As of today, why can't log on to the New York Times with Firefox, but can do with Internet Explorer?

I called the New York Times, and they said that they had several people with the same complaint. I did not have this problem before today. Normally, I recognized when I go on the site and do not have to connect at all. Today, I was not recognized and when I tried to connect, it says that there is an unspecified error and wouldn't let me open a session.
