I checked the main site from the log file it log archiving generates here but that is not delivered to the backup site. As I checked the pwd file is same on both sites, so I am able to connect to the db of the main site backup site.

  If you take the time to register to your original with Adobe installation (which most people do not), you can log in to your Adobe account and get the serial number. If you use a Windows computer and still have access to the old computer where Lightroom is installed, you can do the following:

  1. in the window folder options, make sure that you are able to see hidden folders.

  2. go to the C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Lightroom folder.

  3. use Notepad to open the file, Lightroom 5.0 Registration.lrreg

Thinking that I start one by one and find out what service was slowing downloads. When I booted in normal mode, the download speeds were still broken.

  So I continued then to disable services, I disabled all services which have to do with networking, and to enable windows.  (Things like the service that launches programs. Yes, any program that has not been opened I could not open.) Accordingly, I have concluded that it was not all services.

  This is a new installation, so I only installed firefox and flash. (no flash for the speed test) no anti-virus, etc.

  Hey, I had the same problem and I solved it:
  1. - in the Firefox menu, display the Tools/Options.
  2. - unselect the checkbox "use hardware acceleration when available.
  This should work better now. Apparently the hardware acceleration makes the problems only when the windows of Firefox appears in a non-primary screen (don't know why).
