This could blow the dust of fans cooling and, therefore, it of not necessary to disassemble the laptop.
    Check this box!

Have you installed Toshiba Value added Package? If you install it, you can switch between a maximum Performance and battery optimized in Windows power management. You can play around with these settings.

Using 64-bit or 32-bit OS? AFAIK for U400 there are different versions of BIOS. This means one for 32-bit and one for 64-bit.
