• Loud buzzing noise VN7 - 791-G [+ audio clip]

  For the last two weeks that I had trouble with a very loud hum staticky coming from the lower left corner of my Aspire VN7 - 791 G (left of the Tablet under the keyboard) when the machine is under load (working in game engines and play games, mainly). I've had this laptop for a little over a year and never had this problem before. Side software, everything seems fine, I have not noticed any FPS fall or freezes / crashes or something of the sort. I get an occasional blue screen, but those who are very rare after all drivers and updates to BIOS (power of State failure or something like that).

  The hum seems louder depending on the workload. If I close all active programs, the noise tends to remain constant for couple minutes, then he calms down gradually until it is completely silent.

  So, I have good news...

  In a last effort attempt, I decided to open my laptop and remove the front left speaker, because I was almost certain that it is the noise. I unplugged the mobo, unscrewed it and removed from the chassis. I tried all day and I can confirm that the hum is GONE now!

  It's kinda something hacky that I have now only 3 speakers instead of 4, but I'm just happy that I am able to reuse this thing in the workplace. CE marking as resolved.

  After doing a lot of research I decided to purchase the aspire v17 nitro, the problem is, I don't know what the last digits in the average. I want that whoever has the camera realsense and blu - ray player. I keep going in circles on google, I called the store sucks and the guy told me that they do not have them. g vn7 - 791 - 792 has exactly the specs I want, but I prefer the blu ray player, nobody knows what number this particular machine has, or can anyone confirm that they do or that you do not make them? I also read about 5th gen 1-7 news on this?

  Hello community, first post here, I recently bought a couple of new laptops Acer E-series for a few friends on the market and were overall very pleased with the quality and performance, so in my search for a new laptop found an Acer Nitro that I am interested to buy.  However, the specifications that the list of suppliers (QVC) vary slightly between the specifications of Acer's official website.

  The model is VN7 - 791 G-76GA

  and here's my confusion...

  QVC says that the GTX960M gpu is 4 GB dedicated memory,

  Although Acer precise specifications to have 2 GB dedicated but still the 960M.

  I contacted QVC before ordering to confirm and the representative on the phone said that it was in fact 4 GB memory gpu.

  Can anyone help clarify for me if there are two versions of this model with varying amounts of memory gpu?

When I start to play a game, the cooling fans is really strong, it begins to spin at very high speed and FPS is really low while the fans are so strong. For example the 'normal' it the condition works CS 120-130 FPS, fans work but not annoyingly loud and it is time when the fans are really really very strong and in the game, I have 20-30 FPS.   I upgraded my old laptop to a VN7 - 791 G that came with a 60 GB SSD and 1 TB of"relief".

  I doubt that the repair of Acer in your neighborhood Center would do that sort of thing, I know that we are not here to the United States. If the client wants to put a SSD in their unit, it is for them to do, or they can take to a local technician to do, but Acer would not support the SSD upgrade as if not delivered with him. You can check, but I want to just make sure that your expectations are defined.

• Problems of crash with the series Aspire V Nitro Black Edition VN7-791

  Good so I got a nitro V Aspire as a gift at Christmas time and was pretty excited about it but there was a lot of problems with it. From the first day I got it, it crashed when running a game on high graphics. This problem persisted six months as a market shutdown problem. What happens in general, is running the game sort of lag, juttering even using the Nivida graphics, then the screen will cut to black and it turns off. If I hit the power, but it turns red lights under the keyboard for a fraction of a second but turns then off. It usually takes about 20 minutes for the laptop computer to actually turn it on again.

  It becomes just more boring as the days go by, someone else has this problem and if so how do solve you this problem?

  You are of course is a temperature problem? It's a 791G, so it is larger than the 591G and he shouldn't have any problems of limitation. Have you tried to monitor your temperature, frequency of the CPU clock, CPU and GPU use? You should do this before assuming that is might be a temperature problem. Also are running your fans?

  If you are certain that it is a problem of temperature and your fans to operate as it is expected that you can try to use a coolingpad and change the thermal paste on the CPU and the GPU. This last suggestion will definitely improve the problem.

  However, I quite doubt it's a CPU/GPU temperature problem because in the first place it would throttle and not sudden turn off your computer. They have a lot of build protection against overheating and stopping suddenly to protect components is the last option of these protection mechanisms. Honestly, I expect that you have some sort of other problem or for a reason, that your fans do not work correctly, or you have a lot of dust in the cooling system.

  I use my 591G (4720HQ and 960M), and even when I do intense Bioinformatics (using the GPU for the calculation of all cores of CPU, at 100% use) I never had the problem with the stop suddenly. And believe me no game can put such stress on your phone except comparative analysis of the applications. I have problems with regulating heat, but never had a problem with the sudden stop and is a smaller laptop with less space, so smaller air flow and worse cooling than the 791G that has the same configuration.

  Whenver I play CSGO I need to plug my laptop in order to get high FPS. When it is plugged I usually get about 150-200 images per second. I think that I'm not getting the most out of my money, because as soon as I unplug my laptop, my fps drops to 30 images/s flat in the game and stays there.

  I searched on google and most people drive tell me to change the battery with high performance options, but I think that when I change the option it only the applys to my integrated graphics card. I don't think it's to recognize my Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 m.

  I don't know if this will help but here goes nothing. Go to the program of The Experience of Geforce of NVIDIA and under the Tab Preferences, you will find a BatteryBoost on the left side. Turn it on and set the slider to the right or turn it off to keep the card running at full lvls. This is just speculation, but give it a try.
