ASA 5505 IPA ALS with P2P VPN

Hello support,

I would like to just confirm that an ASA 5505 with two providers of Internet services on this subject, can build a P2P VPN off the coast of the backup ISP automatically once the main ISP goes down. It has only a single P2P VPN necessary, but if the main ISP goes down, and IP SLA detects failover, can the P2P VPn stand on the backup ISP?

Hi Anthony,.

Indeed, if the ISP main goes down the backup ISP will be used based on the configured IP SLA. Many customers have usually the SPLM in the primary and the secondary of a site. However, it is also supported.

You can find information about the backup of a site here.

Also a simple set up for the Site to site with backup here

Please note and mark it as correct this Post!

David Castro,

Kind regards

  • ASA 5505 Firewall Transparent with a Server Web Question

I need to replace my Sonicwall firewall and I got an ASA 5505. However, I need to have a transparent firewall, no Natting and Server Web will have a public IP with relevant ports remains open.

The simple illustration is the Internet---> firewall Transparent - Web Server (With public IP Address)

    1. There should be no natting

    2. the web server must have a public IP address and be accessible from the internet.

3 ports can be blocked or re-opened.

Please let me know if its possible to conclude this agreement.

If so, can I get a command line sequence that allows this work.

    My version is

Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance Software Version 4,0000 5

    Version 6.4 Device Manager (9)

    Thanks in advance

  • Problems with P2P VPN with interface DHCP

I have properly configured a P2P VPN with two Cisco 888 using the static IP address. If I put a single interface to DHCP and the unit is power cycling it won't ask an IP address, until I have don't deliver "no card crypto " and bounce the interface.

Any ideas on how I can leave the card encryption in place and have the interface to get an IP address?

    Thanks in advance.

    With config like this:

    access ip-list 100 permit a whole

You are due ALL traffic is encrypted and expect to have to decrypt all traffic. That is traffic that is recived on the interface will be deleted unless they are encrypted.

  • Need SSL for ASA 5505 10 license with basic license - security plus license is necessary?

A salesman told me that one of my clients needs an upgrade to a security plus license before he can ask 10 SSL VPN licenses. I travelled the Cisco's Web site and could not find anything about it either, saying that. Nobody knows what it takes to go? Thank you.

I never installed them on a non - ASA SecPlus, but the documentation clearly indicates that it is supported:

  • Client VPN und Cisco asa 5505 tunnel work but no traffic

    Hi all

I am new to this forum and Don t have a lot of experience with Cisco, so I hope I can get help from specialists.

    I have the following problem:

I installed und konfigured ASA 5505 for use with vpn client. I would like to access the local network from outside through vpn.

To test, I installed ASA 5505 with ADSL (pppoe) and tried to give access to the internal network.

Of course whenever I have recive the supplier's different IP address, but it didn't is not a problem reconfigure in the vpn client.

After the connection is established (vpn tunnel work) I can see my external network packets. But I Don t have any connection to the internal network.

I erased my setup yesterday and tried to reconfigure ASA again. I didn t tested yesterday, because it was too late. And I know that I Don t have the authorization rule at present by the ACL. But I think I'm having the same problem again. (tunnel but no traffic).

What I did wrong. Could someone let me know what I have to do today.

With hope for your help Dimitri.

ASA configuration after reset and basic configuration: works to the Internet from within the course.

    Hello

Normally, you want a static public IP address on the ASA to allow it to receive connections from VPN clients (avoid to change the IP address all the time).

If you connect via VPN, check the following:

    1. the tunnel is established:

    HS cry isa his

    Must say QM_IDLE or MM_ACTIVE

    2 traffic is flowing (encrypted/decrypted):

    HS cry ips its

    3. Enter the command:

    management-access inside

And check if you can PING the inside ASA VPN client IP.

    4. check that the default gateway for the LAN internal ASA within intellectual property (or there is a road to the ASA to send traffic to the VPN clients).

    Federico.

  • IP address of the VPN client must demonstrate external IP of ASA 5505

    Hi guys,.

We have a small project with the Government which has some difficult requiment with security.

    Current situation;

1 site the Government has allowed a public IP address of our company to access their server in-house.

    2. in our office, staff can connect to their server using RDP by Cisco ASA 5505 I configured with two or three clicks.

    3. this ASA was outside (public) Government of authorized IP address.

    Request amended;

    1. given the increase in the tasks, our staff must have access to the Government of the home server.

    2. Government will not grant vpn access to them directly.

    3. they ask us to provide our staff VPN then RDP access to the Government site.

I have install VPN and it connects very well with no problems just for the connection itself.

But if I check using www.whatismyIPaddress.com, he demonstrated local IP address that they got by their ISP not CISCO ASA 5505 outside the interface.

The problem is unlike Microsoft ISA 2006 VPN which shows the external public IP address when a client connects to the VPN server, Cisco vpn client shows that it is the local IP address that is not in its list in the Government site.

I'm more like Ms. guy then Cisco as I did ' t have a lot of chances to play with Cisco, sorry about that.

Is that what I missed in the middle of config or needs a setting more to achieve this?

How can I make client VPN to show it's IP address to the interface of Cisco ASA rather than the IP address of the local ISP?

    Thanks in advance,

    Charlie

have you added "same-security-traffic permit intra-interface" like I said in the previous post?

  • ASA 5505 VPN sessions maximum 25?

    Hello friend´s

The company I work when acquired several ASA 5505, so now we will be able to connect several branches at Headquarters. But, now, I know that the ASA 5505 just scalates to 25 VPN sessions, I think that it won´t be enough to support the operations of an office. I have a lot of questions about this:

Is - what the number 25 menas supporting up to 25 L2L tunnels? Or it means 25 sessions, regardless of the amount of L2L tunnels?

Is this the way number 25 supporting up to 25 users in the Branch Office? Or it means that a user can use several sessions?

I'm the stage of testing in a laboratory where one PC connects to many applications, at - it now someone if there is a command in the SAA to check how many VPN sessions is used?

Please, do not hesitate to ask as much as necessary information. Any comments or document will be appreciated.

    Kind regards!

    Hi Alex,

The assistance session 25 ASA 5505 VPN as max for IKEv1 or IPSEC tunnels customers it could be up to 25 L2L tunnels or 25 users using ikev1 (Legacy IPSEC client) and another 25 sessions for Anyconnect or Webvpn in this case are used in function.

To check how many sessions VPN is currently running, run the command 'Show vpn-sessiondb' and 'display the summary vpn-sessiondb '.

Find the official documentation for the ASA5505 on the following link:

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/security/ASA-5500-series-next-generation-firewalls/datasheet-C78-733510.html

  • Problem with ASA 5505 VPN remote access

After about 1 year to have the VPN Client from Cisco connection to an ASA 5505 with no problems, all of a sudden one day it stops working. The customer is able to get a connection to the ASA and browse the local network for only about 30 seconds after the connection. After that, no access is available to the network behind the ASA. I have tried everything I can think of to try to solve the problem, but at this point, I'm just banging my head against a wall. Anyone know what could cause this?

Here is the cfg running of the ASA

  • ASA 5505 VPN Site to site with several networks

    Hello

I have a Cisco ASA 5505 configuration problem and hope you can help me.

Our company created a second facility, which must be connected using VPN to our headquarters.

I used the ASDM "Wizard of Site to site VPN" to create a connection, which works very well with our main network.

    Following structure:

    Headquarters:

Cisco ASA 5505, firmware 9.1, ASDM version 7.1

    Outside: Fixed IP

Inside: IP address of the interface is 192.168.0.1/24 (data network)

Now I have a second network 192.168.1.0/24 (VoIP network), PBX address is 192.168.1.10.

The two networks should be accessible through the VPN.

    New installation:

Cisco ASA 5505, firmware 9.1, ASDM version 7.1

    Outside: Fixed IP

Inside: IP address of the interface is 192.168.2.1/24

I have already created a connection until a PC of the new plant reaches the data network. For example, a ping from 192.168.2.100 to 192.168.0.100 is possible.

Now, I want to add some VoIP phones to the new facility, which can reach the PBX on 192.168.1.10.

In the link, I have already added the two networks as remote network:

    object-group network Testgroup network-object 192.168.0.0 255.255.255.0 network-object 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 access-list outside_cryptomap extended permit ip object-group Testgroup object Remote-Network

My problem now is, I don't know what to define as 'Bridge' on my PBX.

I can't use 192.168.0.1 because it's a different subnet. Also, I can not put a second IP 192.168.1.1 to the interface of the ASA.

You have any ideas, how can I accomplish this, so that the two subnets are accessed through the VPN and all devices have a defined gateway?

Could a "Easy VPN Remote" in "Network Mode" you help me?

What is the difference between 'Site-to-site' and 'extended network '?

    Kind regards

Daniel condition, look for the solution GmbH

You can optionally configure a new LAN VIRTUAL (VLAN PBX) on the SAA and connect this interface to the voice network.

If you do not have a spare on the ASA port, then Yes, you have a router to route traffic from the PBX to the ASA via the data network.

Yes, you will need to either configure split tunnel so that internet traffic goes out through your local Internet service provider, GOLD / directed by configuration current you are tunneling all traffic (internet traffic Inc.) to the ASA, then you will need to create NAT for internet traffic.

To set up a tunnel from split:

    split-acl access-list allowed 192.168.30.0 255.255.255.0

attributes of the Group mull strategy

    Split-tunnel-policy tunnelspecified

    Split-tunnel-network-list value split-acl

    I hope this helps.

    Hi Experts,

We have an ASA 5505 in our environment, and currently two IPSec VPN L2L tunnels are established. But we intend to connect with VPN (Network Extension Mode) easy to another site as a customer. Is it possible to configure easy VPN configurations by keeping the currently active IPSec L2L VPN(Site-to-Site) tunnels? If not possible is there any work around?

  • No Internet connectivity with ASA 5505 VPN remote access

    Hello

I configured ASA 5505 for remote access VPN to allow a remote user to connect to the Remote LAN officce. VPN works well, users can access Office Resource of LAN with sahred etc., but once they have connected to the VPN, they are unable to browse the internet?

Internet navigation stop working as soon as their customer VPN connect with ASA 5505 t, once they are disconnected from VPN, once again they can browse the internet.

Not ASA 5505 blocking browsing the internet for users of VPN? Is there anything else that I need congfure to ensure that VPN users can browse the internet?

I have to configure Split Tunnleing, NATing or routing for VPN users? or something else.

Thank you very much for you help.

    Concerning

    Salman

    Salman

What you run into is a default behavior of the ASA in which she will not route traffic back on the same interface on which he arrived. So if the VPN traffic arrived on the external interface the ASA does not want to send back on the external interface for Internet access.

You have at least 2 options:

-You can configure split tunneling, as you mention, and this would surf the Internet to continue during the use of VPN.

-You can set an option on the ASA to allow traffic back on the same interface (this is sometimes called crossed). Use the command

    permit same-security-traffic intra-interface

  • VPN connects not to Linksys 10/100 4-port VPN Router with ASA 5505

We are trying to get a new ASA 5505 implemented on our network after the untimely demise of our router from 1841.  One of the functions of the router that we go back to the top and the race is a pair of VPN for employees that we were working outside.  These are site-to-site virtual private networks.

They worked with the 1841 in place, so I know the other end works.  I just have configuration problems the ASA to match.  I have been through the wizard in ASDM a couple of times, but have yet to have a bit of luck that it connects.

Attached are the configuration files for the 1841 (with two virtual private networks) and the 5505 (with only 1 VPN in place).  Can someone help me with what I may be missing to get this working?

A note: I am having trouble with my NAT (another post in the meantime) configurations, but I think they are close enough that I hope that is not interfering with the VPN.

If I can get one running, the other has an almost identical game, so I should be able to get the second pretty easily.

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you

    Matt James

    Hello Mjames,

We hope that you do very well, just to confirm the previous post that I answer for you.

You need to change the NAT 0 configuration

NAT (outside) 0-list of access outside_nat0_outbound

This is the rule against the nat for VPN, please change it to:

NAT (inside) 0-list of access outside_nat0_outbound

I spent reviewing the configuration of both devices and which seems to be the only problem

    Please evaluate the useful messages.
