  I get an error message that "a SQL error has occurred. For more details, please see your system log. Error in running because the SQL query is 972. Message = ORA-00972 identifier is too long (50 380)

  I would recommend using BOX WHEN if you're on an Oracle database.  Something like:

  O.K. I think I should explain what I mean:
  
  When you join two tables that have many entries sometimes there're better is not to use an index on the column that is used as a criterion to join.
  
  I have two tables: table A and table B.
  
  Table A has 4,000,000 entries and table B has 700,000 entries.
  
  I have a join of two tables with a numeric column as join criteria.
  
  There is an index on this column in A table.
  
  So I instead of
  

    where (A.col = B.col)

  I want to use
  

    where (A.col+0 = B.col)

  in order to avoid Oracle using the index.
  
  When I use the join in a select query, it works.
  
  But when I use the join as inline in an update statement I get the error ORA-01779.
  
  When I remove the '+ 0' the update statement works. (The column is unique in table B).
  
  Any ideas why this happens?

  Suppose I have a table in Oracle which is cached in TT as a readonly cache group.
  The oracle table has a primary key, based on columns (c1, c2, c3).
  
  Now, the oracle table also has a unique index (for example defined on columns c4, c5) in support of some queries.
  
  (1) is there a way to propagate this unique index for the cache group? (so that we can perform queries effectively TimesTen)
  
  (2) is it correct to assume that the group create cache statement MUST have the columns (c1, c2, c3) for the primary key? (that is, exactly the same as the pharmacokinetics of the oracle)

  (1) after you have created the cache in TimesTen group, simply create the index needed on the tables of cache in TimesTen (using CREATE [UNIQUE] INDEX) as you would for any table.

  (2), it depends. A caching table must have a primary key defined in TimesTen. This PK must map to either a real PK defined in Oracle (same column names, order of the columns, data types, nullability, etc..) or a unique index defined on a set of columns not null (column names of the soul, order of the columns, types of data etc.).

  Well not much description required in this case. I was using firefox for the first time on a mac and so was trying new things with this version of firefox. Just got stuck with these separators xtra... Can't find a way to get them off of my bookmarks toolbar...

  You can open the Bookmark Manager (Bookmarks > show all bookmarks) and go to the Favorites bar folder in the left pane.
  You can then remove the separators in the right pane.

  I noticed that aliases do not appear in the workspace for the controls and indicators and procedures system Explorer and see calculated. Is there a way for them to appear?   You are right that you cannot use alias in a file system definition for mapping purposes. It is an area that we hope to improve in the future. The initial design of alias was to serve as a public interface for the workspace, profiles of stimulus and so on. However, it is certainly a use case valid to be used as an interface in a system definition.

  A possible solution would be to create a set of user channels that play the public role of your interface in your system definition. Always use your user channels in all procedures, calculated channels and so on. Map your CAN channels on these channels to the user. Whenever you update YOUR database, you must remap the new CAN channels to the appropriate user channel. You can also automate this activity by importing a file delimited by tabs on the mappings page. The one drawback here is that your target will take a little more time to deal with these mappings.

  Nothing seems to be a problem with the page. The specified region is extremely basic html with a compilation option that is excluded. Other regions with the same compilation option do not report these log files in the debug.

  It is indeed related to the build option and you can ignore the messages. I'll put their debug level 9 If you don't see them in the normal debug output.

  Before the page is rendered, APEX load relevant metadata in the wwv_flow package global variables. For example, fill us the tables g_items, the g_buttons and the g_plugs with the definitions of element, button and region, respectively. We do not charge the definitions of components that are excluded by a compilation option. After loading these data, we must build relationships between records, for example, we calculate index of the item in the g_plugs region and store it with the definition of the element. If the region is excluded by a compiler option, but the underlying element is not, the computation of the element cannot find the related region folder in g_plugs. You get messages from debugging for this kind of inconsistencies.

  Thanks to the advice I read in other threads, I'm designing a website using SSIs. The main reason, I will use them is to build 7 navigation aside different lists in a model. But, as a warm up, I try to add my footer as a SSI on my home page.

  I can't make it appear!

  Here are some facts:

  -Apache Server

  -Server Administrator said that it put in place in order to be able to "use SSIs on index.shtml.

  -J' have created a footer in an empty page in Dreamweaver, deleted everything at the top of the page that precedes the opening for the footer div

  -Recorded the footer file page under "footer.ssi" inside a folder in my site called "ISS".

  -In test-home page (test/index.shtml), I clicked on "Insert SSI."

  -Code is <!-#include virtual = "" / www/www.psychology.vcu.edu/html/ssi/footer.ssi "- >"

  -Type is set to virtual

  -the value Relative to the root of the Site

  -Footer appears in Design view in Dreamweaver

  -Downloaded "footer.ssi" and "test/index.shtml.
