As an owner legitimate Windows XP Pro (OEM 64), where can I get installation media?

Simple question - I would like to download the installation media to reinstall a laptop that I bought with this OS on it, but it doesn't seem to be available anywhere from an official source from Ms.

A lot of torrent sites do it by download, but they're all suspects because of the Canadian Red Cross, possibly indicating compromise of different software.

Here's what I know on this topic (which isn't much):

This is document HP support recovery command: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=bph07143 note the following: "HP maintains an inventory of recovery disks of replacement several years after the product was released. However, due to software license restrictions, HP is able to provide a recovery disc for a limited time. "This bodes well for you.

I suggest that you post a question with the exact error, including the error code, the HP Windows XP Forum: http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/Windows-XP/bd-p/itrc-279#.ULKOXIbn-wA you can also post the same question as a new thread (do not add to it) in the forum XP Repair and recovery here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_xp-system?page=1&tab=all&tm=1353879231110

It is my understanding that you can use a generic "OEM" version of Windows XP with the product key on the laptop - also for a long time that the generic OEM CD is the same version that is indicated on the COST of the laptop (XP Home, XP Pro).  I've seen comments to the effect that the CD must also be the same service pack (if the certificate of authenticity indicates a service pack), but I'm not sure about this.  The problem in your case would be to find a generic CD OEM XP Pro x 64.  Here this one on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Windows-XP-Professional-32-bit-SP2-Full-Version-NO-COA-OEM-/110980131583?pt=US_Operating_Systems_Software&hash=item19d6ee6aff

I noticed several other eBay offerings, which appear in the sale of the CD OEM XP Pro x 64 which include a product key.  I take no position on the question of whether items are legitimate or whether included product keys will work.

  • Satellite Pro P300-1AY - where can I get new parts of keyboard?

    Hey guys,.

I was wondering if you knew all the places where I could get a set of keys for the keyboard (as opposed to buying a new keyboard) and if possible; where I can get sets of keys for different keyboards, such as QWERTY for example.

A big thank you in advance, Owen.

    Hey Buddy,

You can order a new keyboard and these individual keys you want to say t can be ordered. If some individual keys n t work you need to buy a new keyboard but AFAIK it isn't so expensive.

Simply contact the service provider allowed in your country and ask for that. There you can get a new keyboard. :)

  • Where can I get a Windows 7 Ultimate product key?

Recently, I rebuilt my computer Windows 7 Ultimate, replacing the motherboard and adding a new SSD. I used a product key from one of my other computers to do the installation thinking I will get a new product key later.

Now, I can not find where to buy a new product key Windows 7 Ultimate. I can't install Windows 10, I want to keep my Windows 7 Ultimate.

Where can I get a new product key for Windows 7 Ultimate? Whenever I go to MS I am redirected to a page telling me the wonders of Windows 10, which I don't want.

    Thank you

You should consider a different edition if you can not get Windows 7 Ultimate.

You can find software OEM System Builder of dozens of online merchants. The current price for OEM Windows 7 Professional Newegg, for example, is $ 140. When I checked a few minutes ago, Amazon offered packages OEM Windows 7 Professional from several vendors at prices ranging from $ 101 to $ 150. When I checked earlier, a package specifically designed for reconditioned PCs cost only $ 50 for a 64-bit copy.

Because Windows 7 is in limited stock because Microsoft ended sales in October 2013, this created demand due to its rarity. This means the retail boxed copies request a bonus, while the OEM System Builder copies remain affordable.

    Full version (retail):

-Includes the rights of transfer to another computer.

-Does not require a qualifying earlier version of Windows.

    -Expensive

    Upgrade version (detail):

-Includes the rights of transfer to another computer.

-require a qualifying earlier version of Windows.

-Expensive, but less expensive full version

    OEM System Builder version:

The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

There is nothing wrong to use it too, especially that all future versions of Windows will be full versions.

  • The upgrade of Windows 7 Pro OEM of Windows 7 Ultimate retail

My PC is custom built and delivered with Windows 7 Pro OEM installed.  I want to install Windows 7 Ultimate in order to obtain several language and BitLocker.  I know that in a few months, I'll change this PC motherboard (motherboard).

I know that with the OEM, the product key of Windows 7 license is attached to the motherboard.  So when I change, Win 7 Pro license will be lost.  Since I want to be able to transfer the license of Windows 7 to one MOBO to another, I bought a full commercial version of ultimate.

My question is this.  To upgrade the Pro OEM ultimate retail, it's just a matter of changing the product key on the screen of the system property and the new product key will launch the installation of missing features to Windows 7 Pro?

    You must use Anytime Upgrade.

Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, follow the on-screen Wizard, enter the key of Windows 7 ultimate on demand, click on, and then restart your computer when you are prompted. Less than 10 minutes, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate and your files and settings retained.

You can not. An OEM copy is forever linked to the first computer on which it is installed.

    Two points:

    1. it is unlikely that your current installation would work if
you have changed motherboards. You need to reinstall itself.

2 but you cannot use your current copy of Windows if you change
motherboards, not even if reinstall you it cleanly. The largest
disadvantage of an OEM version, is that its license it binds permanently
the first computer, it is installed on and Microsoft believes that
If you change the motherboards, another computer. It can never
legally be moved to another computer, sold or transferred (except with)
the original computer). If the computer dies or is stolen, your
    license dies with him.

  • Can I make a new installation on new hardware with Windows 8 Pro OEM?

But seriously, I have a new MB that I need to use as there is a problem with my Chipet a PCB there is some problem with power. I have not really but it's a mess now of working with and I bought a copy of Windows 8 pro OEM System builder and I made sure that if reason I could use the liscence to win 8 OEm on new hardware store and this Orginal Statemant of Microsoft saying it's fine as long as it's only on a PC. Although I found many threads say otherwise and win 8 OEM is not transferable, as are all the Windows OEM. So I ask you once again so I can have a PC is able to install on new hardware?

Original title: fishing trolling warn... Can I make a new installation on new hardware with Windows 8 Pro OEM?

Windows 8 Pro OEM System Builder has rights of transfer, then Yes, you can move it to a new computer or the motherboard.

    http://personaluselicense.windows.com/en-US/default.aspx,

"Can I transfer the software to another computer or user?

You can transfer the software to another computer owned by you. (You can also transfer the software (as well as the license) to a computer that belonged to someone else if one) you are the first user under the software license and b) of the new user accepts the terms of this agreement. To make a transfer, you must transfer the original media, the certificate of authenticity, the product key and the proof of purchase directly to the other person, without keeping all copies of the software. You can use the backup copy that we do or the media the software provided on transfer the software. Whenever you transfer the software to a new computer, you must remove the software from the previous computer. You can not transfer the software to share licenses between computers. You can transfer the Get Genuine Windows, Pack Pro or Media Center Pack software only in combination with the licensed computer. »

  • Windows 8 Pro OEM update problem

    Hi all

I recently bought an Acer P3 pre-installed with Microsoft Windows 8 single language tablet. Since I need to use some of the functionality available only with the Pro version, I bought a Windows 8 Pro OEM license. Since there is no way to reinstall Windows 8 at the beginning, I use the 'add new features' upgrade. Apparently the license does not work since it is a complete Pro 8 license and features requires the Windows 8 Pack Pro license instead. So, I make a call to Microsoft Tech Line and full of hope that they can change the license Pro Pack. After 2 hours of curiosity and the final tip, pleading for a change (it is not possible to Exchange or refund from the store I bought because the seal is already open), they will not always be allowed to change and leave me with RM 414 (~ 129 USD) in the sewers.

Is it possible for me to upgrade to Windows 8 Pro with this product key, and I really hope there is some flexibility on the part of Microsoft to help me in this situation since I already bought a Microsoft product with a higher value than the Pro Pack Upgrade. I would be happy for you to show my Bill and photo of the if product key requires Microsoft.

Thank you and looking forward to any kind of answers.

Unfortunately, add functionality does not support OEM System Builder licenses. You should have bought the Pro Pack or Pro Windows 8 details of upgrade.

Your only other option because you can not return it is again a custom installation of the currently installed Windows 8 SL. Backup the current Windows 8 install before do you.

First, create a backup of your installation of Windows 8 on an external hard drive:

    Then, create a repair disk:

  • WINDOWS XP PRO OEM OS PROBLEM (S)

    Community (?) merge,.

VM Guest PC error message: cannot configure target VM.

Hello everyone,-New virtualization VM, so far, fortunately have not drowned, treading water with impatience! Currently, I use a MBP with Mt Lion. I tried to install Fusion 5/Mac several times (4 to be exact) all to no avail. I think that my problem might be the Windows XP Pro OEM OS, according to the instructions in the VMWare beginner. Are there effective workaround for this problem? If not, what should I do to fix the facilities failed? How would I go about installing the new version license retail Windows XP Pro on the PC of the client without having to (re) install all my windows programs and files? Any assistance at all, would be most appreciated. Water-treading start to fail, HELP!  Thank you all.

For many years I have dealt with Window XP on a daily basis however I don't remember there being an option to upgrade an OEM installation on-site with a retail facility, so I can't answer explicitly.  Might be better to answer this question by Microsoft or the Microsoft forums.

If I had to test it and I didn't have a ghost of the physical HARD Disk Image to recover from then I'd probably use vmware-rawdiscCreator to temporarily access the physical HARD disk as a raw disk hard can use vmware-diskmanager for a hard normal file based on it.  This does not change the original physical HDD.  Then I would make a virtual computer by using the new normal file based hard and then run the CD at retail, or the ISO Image of it and try to do a repair installation.  If everything works you have then a retail install with your applications and data intact user.  Once again but without really trying, I can only say that's what I would try if in this position.

  • Windows XP Pro OEM Activation (picture is from the same PC)

I ran now a problem whereby Windows XP Pro (OEM) complains about the activations keys, looking at the various workarounds on the net is not seemt to work (nb I use the same PC and everything, images have been drawn the same PC). I use VMWare Server 3 (Urbuntu Linux 8.1.0 64 bit)...

    Any ideas?

The base is Urbuntu 8.1.0 Linux (64-bit)

I don't know specifically on MSDN discs (I don't have) but if it is bootable on a physical machine, you can start it on a virtual machine.
