Man, it was a day both process and still does not. As for others, I tried all the steps recommended without result. Once I get my computer to "land of reversion", I think I'll forget install the update. There must be a bug in it.

Other solutions?

I have a laptop that is preinstalled with Vista. The hard drive crashed so I had to completely restore, even the recovery partition. How can I LEGALLY install Windows again at the lowest possible cost? The computer has enough features to run Windows Vista/7/8.

Since you did obviously not a backup, has not get and/or do a recovery media...

Try to get a set of the manufacturer recovery media:
Lost your Windows disks? How to legally get filtering alternatives,

Unfortunately - there is no guarantee that the manufacturer of your aura of media in Windows Vista.

After that - you can try to find a friend, family member or just a neighbor who might have a disk of the same edition and the architecture of Windows Vista, you are supposed to use (look for a sticker on the system - perhaps under the battery - that tells you which edition of Windows Vista and the product key) and use it to clean install with your product key.

After that - your choice could be a friend of tech savvy with a TechNet or MSDN license, which is ready to download a copy of Windows Vista for you and burn it to DVD and you helps to install and be activated with your product key.

Where you can get into trouble, is that if you can not read this sticker more and your system manufacturer peut/do not send you a set of system recovery media.

The extent of the "pretty good specs" - this isn't your only concern. If the manufacturer of the computer or of individual components does not support their products with Windows 7 or Windows 8 (so there are device drivers and software out there that allow of such device (s) to properly communicate with Windows 7 or Windows 8 and be fully effective and appropriately used), then you are out of luck.

Many many people have this problem when I talk to others. Miscrosoft compromises our computers so we would have to buy new ones?
They know there is a problem and they don't even try to find a solution for this. In this economy, they force people to buy new computers, they will just leave people blocked company becase NOBODY takes the phone, if you do not have email, people don't keep in touch, if you are not on a social network or business networking nobody will know your business, you won't make any money nobody reads the ACTUAL newspapers these days, everybody reads the news on the internet. They only hurt people, they are forcing anyone to buy a new computer, people just can't afford it. Hundreds of thousands of people can barely keep their utilities on. In doing so I wish they will reconsider. I am disabled I will definitely cut if my computer goes down for good.

Can we do any smell that?

There are also a lot that I need to run startup until the restoration. Windows restarts after the crash of the blue screen, I reinstalled windows twice, it works fine until I have start to install all updates. I have only installed MSE and it still happens. I lost all my music I paid a lot of money for, my paintings for children, important documents, all because I had to reinstall windows twice now. I may have to reinstall them once more and I do NOT wish to install the updates again. He really never stops until I installed updates to windows. I thought that if I use the programs from Microsoft that it will work, because after all, it's all done by the same company, but no, nothing works. I am so in the sincere real despair. Be alone without technical skills, hardly what actually on my disability check, now I'm going to cut everyone. Now I can't do ANYTHING without it crashing, nothing fun anyway. I tried Microsoft fix, I tried so many solutions. I paid for Adobe photoshop, because I like to draw things and I'm terrified to install it. I'm afraid to do anything fun or useful on this computer.

If I can afford a new computer at any time, I think I will try Apple, I lost my trust in Windows. Unless they make an effort to solve this problem, then I would give them a chance again, but not if they will try to help. I'm so frustrated. I spend a lot of money on this computer, it's an ENTERTAINMENT laptop and I get not very amused.

What is going on?

Hello

Could be heat related - try using a small fan to blow into the air intakes to see if that helps.
It is just like it loses power or stop it in the normal way? Heat associated
does not necessarily mean excessive heat, it could be something is too sensitive to the same
normal levels of heat. Also a computer will produce more heat as is pointed out how adding
software or updates, among other measures, causes it. Of course those actions should not
cause enough stress or heat to shut down the computer.

For a laptop on everything that you can do is reinstall the memory and clean the ventilation openings (still may try to add
a small fan as a test). Of course first remove all power.

This sounds like material so if the above does not help you then probably need help
a real computer store (not the leeks and the glances at a Best Buy or other stores) or the
Support of system Maker.

Note If you have already tried to install the stand-alone package for the service pack and you have encountered this problem, skip this resolution and go to resolution 2.

If you don't know if you've tried to install the stand-alone package for the service pack, it is recommended that you try the following steps to install the stand-alone package for the service pack. By using the stand-alone package to install the service pack, you eliminate installation issues that may be related to Windows Update. This simplifies the troubleshooting process.

How to obtain the stand-alone package for the service pack

To obtain the service pack, see the following articles in the Microsoft Knowledge Base, depending on your operating system, and then look for the option to install the service pack from the Microsoft Download Center.

Resolution 3: Close or disable any applications that may be running, restart the computer and then install the service pack

Click here to show or hide detailed information

Important These steps may increase your security risk. These steps may also make the computer or the network more vulnerable to attack from malicious users or malicious software such as viruses. We recommend the process that this article describes to enable programs to operate as they are designed for, or to implement specific program features. Before you make these changes, we recommend that you evaluate the risks that are associated with implementing this process in your particular environment. If you decide to implement this process, take additional measures to protect the system. We recommend that you use this process only if you really need this process.

During installation, one of the most frequent causes of failure occurs when a third-party application holds open a file or locks a file that the service pack installer should use. For example, an application third-party antivirus or antispyware may cause this problem. To minimize this risk, follow these steps:

1. close all applications and restart your computer.

2. Once your computer has restarted, disable any antivirus or any antispyware application that can load during the startup process. You can normally disable the notification area application. This area is located in the bottom right corner of the computer screen. To disable an application in the notification area, follow these steps:

a. right-click on the icon of the third-party program.

b. click Close, disable, outputor an equivalent term in the list of options. If these options are not available, you may open the application and then close or disable in the application.

3. as soon as you close the antivirus or the antispyware software, try to click here to install the download package full of the service pack that you previously downloaded from the following Microsoft Download Center Web site.

4. After completing the installation of the service pack, enable the antivirus or the antispyware software that you disabled in the previous steps.

If your problem is still not resolved, you can try the steps of troubleshooting on your own, or you can contact Microsoft technical support.

Resolution 4: Uninstall security applications, restart the computer and then install the service pack

A third-party security application (for example, an antivirus application, a firewall, or antispyware software) can still be causing the installation fails, even though you tried to disable the application. The Windows Vista SP1 installation requires several restarts of the computer, and the security application may be reload after the first reboot. Applications that provide registry repair features may also cause the installation to fail.

You can uninstall your third-party security application before you install the service pack. However, you should do this only if you are positive that you can reinstall the application as soon as the service pack installation is complete. To reinstall the third-party security application, you'll need either the original installation media for the application, or you need the original download. You may also need a product key to reinstall the third-party security application.

If you are sure that you can reinstall the third-party application, uninstall the application from the programs and features item in Control Panel. To do this, follow these steps:

1. close all applications and restart your computer.

2. Once your computer has restarted, click Start

Collapse this includes this image

.

3. in the find what box, type programs.

4. click on programs and features.

5. click on the name of the security program that you want to uninstall.

6. click on Uninstall.

7. After you have uninstalled the program, restart the computer.

8. try to click here to install the download package full of the service pack that you previously downloaded from the following Microsoft Download Center Web site.
Note You have uninstalled your security software, and your computer is more vulnerable to attack by malicious users or by malicious software such as viruses. We recommend that you do not surf the Web, use e-mail, or use instant messaging, up to what you have done to solve the problem, and you have reinstalled your security software.

9. After completing the installation of Windows Vista SP1, reinstall the security program that you uninstalled in the previous steps.

* All of these resolutions were conducted, but still having trouble running SP1 & SP2. It's a problem of installation and after the installation of Service packs 1 & 2 times. I have a SYSTEM of 32-bit operating systems. KB947821 analytical TOOL has also been installed!, by following the instructions in res 2. Security / Antivirus has also been disabled in accordance with the instructions of res 3 & 4. Service packs Download but will not work!

• No sound after installing Windows 7 SP1 on Dell 15 (1564)

Hello

I had to make a clone of my HD that came with the machine almost died - the system did not start as it was too busy to work with bad sectors. The new clone has worked well, except no sound. I reinstalled all the drivers, including the chipset Intel HD Audio and Realtek Audio card drivers, but no go. Even video drivers AMD drivers LAN, card reader drivers, I reinstalled everything but nothing worked. I finally deleted the Windows 7 SP1 installation, and all of a sudden, everything works fine! I reinstalled the version SP1 with a new copy of the Microsoft site and again the sound disappears. When I go to system information, audio devices are no problem. Windows and Dell own troubleshooting finds no problem. The Realtek speakers are set by default (tried deactivating and reactivating, but did not work). The only point where reviews of windows without the audio is generated when I go into the settings of the speakers, select the speakers (only option is stereo) and click Test, the system claims that the sound could not be played. Am I doomed to Windows 7 which can never be updated for SP1?

Note also that I can't go back to the factory because settings that the cloning process deleted the hidden partition. Also, I never had the drives installation or repair for Windows 7, so that option is out as well.

What, in the Windows SP1 could cause the noise problem? I realize that since the Audio worked fine before cloning in SP1, the question must be with the architecture of Windows, but why the sound will return when I uninstall SP1?

Anyone have any new ideas?

Such problems are common with factory settings which have the pre-installed drivers, as well as pre-installed software.

Windows 7 Service Pack 1 contains a number of drivers which adequate conflict with the pre-installed drivers. So you reduced the (likely) bad audio and video performance may be bad.

You can try to uninstall audio and video drivers to uninstall Windows 7 Service Pack 1, then go to uninstall or change a program and remove any audio or video software. Also to uninstall the drivers from Device Manager and then install Windows 7 Service Pack 1, and then the drivers.

It would probably be better if you just clean installed with media that contains the Service Pack 1 and then install system drivers in the correct order.

Follow the Windows reinstallation Guide / A clean installation of Windows 7:

http://philipyip.WordPress.com/Dell-community-forums/

It will tell you how to download a Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 installation .iso, create a bootable USB, backup product activation and clean install of Windows 7. This should give optimal performance.

• Windows Vista Home Premium 32 Bit > Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit?

Just a question, I currently have Vista Home Premium 32 Bit OEM and want to upgrade to Windows 7 64 bit. When you buy an upgrade pack does with Versions 32 and 64 BIT, I understand not doing a clean install, etc.. but the DVD with this capability upgrade? as far as I can see the comments are widespread, and State if the disk used for the upgrade is a full version or an upgrade copy. Because I would rather buy the upgrade on a whole new pack of detail for reasons of $.

Yes, this full and updated details to level version boxed packages include records of 32 and 64-bit.

Upgrade paths:
When important changes to your computer, for example an upgrade, it is always recommended that you back up your system before installing a new version of Windows. In your case, you can upgrade to Windows 7 depending on the edition and the architecture of Windows Vista, you have installed. If you are running a 32-bit version of Vista and upgrade to a 64-bit (Windows 7 edition) version, you'll have a pure make install, it is the opposite case.

If you are using Windows Vista Home Basic or Premium consumer editions, you can only upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate. Also, you can make the downgrades, which means, if you are running Windows Vista Ultimate Edition now, you cannot downgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium. You perform logical upgrades:

Windows Vista Home Basic > Windows 7 Home Basic, Premium or Ultimate
Windows Vista Edition Home Premium > Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate
Windows Vista Business > Windows 7 Professional, enterprise or ultimate edition
Windows Vista Business > Windows 7 Enterprise
Windows Vista Ultimate > Windows 7 Ultimate.

• Windows 7 OEM Pro 32 Bit will provide drivers? Espescially LAN driver?

If I install a recently purchased new Windows 7 Pro 32 Bit OEM, will I lose my drivers, especially my LAN driver. After Windows 7 type of installed clean detail he worked drivers with digital signatures to Microsoft. OEM provides the generic Microsoft drivers as the retail versions do? I have more key for my retail copy. I did the upgrade of Windows 10, he wiped my Windows 7, I did a clean install of Windows 7, but it will not activate without lost key.

Hello

If previous retail Windows 7 clean install provided drivers I needed, the OEM 7 would also provide them (for the same devices)?

Not necessarily, because you may have been using Dell recovery media which has been customized by Dell and injected with drivers specific for your model Dell computer at the factory.

Long version of the question below

About network drivers for all three machines currently running Windows 7, but do not activate or allow changes (bad copy needed to recover from 10 Windows could not upgrade).

1. I have a Dell Dimension E521, currently using

According to the Dells, the latest drivers that they have is for Windows Vista, you can use.

http://www.Dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/product/dimension-E521/drivers

Its most likely the Windows 7 installation media will have the class drivers appropriate for at least your Broadcom, which you can use to connect to the Internet and update via Windows Update.

Still download important factors in advance to have at least a working system:

Which architecture of Windows 7 are install you, 32 bit or 64 bit?

According to the interaction that I had with the seller, this course and the software was designed for windows 95 and it may or may not work on windows 7, which is currently installed on my system. As this course is now out of new creation/editing/printing, I can't it anywhere except from the link above.

It could work according to the architecture of Windows 7 installed. If you have Windows 7 64 bit installed, it may not work because the software could have 16-bit code not supported by 64 bit versions of Windows.

To determine if you have Windows 7 64-bit:

Click Start, right computer

Click on properties

Go to the section Type System
