Aspire 5250 bios corrupted - solution

Steps to follow:

1. create a bootable USB key
You can do with a tool like Rufus: http://rufus.akeo.ie/
-Test the laptop starts with USB in place before the next steps
-If it starts, turn off the laptop and remove the USB

2. go to the Acer site
   http://us.Acer.com/AC/en/us/content/drivers

3. download 5250 BIOS/data files
-research on product model: Aspire 5250
-Note:
Download of the 5250 had only a file Q5WP6108_Silent.exe

* I had to turn of Comodo tool virus that blocked the download

After have downloaded you, right-click on it and extract the files to a folder
The only required file will be the Q5WP6X64.fd

4. download 7250 BIOS/data files there are two necessary files that exist
-research on product model: Aspire 7250
-Note:
The name of the zip file has been "BIOS_Acer_1.10_A_A.zip".

The files needed for these are:
FLA * beep * .exe and Update.bat

They can be found in: BIOS_Acer_1.10_A_A.zip\BIOS_Acer_1.10_Windows\DOS

5. place these files on the USB key:
FLA * beep * .exe
Update.bat
Q5WP6X64. FD

6. change the update.bat file and change the name of BIOS of the. FD to match filename of BIOS.
Example of Update.bat for the 5250 Aspire after chaning it:
OFF @ECHO
FLA * beep * Q5WP6X64.fd/s/all

7 plug the USB into the laptop, plug (consumption)

8 turn on the PC

9. update.bat type, then press on enter, then wait until it's over

It worked for me, good luck!

He did it again!   Another attempt: f l a s h i t (without space) point exe

  • Why is it not Aspire 5250 or 5749 on Windows 10 list?

I managed to install Windows 10 on my Aspire 5250 and Aspire 5749 notebook series. But it is not supported as a device Windows 10 who qualify for the free upgrade.

I also have my upgraded to Windows 10 XC603G Aspire desktop PC, and it is supported on the Acer website for the free update.

Anyone know why sucks it 5250 and Aspire 5749 are not included in Windows 10 support on the Acer website?

If windows 10 does not give you any problem, just stay with your versions of drivers; If you prefer to have everything updated, the only way is to search on manufacter (relatek, Intel, AMD, nvidia... etc) site on updates of drivers.

  • Aspire 5250 - maximum amount of RAM?

I have an Aspire 5250-0650 to be exact, with the following characteristics:

    AMD processor Dual-Core E450

    AMD Radeon HD 6320

    4 GB RAM DDR3

How can I determine the maximum amount of RAM that I can install? Also what speed? I would switch to 8 GB if it is possible and I am aware that it would use RAM SODIMM.

    Thanks for all the tips.

This model has 2 sockets DIMM supporting 4 GB memory per socket. The maximum size of memory supported by this model is 8 GB, it supports speed DIMM 800 / 1066 Mhz SDRAM DIMM voltage of + 1, 5V and package DIMM 204 PINS DDRIII SO-DIMM.

  • Aspire 5250 - Windows 10 drivers?

I have an Aspire 5250 that I purchsed with Windows 7 Home x 64 pre-installed. My system is qualified for the free update of Windows 10 and I installed Windows 10 yesterday. Now my system is Windows 10, I want to do a clean install of Windows 10 (I prefer a clean on an upgrade install, especially as it was always the original installation of up to 4 years).

When I go to the Aspire 5250 downloads page, I see that there is no option for Windows 10 drivers, only Windows 7 and 8. Then, I noticed an another help page that lists all the Acer systems that will receive assistance Windows 10 (such as drivers and utilities) and the 5250 Aspire wasn't on this list.

When I make my own installation, just use the drivers Windows 8?

    Thanks for all the tips.

There is no driver for Win 10 Acer support, be patient, in the meantime we need to use Win8 or 8.1 drivers.

HP recovery discs: I have them, but cannot use them because the DVD laser does not (CD only)

    Symptoms:

    • After reboot, the computer lights up and the fan works, but the screen is black
    • CTRL key flashes white light: 2 flashes, pause and repeat (BIOS corruption)

Hello, I'm recovering from the corruption of BIOS, hoping that it is not a failed mobo.

I downloaded the latest BIOS update for my system, but I can't this file to install on an external USB key using HP instructions to restore the BIOS.

To 1.11 step, I don't get the "HP system BIOS Update Utility" screen. Instead, I get this:

    My questions:

    1. is there an easy way to get this .exe on a USB? (I tried 3 computers and 3 cards USB, WTH then?)

    2. If not, can I just unzip and create a bootable USB in another program by copy/pasting the BIOS file?

    3. is there anything else I should try before flashing the BIOS?

Thanks in advance for your help. ^^

UPDATE: the "BIOS error" was in fact the video card that failed due to repeated overheating. The repair shop, replace the video card and repaired the overheating problem (I don't ask how), and my computer is like new.

For those who have a similar with their computer, my error "BIOS" problem (as it is coded by flashing lights of my computer) turns out to be a video card has failed.

The repair shop, said that what happens when computers overheat frequently, which mine did. Thus, they have changed the video card and solved the overheating problem, and my computer is in working condition.

  • Satellite A200 - 1 CG PSAE3E: BIOS corrupted - solved with the crisis recovery disk

    Hi all

I would like to report on the success of the recovery of corrupted bios on my Satellite A200 - 1 CG (PSAE3E).
Like many others I downloaded a latest bios update for my laptop and it started under Windows 7 64-bit.

In fact I only needs of some practical information from the bios update tool, but the update started automatically
without a question. :( After several blocks has been updated the progress bar stuck a heterocycle.
In 2 minutes, I got only the system completely frozen. I turned off the system manually, it works again, and...
my laptop was completely dead: screen etc black and of course, I wasn't able to boot in Windows 7.

So for those who only plans to update the bios: DO NOT update the BIOS ON the SATELLITE UNDER WINDOWS! THE UPDATE MAY BE STUCK!

I searched on the web has found a solution. With a specially created disk and external usb floppy drive, the problem can be solved then

I tried the recovery procedure described here, but it did not help. Earlier versions of tool phlash16.exe
where it is not able to restore the bios. I heard that the disk was read constantly for about 2 minutes. After the recommended 5 min break, I changed the power of and then turned back on it and... I had the same darkness of the screen as before :(

The strange thing is that the latest version of the tool phlash16.exe also did not work, but it was different from the earlier version. If I used the older version of the tool, the disk has been read for about 2 min, if used the latest version of the disk was read for about 10 seconds. It was for me, as the bios was not simply read by the tool.

So I searched and searched again. Then I found it: it takes phlash.ini to the phlash16.exe!
I downloaded an old bios (something from 2007) for an unknown Toshiba laptop to the Toshiba site. I renamed both the archive and found a phlash.ini inside. I changed only the second line in the ini file of... = 0 to... = 1 (I guess).

Then I formatted the diskette under dos, copied the minidos.sys he phlash16.exe (latest version), a new bios for my laptop in BIOS. WPH (I guess) and after a phlash.ini has been fixed. After that, I started the crisis recovery makeboot.exe utility (found on the site, which I mentioned earlier). After that, I have the phone in recovery mode (Fn + B) bootet and... It worked like a charm. So, the important thing was the phlash.ini!

So for those who has the same problem with corrupt bios, I've had: it's phlash.ini and the latest version of the tool phlash16.exe.
All other information can be retrieved on the web site, which I mentioned earlier. The described method works with the phoenix bios!

    So good Look

    Kind regards
    Igor

    Thanks for the friend information
But to be honest, the procedure of BIOS is always a sensitive issue and I would be always careful in using such things.

When even good to know that your device is running again!

  • Satellite U400 - 112 (PSU40E) - Safe BIOS upgrade - SOLUTION

    Dear all,

Trying since long upgrade for the bios of my laptop favorite... Toshiba Satellite U400-112 (PSU40E)
I have Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit) English and BIOS version 4.00(until yesterday).
The problem was that, in windows 7 (32 & 64 bit), the tool flash never started the process of update due to several incompatibilities.
There is a solution (in fact a workaround solution) to be honest and works 100%!

    My solution is:

    (A) download the latest bios upgrade version appropriate for your laptop, save it (tomake it is easier in the root of the C:\ drive) and unpack it in a temporary folder (for example: bios).

    (B) use the Hiren's Boot CD a real support from a USB or CD (download and burn a CD or follow the process of CD copy on a USB key).

    (C) boot the laptop from the CD or USB flash and in Hiren's Boot Menu, select the version of mini Windows XP.

    (D) allow completely Windows XP startup and then run the tool to update the bios flash from the temporary folder. The update procedure make it exactly as it is described in the manual of the bios update. (If you are not experienced)

    (E) it will update the bios, and then he stops himself. Then you can start normally your operating system, remove any CD or USB key mounted on it.

I hope you find it helpful and convenient.

    Best regards

    Ioannis

To be honest I updated the BIOS on my U400 (running Win 7 32 bit), A210 (Vista) and Tecra A10 (Win 7 64 bit) using the victory as the BIOS version and never had any problems in running the tool
Anyway thanks for sharing your knowledge with the community
