Archive mail Outlook Express 6

How to archive messages in Outlook Express 6 in my external hard drive - so that I can permanently delete these message from my hard drive?

Create as many folders as needed and follow these steps. Do not delete FRO OE messages until you are satisfied with the results.

Create a folder on your desktop, then in Outlook Express open the folder with the messages you want to save. Highlight a message, and then Ctrl + A will highlight all (or Ctrl-button down while you select only messages you want), now, drag and drop them into the folder on your desktop. (Easier if the shortcut folder is located on the taskbar).

Now you can copy this folder on the external drive.

You can see the messages with the same subject get attached, probably with (1), (2), etc. One of these programs may be useful for you. Take a look and decide.

  • E-mail-Outlook Express does not open.

Don't know if I'm in the right place to ask this question. When I try to open my Outlook Express I get a box that reads, "Outlook Express could not be started because MSOE." DLL could not be initialized. "Outlook Express from my is not installed correctly.    He told me to contact Microsoft support. It worked fine yesterday until I clicked on a box to leave my files be compacted. Since then, I have not been able to open Outlook. I tried to restore my computer to 4 different dates, but he tells me that it is not able to restore to previous dates. I'm not a computer genius, so any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Which is good news for beginners.

Normally, restore bak files are a little easier, but since you had to create a new identity, you must import them manually.

Open the trash and all the bak files, you must drag the desktop.  Do not use the option restore.

    Follow the instructions here.

How to restore individual dbx files
    http://www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx#imp1

You will need to rename them, and create the corresponding files in OE to their housing. It is not difficult, but read carefully and just do one at a time.

If you do not understand the instructions, post back before trying. You can drag an additional bak file on the desktop that you need not just to a series of tests.

  • Compact mail Outlook Express and now no message appears.

PC asks if I want to compact mail to save space. I hit Yes, and now no message of several thousand including my messages Outlook express appears ENVOYS who are very very important and a disaster so destroyed by this joke program.

original title: Outlook EXPRESS MAIL COMPACTING PERFORMED all THE MESSAGES DISAPPEAR!  Help.

When you restore a bak file it goes to the OE message store where you rename that afte dbx by dragging the file dbx of origin out of the message store. Did you do that? From your response, it appears you have not yet even been at the base of messages.

There is nothing wrong with my instructions if you follow them correctly.

P.S. If you read the two links at the top, you would realize that without compacting, surly you would lose your messages at any given time. You can't put 10 lbs of s * in a 5 pound bag.

  • Microsoft Outlook and Windows Mail (Outlook Express)

I think about going to use Windows Mail using Microsoft Outlook.  In addition to the management of contacts and calendar features, you can specify the main advantages of using Outlook on Windows Mail (formerly Outlook Express)?

Right now, I use XP and Vista on two separate computers, but I think to buy the new Windows 7 computer.

    Thank you

Well, you will not be able to use Windows Mail on Win7 without do a hack job, and you cannot use Outlook Express on Win7 except in XP Mode, (Pro, Enterprise, or Ultimate only), so the biggest advantage would be the possibility of using the same client messaging on all your machines.

  • Problems with mail/outlook express

I use XP Pro 2002 SP3 and Outlook Express 6 on a PC of Prion.  It worked perfectly fine for years. However when I try now to open OE arrive a few different things: -.
    1. opens OK
2 stands on "allow". Connection window will appear - when I click OK it disappears for a second, then re - will appear, and you receive error 0x800CCC92 No. message and error in r.h.corner.
    3. It also happens after that I was connected successfully.
    4. If I "Create Message" and send it (as "Error" is displayed) the message is sent and received new messages are either he starts working again!  Until he came again.

I talked with my server several times and checked that my settings are correct. I use Avast Anti-virus (no problem for several years).  My server suggested that turn off and try again - it made no difference.

I recently bought a new laptop with Windows 7. This disconnect makes no difference.  I don't have Outlook Express installed on the laptop.

  • Windows live mail/Outlook express

If I can come back to use Outlook Express as my email account after you use Windows Live Mail for awhile?

If so is there any likely repercussions?

Outlook Express was last used in XP and there is no standalone version. If you have Win7 Pro, enterprise or ultimate edition, you can use OE in XP Mode.

If nothing happens when you click on a link:
Open Windows Explorer or on the control panel.
Go to tools | Folder options | Types of files.
Scroll to [NONE] URL: HyperText Transfer Protocol (NOT the shortcut URL: Internet) and select it.
Click Edit or advanced, depending on your version of Windows.
    Choose 'open '.
    Click on change.

"Application used to perform action" should read:

"C:\PROGRAM may EXPLORER\iexplore.exe" - nohome (check the path to)
Iexplore.exe to ensure that it is correct and use the double quotes).

DDE should be checked and in the boxes below, you should have:

    #1:
    « %1 »,,-1,0,,,
    #2
    IExplore
    #3 (white)

    #4
    WWW_OpenURL

Protocol URL: HyperText Transfer with Privacy should be the same.

If the foregoing is correct, uncheck the box: use DDE.

  • Windows Live Mail/Outlook Express for Windows XP 64-bit?

On my work machine, I was just upgraded from Windows XP 32 bit to 64 bit. Only now I find that Windows Live Essentials 2011 is not compatible with XP 64-bit. Is there any program I can use to access my Hotmail email on Windows XP 64-bit?

    Kind regards

    P.

There may be a POP client that runs on WIndows XP 64-bit.  You will not be able to get to your contacts or calendar or other folders than Inbox, however.  Parameters by using a POP client can be found here: http://windowslivehelp.com/solution.aspx?solutionid=a485233f-206d-491e-941b-118e45a7cf1b

  • Can I import files of Outlook Express mail from a broken PC disk?

The XP System I used for e-mail for years died. The hard drive is OK. My mail is on it. I was wondering if I could import the e-mail folders in Thunderbird on my new PC for Windows 8.1 install the hard drive from the old PC and pointing Thunderbird for mail Outlook Express store on the old drive. Clear Outlook Express isn't alive on the new PC, so the usual instructions "import" seem not to apply. However, what I want to do looks like it should be possible.

You need convert DBX files by using third-party programs. I have a blog post here http://thunderbirdtweaks.blogspot.com.au/2011/07/outlook-express.html with links to undbx. It's free, but a command line tool. If you want a GUI, it is one of the best offer in my experience. http://www.maildev.com/buy/ , but it will cost you.
