I can't in internet explore unless I have restore my system before 14 Oct automatic updates - daily

Hey Juliette l.

1. What is the message error that you receive on the Internet Explore after having installed the updates?

There are many reasons why internet Explorer would not work after the installation of update Windows.

I suggest that you install the update again and check if the problem persists, try the procedure if the problem below.

Method 1

Check if Add-ons on Internet Explore are causing the error. I suggest you try opening Internet Explore mode without modules.

(a) click the Start button, click all programs, and click Accessories

(b) click System Tools, click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).

How the modules of the browser affect my computer?

Method 2

If the previous step fails then try to reset the internet settings explore by default and check.

How to reset Internet Explorer settings

Important: Reset Internet explore its default configuration. This step will disable also any add-ons, plug-ins or toolbars that are installed. Although this solution is fast, it also means that, if you want to use one of these modules in the future, they must be reinstalled.

I hope this helps!

  • How can I connect Internet Explorer using Netgear WNDA3100VZ?

I had some kind of virus that appeared in netbt.sys and mrxsmb.sys and other places. AVG it erased everything, but now I can not get Internet Explorer online.
Firefox works fine. I use connection supplied with Netgear's wireless LAN adapter and drivers. I have a modem without border wire.

In addition, it seems that AVG is good at eating/destroying this file. The following link mentions this problem:

  • Can I remove internet explore and use chrome instead?

Can I remove internet explore and use chrome instead? That is, crashes, to stop, resarts and slows my computor. I installed Google Chrome and have had no more problems. It opens and closes when I want it and going to the Web pages as I type in without hesitation. I like windows 7, I only have a problem with Internet Explore. It also caused changes in my modem. I need to uninstall the software and reinstall to get it working again. IO would open that is and get a message that says "no internet access - check your settings, I thought it was a virus at some point. As soon as I started using Chrome, everything worked again. That is also caused problems with my printer and home network. I don't mind that is being stored in a file, I don't want to work and make changes to my computer I'm not an it expert by any means. I restored my pc to an earlier time and new conditions of factory several times in the past year (I bought the HP pc new in December 2010).

It is not really a way to remove Internet Explorer.  I have not heard of the type of problems, you had with IE, but if you prefer Chrome and who works for you, all you need to do is to make Chrome the default browser.  I use Firefox and make it my default browser.  Once you make Chrome default you just leave Internet Explorer installed but it won't get used.  Following comes the site help Chrome and tells how to do it by default: http://support.google.com/chrome/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=95417

  • How can I get Internet Explorer on my installation of firefox?

I tried to remove the internet Explorer and it always seems to be a .exe file, that I can't find to remove.

I installed firefox and already put it as my browser default, cleared my cache and cookies of all things in the thing (most) IE. Sometimes a problem with Firefox can be a result of malware installed on your computer, you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to search for malicious software that work with your existing anti-virus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP, if you do not already have one.

More information can be found in the article troubleshooting Firefox problems caused by malware .

  • can I uninstall internet explorer 8, after the installation of Foxfire

I just installed Foxfire. I love it and want to keep it as my browser permanate. My question is if I can remove Internet Explorer 8.

    Thank you

    Walter Spain

No. I am not sure that IE can be completely removed from Windows XP. I remember well, it is linked to the XP operating system. Remove IE8 in Control Panel > Add / Remove Programs will simply go back to the previous version of IE until you end up in IE6 (lots of security issues). If this is the case, it is better to keep IE8 on your system. If you need to make the Manual updates for Windows, you will need IE do.

You can change your default browser Firefox:

    Hi Snoopy65,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

Perform a system restore and then try to install each updates manually one by one. Each time that you install the update, restart the computer. Take note of the update that is causing the problem and let us know. We will be in a better place to help you if we know the exact update which is causing the problem.

    To run the system restore

    1. Click Start, type system restore in the search box, and then click System Restore in the list programs.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    2. in the System Restore dialog box, click on choose a different restore point and then click Next

    3. in the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next

    4. click on finish

Note: When you perform the system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed are removed.
