are supposed to raise memory upgrade, I thought they were to add or replace later versions!

Hello

Some time ago I had more than 50% of the memory, now updates have dropped close to 27%. are they supposed to address memory, I thought they should be precisely to seniors, and or old things have been deleted. fo all or almost my programs are on memory sticks to be the culprit. any suggestions! I have an ibm aptiva. win xp home sp3, processor 3d amd k6, 394 mhz, 192 MB of ram. any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Some updates take memory and some replacement updates or add files.  It depends on the update.  Some take a lot of space (such as SP2) and some take little space at all (like some security patches).

  • All my system restore points are gone, can I get them back? They were here before, I did a restore earlier in the day.

I have read through many of the issues with my problem similar but found no answers I thought applied to my question.  I use Vista Home Basic and it came on laptop. He began to get a blue screen, the other week that close... I signed on and it allows me to open my Cricket to go online and allows me to open IE and go online - I was for a few hours.  With all the previous still running I went to open AOL and the blue screen appeared again. I started to play and it seems that AOL is the reason.  System Restore fixed.  I could sign and use Cricket, IE and even AOL.  A few weeks later now I am online using IE and I had saved a few sites to my bookmark on the google toolbar.  I kept all the programs like I always do and clicked on AOL and of course, a blue screen and shut down.  I thought I'd make system restore as before... He's fine, but I noticed that when I went to IE my google toolbar was gone and I have several sites needed bookmarks so I played with the tools and disabled my toolbar and it permits etc. nothing helped so I defeated the system restore and signed for IE and google toolbar is back to normal but now AOL is causing the blue screen new.  I decided to try, then uninstall the google toolbar and simply re-install everything when I do a restore to get AOL works or to uninstall AOL and reinstall it again. I opened the system restore and that's when it opened and said there are no restore points on my system and take care to create a manual.  I'm afraid that if I do just that I lose the ability to restore my restore points, if there is a way (which means yes, you can restore the system restore points, but you must do before anything else, as if I created an it would ruin my chance to restore my 'old'?).  In any case, of course, I must have the computer checked as to why the blue screen is arise every few weeks but so far here, I want to do system restore to fix at the moment.  What can I do to get my restore points back?  Thanks in advance!

    Hi Diana,

Thank you for answering... that's why I'm confused, I know not that restore points deleted as space fills up and also if you turn off your protection system but neither one of these grounds was the case.  I had a lot of space (from the previous use of sys restore, I see how many restore points can accumulate before deletion and it was not nearly that many) and protection of my system is on?  It just happened without reason that's why I was hoping that I could get back them due to abnormal circumstances.  I do not!  I have uninstall AOL completely and when I reinstalled it everything went well up to what he did and he opened up to find my connection type and of course, the blue screen appeared and stop.  Obviously, AOL, but I thought that a new facility would set as I had AOL since I was the new laptop.  I thought that maybe a file was corrupted or something and uninstall and reinstall would work but no luck.  I was going to do a complete reinstallation of my laptop all but before I do, I noticed I never had disks when I bought it, everything was installed (Windows Vista), but they do not include a disc of resettlement.  I don't know if this is how they do it now, or if mine was incomplete, so I guess I'll put hands on MS supports.  Thanks again!

ask the manufacturer of the laptop or send a set of vista recovery discs and also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive of everything put to the standards of the plant and how to access a partition recovery with a certain combination of keys to start the process

Disable your extensions, restart Firefox between each one, until you find the troublemaker. Once you do, you can turn off this add-on and report the problem to the developer of this - on Add.

I don't know about other issues. There are always 'problems' with any upgrade. You weigh against the benefits. I know that you need more RAM. At least 4 GB, maybe more if you can. Don't forget that this system is produced at a time when most of the machines have + 8 GB RAM and when Apple said 'minimum' they really mean it.  I recently inherited a MacBook that has 2 GB of RAM and the Mavericks. When I checked the memory, the use of the system was using 1.95 GB = nothing to run applications!

  • Alienware Area 51 R2 memory upgrade help

    Hello

I recently ordered an Alienware R2 with 16 GB of memory. It is still being built / shipped. I have decided to upgrade the memory up to 32 GB, however, I can't find any information to see if there are homes of free memory opened on the computer when it comes with 16 GB? Could someone tell me?

In addition, because I don't have yet a series number, I couldn't find the memory upgrade to this unit on the Dell Web site. Could someone tell me a reference number for the upgrade of memory? 2 x 8 GB

Thank you very much for the help!

Chassis: HP Compaq 6000 Pro Compact

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo @3. 00 GHz

    RAM: 2 x 1 GB

    OS: Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

I can add more technical info on request.

Recently saved this PC of my friend tries to throw it. Everything is fine with the PC. It works perfectly and there is no material visible failure wihtin the PC either. He just bought a new and had no need for this one.

Before turn me this into a House mutli-purpose server, I decided to upgrade the RAM.

So I did some research and found this page: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01883661

DDR3 240-pin DIMM 1333 MHz non - ECC, Max 4 GB per DIMM slot, Total Max 16 GB module.

I went and bought RAM Corsair. Link to the product: http://www.corsair.com/en-us/cmv4gx3m1a1333c9

I decided to get 2x4gb and upgrade later if I felt the need.

I was happy to install in the PC. one in DIMM 1 slot and the other in the DIMM 2 slot.

    BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP!

I thought that maybe the slots are wrong, maybe they have to odd numbers then numbers.

So I changed the RAM of DIMM 2 DIMM 3.

    Once again, the annoying ringtone.

I even tried leaving just the 4 GB DIMM 1 and tried to start the PC, but nothing helped.

I tried a lot of different combinations with the end result is 5 annoying beeps.

After that I thought that maybe, just maybe, an update of the BIOS can change things.

So I installed Windows 7 (I can't stand Windows. Arch Linux FTW) and performing a BIOS update.

I then installed the new RAM again. Yes... frickin 5 beeps AGAIN.

I am extremely disappointed at this point. I spent already $ 70 on a computer with free access.

I read the forums here, but I couldn't find a thread with a solution for me.

Is there anyone on this forum who could lend me a helping hand?

Any information would be gladly appreciated.

PS Please report any stupid error, I did. Stick and stones could not curb my bones.

  • HP Elite 8000 Small Form Factor memory upgrade

    Hello

We have a dozen HP 8000 Elite SFF with 2 GB.

We want to upgrade memory of 8 GB witn market.

We tried several manufactures memory and we always get a red flashing led and 4/5 beeps and no MESSAGE.

We are looking for in the specifications of memory and they are supposed to support the bars of 10600 DDR3 memory with 9-9-9 latency.

We tried CL9 DDR3-10600 of G.Skills and Kingstom and no luck.

We have updated the BIOS to the latest version, we have placed only Sun in the black Plug and not luck. We had an old memory of a year Sun of g.skill that worked, but the same manufactured later memory didn' work.

    Finally the transcend JM133KLN - 4G worked.

I think that the kingstom kth9600B may also work

  • Dv6t 2000 CTO Entertainment Notebook with i7 processor 72QM to Max memory upgrade?

I have a dv6t with i7 720 m build processory about 3 years ago. I think there clarksfield CPU. I have a 2 x 2 gig installed for total of 4gig from the original version.   I wonder (assuming that Win 7 64 bit family premium that takes in charge until 16gig), this laptop only supports 8gig?  I ran a tool and it has a reference to logic/Chipset memory banks maximum installable memory of 32gig and a reference to the controller memory memory install Max 8gig.  So, what gives? The laptop will support the sticks of memory 2x8gig or just the sticks of memory 2x4gig?  The laptop DV6T 2000 CTO Entertainment.  If it supports 16 gig, I would just buy one of the sticks 8gig rather than 2x4gig. And maybe try to use 2 concerts with the 8gig send me a 10gig for now... or just wait to see if I need a 2nd 8gig.  And an upgrade of the bios will support the 16 gig?

I thought I would update my own question with the truth and the response of work that hopefully someone other than stubmles help in this.  But in a nutshell the CTO of 2000 models DV6t you could order 2009 about DO DO support 16gig and NOT only 8 GB. I have 2 slots. I have the quad 720QM first edition, yes first edition. The Intel site and the sites of Auditor memory are FALSE!  The saying has been 1st gen Quad cpu supports no more than 2x4gig = 8gigs.  In fact, one of my tools suggests that I can put in up to 32gig assuming I can find sticks of memory 2 x 16gig I don't even think is still for sale not to mention affordability. Spread the word because I hope this helps others. I bought memory to geek and thought that I would be lucky since I read several comments and observations at various locations, which suggests that they were trying to 16gig and indeed he has worked for the 720QM processor.  I did have to update my BIOS HP offers that I have to install to 2010ish, as opposed to the 4 or so that are available today for my model, but I think that have been updated to support my model didn't require much more. I carried out memory tests too in 5 iterations without problem, and in fact it starts immediately without any problem with WIN 7 home premium, recognizing the sticks. I also checked the CPU64z tool for the memory tab.

  • HP all-in - One 200-5120UK: memory upgrade

    Hello

Try to upgarde to 2 2 GB standard memory in this machine to 2 of 4 GB.

Diagnostics of HP hardware of the machine gives installed memory (1333 MHz) DDR3-SDRAM.

    Bought Kingston memory kit reference number KVR13S9S8K2/8, the standard DDR3 1333 MHz Non - ECC CL9, 1R, X 8, 1.5 v, Unbuffered, SODIMM, i.e. 2 per 4 GB.

    Machine does not start.

Switch on the series of beeps constantly repeated, hard drive does not turn, screen does not show.

Replace the original, all memory is OK.

Any thoughts, other than the memory of DOA, which seems unlikely?

Any manipulation of the pieces made with anti-static mast band and wrist in use.

    Thank you.

According to their site memory Configurator, Kingston manufactures modules memory compatible with your desktop from HP 200 - 5120UK.

Since you're in England there are other options. Return the module that you purchased and use a web search, as I did to find the modules that are guaranteed compatible with your desktop computer.

    http://www.mrmemory.co.UK/memory-RAM-upgrades/HP/all-in-one/200-5120uk

Replace the modules by pairs of identical modules. Replacement of simple modules to add to an already installed module results fair on the no start screnarion you met.

That the manufacturers and sellers to try to determine compatibility. In this way, that it involves not spending your ownfunds to find a module that works. Suppliers and manufacturers have their reputation on the line when they guarantee a memory they sell will work as expected.

  • HP Probook b 6450 memory upgrade question

    Hi all

I seem to have a strange question seeks to upgrade the memory in a HP 6450 b probook (i5 - 480 m & ATI card). The laptop came with 2 GB of sps p/n 598856-002, which is ram 1333 mhz 1.5V with the manufacturer being ramaxel. I ordered and installed a few sticks of kingston 4 GB

    http://h30094.www3.HP.com/product/SKU/10473659/mfg_partno/KTH-X3BS/4G

Mounted to them and all appeared to be as well as the operating system (win 7 32 bit pro) showed the recognized as 8 GB stick and 3 GB usable, the bios also reported 8 GB as well. However the moment that a 64 bit OS (Linux or Windows) is tempted to run just the laptop falls down or crashes

I already tried this upgrade with two sticks of crucial memory but had exactly the same problem, so think about crucial memory was the question I put to the supplier and ordered the kingstons rather.

I saw very similar question mentioned here:

    http://www.TomsHardware.co.UK/Forum/328016-30-memory-upgrade-ProBook

    and

    http://superuser.com/questions/580512/HP-ProBook-6450b-not-booting-after-memory-upgrade

My instinct suggests this notebook can be very picky about the memory chips, it may have to be a 4 GB key 16 chip versus chip 8 4 GB sticks.

Thoughts and help on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    You are the very welcome.

Yes, I have never, ever install any module of memory in my notebooks from HP that does not 16 chips.

All the chips I use - 2 gigs and up, have 16 chips (8 on each side).

    Never had a problem.

  • HP CQ61-313US posible memory upgrade configurations?

I have this laptop: HP CQ61-313US (with Windows7 64 bit) (card mother AMD = SKU: 577064-001)

    Origin this model laptop has 3 GB (1 GB x 1 + 2 x 1 GB) memory DDR2 800 MHz PC2 6400 S.

Now, I would like to upgrade memory a little bit, and according to the specifications (manual booklet to print and pdf) it is (recommended?, recommended?, applicable only?)  configurations of memory upgrade - here's the Manual:

    2 SODIMM slots

    Customer-accessible/extendable

    PC2-6400, 800 MHz, DDR2

    Supports dual-channel memory

Supports up to 8 GB of RAM, in the following configurations:

    8192 MB (4096 × 2)

    4096 MB (2048 × 2)

    3072 MB (2 048 × 1 + 1024 × 1)

    2048 MB (2 048 × 1).

    2048 MB (1024 × 2)

    1024 MB (1024 × 1).

As you can see only 6 GB isn't on the list, which is incomprehensible to me, particularly because you can combine 1 GB x 1 + 2 GB x 1 to get 3 GB, but not 2 x 1 + 4 x 1 for 6 GB GB GB as I would like.

So basically my question should be: is it possible to install 6 GB memory 2 GB x 1 + 4 GB x 1 on this motherboard despite the fact that it is not mentioned in the manual configuration?

    If YES, then what configuration would be better: 6 GB (2 GB x 1 + 4 x 1 GB) or 4 GB (2 GB x 2)?

    You are the very welcome.

I agree entirely with you suggestion.
