DVD/RW drive does not-Asus DRW - 2014L1T
Can think of me as an intermediate to advanced windows user, so don't be afraid to talk about the details.
I have no idea why the DVDRW stopped working. The only available drivers seem to be 2008, compatible with windows vista only. For some reason windows is affecting my one CD-ROM/DVD-Rom device driver 2006, called 'DTSOFT VIrtual CdRom Device' and this seems to be the only one that it finds in the search and the only compatible.Seems to be a thing of windows 8, has functioned well when I got windows 7. I'm under Win 8 Pro.Hello
Give it a try and see if it helps...
1. run the command as administrator prompt. Place your pointer on the lower left and right when click 'Start' appears. It will be on the list that opens.
2. type or copy / paste the following and press enter
Reg.exe add "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\atapi\Controller0" / f/v EnumDevice1 /t REG_DWORD /d 0x00000001
3. Type Exit and press ENTER.
4. restart the system.

Find the audio device Intel SST for Asus T100 5.1 drivers
I've got Intel ESS Audio Device (WDM) installed on my computer, I was wondering if I could get an audio driver that works with 5.1 spekers, as does Realtek HD. Any suggestions?
Hello Mosvord,
Thank you for your response.
I suggest you to download and install the update for the Intel driver utility.
It will automatically identify and find drivers. It keeps your system up-to-date. It detects the driver updates are relevant to your computer, and then helps you install quickly and easily.
See this link:

DVD burner does not recognize a DVD + RW
I recently bought a DVD burner, after getting advice from Dell, to replace the original equipped DVD ROM (?) in my Dell Dimension 4500, so that I could record my video movies on DVD discs.
The DVD burner, I was recommended is the ASUS DRW - 2014L 1 and this was provided by one of the "registered partners" from Dell. Unfortunately, this "Registered Partner" was useless, aggressive & dismissive to all after sales help or advice, where my request on this forum for assistance or advice.
I had no trouble to record my videos on blank DVDs DVD - RW drives, but when you try to use DVD + RW discs (to use in my Sony Home DVD drive), the drive will not recognize them. Both the + RW & - RW discs are brand new Maxell disks, the RW - 1-2 x speed, single-sided 4.7 GB & the + RW 1-4 x speed, single-sided 4.7 GB.
When there is no record of any type in the DVD drive, it shows in my computer as: DVD - RAM Drive (D). When a DVD - RW disc is inserted it changes to: CD Drive (D) with an icon of DVD - RW & this is also confirmed when I check on the properties.
However, when you insert a DVD + RW and the DVD - RAM Drive (D) going to Drive (D) CD, as with the DVD - RW, no icon is displayed to indicate the drive is recognized, or it appears in the properties.
As far as I can determine from the card, the ASUS DRW - 2014 L 1 is designed for both + & - DVD.
I'd appreciate any help or advice... or am I just dumb?
Thank you
Tony

In fact, the cdrom.sys should be the 'original' driver and the PxHlpa64.sys, which is a third-party driver may be the problem.
To try to correct the problem, try following the steps under "Windows 7 or Windows Vista" or "Windows XP", if you use XP, in the MS KB article:

These measures, to remove the UpperFilters and LowerFilters, values if they exist, in the registry key named can help.
Create a System Restore Point beforehand and restart the computer later.

Problem installing Windows 7: drivers needed
I try to perform a clean installation of Windows 7 on a 250 GB hard drive which is perfectly clean. Windows asks a driver for my ASUS DRW-2014L1T optical drive before it can proceed with the installation. The ASUS site offers only a few firmware for this model, and none of them are same for Windows 7 (vista is the more recent they are). In addition, the firmware are in .exe format which makes me think they are intended to be installed on a machine with Windows already installed. So, do you know of any ways to get around this problem? Is there generic drivers that I could install?
Thanks for any help,
Nate
Hey Nate,
· How many drivers DVD the computer have?
· Is ASUS DRW-2014L1T internal or external drive?
If the computer has an another DVD player, I suggest to use the DVD player and try to install Windows 7.
For reference:

Hello
I recently installed the drivers of the Motion of my installation of Labview 2014 now and my 2014 "Device Drivers" DVD freezes just after it starts. Happens to the popup 'Welcome to Labview' and then it locks the mouse cursor and is sitting there taking 5% of the processor.
I'm on 64-bit Windows 8. All my files are the that is I do not use mapped network drives.
Finally, it crashes with the following error message:
I tried:
(1) fix the installation through my installation media.
(2) uninstall all software from OR through the Control Panel, restarting and re - install through my installation media.
(3) uninstall all software from OR via MSIBlast, delete all the registry keys OR by rebooting and reinstall through my installation media.
(4) uninstall all software from OR via MSIBlast, delete all the registry keys, restart and reinstall the last LV 2014 SP1 from the Web site of NOR
Nothing seems to solve this problem and now I'm really to the top of the Creek.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I got it fixed. I have no idea why it would work, but here's what I did.
-Reinstalled LV 2014. Problem was still there.
-Uninstalled all via the control panel.
-Remove the following registry trees
HKEY_CURRENT_USE\Software\National Instruments
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\National Instruments
-Reboot
-J' found always had a repertoire of Instruments of \National C:\Program Files (x 86), so I removed that.
-Installed LV 2013 who then worked.
-LV2013 uninstalled via the control panel. Delete the directory C:\Program Files (x 86) of Instruments \National again. (Not sure if this was necessary, but I wanted to see if a previous version worked)
-Reinstalled LV2014 latest version via download.
Problem is now solved.

What is the model of your Asus system and audio drivers and wireless models? Have you tried to go to the website of the manufacturer of the hardware? (For example, if your wireless card is a card Intel going on their site of drivers)

This 'FBAgent.exe' tool is installed in the Windows\System32 and comes from ASUS, the maker of your PC. It is called "Asus Autoupdate Agent". It displays an icon in the notification bar that allows you to automatic updates of your bios and firmware of the devices in your PC (Ethernet LAN, wireless LAN, Bluetooth, ATI or nVidia graphics card, / mouse pads, webcam, card reader chip, battery checker, CPU, power management settings, CPU tweak/turbo mode...), as well as download the drivers updated on Windows for these devices builtin most commercial software drivers (such as the Asus online and backup storage).
It is pre-installed on Asus laptops. Very few updates will be made. By default it will check updates once per day, but given the rarity of these updates (except after the initial installation after purchase of your Asus PC), you can configure it to check the updates only once per month (using the menu shown when you right-click the notification icon). You can also choose to not start at boot time and run it from the menu programs, only when you want (once per month, you can support the run manually and save startup time and resource the rest of the time). You can leave the program at any time after you have checked these updates, so you can delete safely programs started automatically. If you have a problem with it, reinstall it by going to the Asus website and download an updated version. Maybe it has been altered by another program or you have blocked runing normally using another unrelated tool (or third-party security suite) who didn't know what it was.And anyway, it is better to avoid MacAfee. Too complex for most users, too CPU intensive. Consider using another antivirus more simple that is always very reliable, with quick updates (I recommend Avast) and very few false positives. (McAfee has a problem: he asks often too many questions, to which you responded the wrong way, and there is no easy way to return to the default configuration). The Asus update tool is safe, as it is the original and has not been changed. That's why I suggest you reinstall download trom the Asus.com website (support /download, and select the model of your PC and get the list software).Perform all necessary updates by using Asus updates, downloading other drivers/optional programs from Asus. -
I know there have been quite a few posts on this topic in other forums as well as this one, but none of the proposed solutions have solved my problem.
I did a clean install of Windows 8 on my Intel SSD (c), I have a secondary 1 to (e) and an external USB 3.0 drive (f). I normally have a D: drive to the DVD player. I installed WIndows 8 via an installation DVD I created from the downloaded installer. I was able to complete a clean install.
I used Windows 8 without any problem until I got a DVD with pictures (photos from my wedding!) in my computer. Then I realized that my D: drive was no longer there... I rebooted thinking it was a fluke. I tried to use several other CD/DVD, but no matter what I did the DVD player was not appear.
First thing, I thought that if he did not have a drive letter assigned, then I went into computer management / disk management and the DVD Player did not show up. I see in Device Manager: CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drives > ASUS DRW-24B1ST. It has a yellow! symbol on the disc. I uninstalled the driver, rebooted, and he had the yellow!.
I went to ASUS website and tried to install the driver but received an error message that the device was not found. So I tried manually updating the driver but get this message ' Windows found driver software for your device, but has encountered an error trying to install it. " Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19) »
I found a forum post referencing the registry providing this command "reg.exe add"HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\atapi\Controller0"/ f/v EnumDevice1 /t REG_DWORD /d 0x00000001" I ran this command as an administrator, restarted my computer, but still do not have a functional driver.
Anyone know how I can "adjust" the registry so that this DVD player will appear and be usable again? I don't think there is an error with the drive itself since it was used to install windows 8 and has been very well supported. I have to check that it is correctly connected to the motherboard as well.
Thanks for all your help!
FIXED!
I found the solution! So my post above will make me look like an idiot now, but the ASUS technical support has been incredible and provided a fix! It 100% corrected my problem and my DVD drive appears in the workstation again.
Here are the instructions that they sent me. I don't know if this is specific to the ASUS DRW-24B1ST drive, or if this will fix the problem with any DVD player.
Click on start--> run, type "regedit" and click OK
Expand the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE key (it looks like a folder) by double clicking it (or clicking on the '+' next to it.)
Expand the SYSTEM key
Expand the CurrentControlSet key
Expand the control key
Expand the class key
Please look for a key containing the following string of letter and numbers: {4D36E965-E325-11CE - BFC1 - -
CD now show as blank discs?
Hello and thanks in advance for any help.
I was sent a few CD courses and a few weeks ago that they were read fine but now when I load get them the "AutoPlay" dialog box that only gives me the option to burn a blank CD?When I go in my computer it shows my DVD RW drive and a picture of a CD - R. The CD shows 702 MB 702 MB free space.
Left click brings up a dialog box "burn a disc". How would you use this disk. What is strange, is that these CD worked initially, so how can suddenly be virgins?
My computer is relatively new (2 months)
ASUS DRW - 24B3ST ATA (status of the device: this device does not work correctly) I also checked that I use the updated drivers.
ASUS motherboard chipset H61
Intel Core i5
Microsoft Windows 7
HIS graphics cardAny help will be appreciated as I am at a loss to explain it?
TammyHi timtam1970,
How old are the CD? Not when you have them, but do you know if this is old software?
If the cd shows empty in other systems, it is empty. Don't forget the cds may fail as well.
I would check on a different system just to be certain.

Cannot add a subitem to chronology (locks up if I try)
This is what happens:
Take a main clips brand to create a subclip, and am able to name it. I can also create a secondary subelement as well and even to save my progress. However if I try to add both line CC PP freezes and I get a helping hand closed with strikethrough below circle and the program stops working period. The only option I have is to manually close the program by the Task Manager. I have not had a problem until this last update, there seems to be a bug in the patch.

HP Officejet 4500 G510g-m it not install full feature driver software w/Solution Center
I work for four days, try to install it, once again, my Officejet 4500 full package. And the frustrating thing is that the installer says that all of the software, with the exception of imaging and web printing, is installed. This includes the Solution Center. Yet, the center of Solution is not found anywhere else on my system.
I work with a Windows 7 Ultimate A55MH; 2.90 GHz AMD A8 - 3850 APU with graphics card Radeon HD;
cache 512 KB memory primary; cache memory secondary 4096 kilobytes; Tip: BIOSTAR Group A55MH

WDC WD3200JS-22PDB0 [hard drive] (320,07 GB).
There is no reason that my system should not be qualified to run this printer/scanner and all software fair that goes with it. So, what, according to you, is the question? Is it me, or is this HP? Please, be honest with your answer...
Hi djbillyd,
Thanks for letting me know that the printer installed correctly on other computers.
Follow this post from @SuperMario1 to remove the printer files from the registry.
Driver HP deskjet D2300 series does not not in windows 7.
It's a different model, but it provides instructions to dig dip into the registry and get all of the HP software from the system.
You can also run the Microsoft Fix it Tool to the problems that programs cannot be installed or uninstalled.
Let me know the results.
Thank you.

Dear users and developers, I chose to accept the option available in the hub: send a reduced version of the attached photos. I think that since then, so each photo portrait [unpublished] raw is turned 90 degrees. As if they lose the job information.
