Asus or Gigabyte video card

1. I'm upgrading for GeForce GTX 660Ti for my first Pro CS5 projects. Is the Asus better than the Gigabyte (as my computer dealer says it is)?

2 - is important if the video card has 2 GB memory GDDR5 (Asus) or 3 GB memory GDDR5 (gigabyte)?

3. I've also will be upgrading 6 GB of RAM 24 GB. It would also make sense to upgrade my CPU which is clocked at 2.6 GHz i7 2nd generation (2 years). My computer dealer said that it would cost about $300 for something that could make a significant difference (i7 3.6 GHz 3rd Gen), in order to stay where I am with the CPU.

Thanks for the help these 3 questions.

In General, it's like this:

  • First gen i7, i7 - 9xx works on a platform 1366 and uses either 12 or 24 GB on the 6 DIMM slots.
  • 2nd gen i7, as i7-2600 runs on a platform of 1155 and use either 16 or 32 GB on the DIMM Slots 4.
  • 3 - rd gen i7 - as i7-3770 runs on the same platform and use either 16 or 32 GB on 4 DIMM slots.
  • Sandy Bridge E, as the i7-39xx runs on platform of 2011 and uses either 32 or 64 GB on 8 DIMM slots.

1155 is two-channel memory, so use 2 or 4 slots, 1366 is triple channel memory so use 3 or 6 slots, 2011 is quad channel memory, so use 4 or 8 locations.

  • I have integrated a video card: Intel 82865 G, which doesn't have a driver for Windows 7. What can I do? Please help me

    My computer details:
    Processor Intel P4 3.2 GHz Hyper-Threadin
    1 GB of RAM
    ASUS motherboard
integrated video card type: Intel 82865 G 128 MB

I guess that the integrated video card works in VGA mode low resolution so that you can use the computer.

Have you checked the Intel site and run Windows Update to search for a driver?

If there is no driver, you can add a video card in the PCI or AGP in the computer slot.

    Roger,

    I'm glad to hear that.

Just to let you know, it is often the case with the monitors.

They will be the "default"setting, but still have the correct driver.

Yes the supported list is just what Adobe has tested at home. There is no restriction of performance based on the supported list.

  • Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD7 video card + raid card?

I've been looking over some of the new motherboards socket 1155 and found that this Gigabyte card allows more lanes (2 x 16 pci 2.0). Not this Committee would make a video card and a raid card?

    http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3646#SP

Incorrect answer. Read it carefully, the PCI-e slots share bandwidth, so it's 8 x and x 8 or x 16 4 x more, etc. There are only 20 channels available for both locations. For the video you want x 16, so everything what he leaves is 4 x.

So I thought about upgrading my videocard alienware x 51 but I just need some help, I was wondering if this card could work on my system

    My current features are:

    Intel i5 - 4430 CUP @3.00 GHz

    GeForce GTX 645

My diet is the 240w, but I'm honestly not sure if it could be 330w that I bought the computer some time ago and reinstalled windows. I don't know exactly where to check the watts well. :/

but the card, I was told to buy this card

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 Mini ITX overclocked to 4GB GDDR5 PCiE video card GV-N970IXOC-4GD

So I was wondering if this card will work with my computer, thanks in advance

You should look at reference GPU. Examples below.

PNY, ASUS, MSI, EVGA, etc. (you can google for the rest).

My vote goes to the PNY GTX 970.

You have the PSU 240w with you that 330w POWER supply was only for the 660, 670 GTX GTX / GTX 760 ti GTX 960 and R9 270 (x). You should not for the GTX 970 330w POWER supply. You can buy a Dell or newegg.

This is the fo the computer manuals:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?cc=us & LC = on & DLC = in & Product = 4065873

Look at the manual illustrated parts & Service card.  It tells you which components will be fit.

I think that the card fits.  You will need to check with the manufacturer to see if the power supply has enough power to complete.  It is 240W.

  • Problem upgrading the h8-1409 HP Envy video card problem

    Hello.

I just bought this machine and it has a good processor and ram good, but it comes with a card missing video (HD7570).  I want to upgrade the video card at one of the best maps I have of my old machines (Gigabyte GTX 660 ti and an Evga GTS 250).  When I install one of these cards but, I get no video output.  I can hear the initialization of the system and the hard drive works, so everything seems fine here.

This machine comes with a 460W power supply, which should be enough to run one of these cards, but no go.  In order to exclude food, I tried on a secondary market, OCZ 600W PSU, but got the same result.  Two cards work in my old machine, so I know that the cards are good.

The specifications of the main Board are here:

    http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/document.jsp?objectID=c03132942

As far as I know, it should work.  Is there something I'm missing?

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

Only use one video card in your PC and make sure that it is installed in the PCI-E x 16 slot.

Boot in the bios (ESC and F10) and go to security topics. Try each of the topics and search a secure Boot Configuration.  If it exists, then see if Secure Boot is disabled.  A poster said that secure boot disabling enabled the installed video card. I have not tried this on a HP active UEFI motherboard but I know that it isn't a problem with another mother UEFI card that I use.  Your mileage may vary.

  • Qosmio G30-141: Question on the use of an external video card

    Hello world!

Is - anyone know something about external video for toshiba card notes? Like Asus XG Station, Village Tronic ViDock Gfx Pro or AMILO GraphicBooster.

Will be toshiba develop & manufacture a similar device like them? My rating is Qosmio F30-141 & I want to play the GRID, GTA IV, NFS Shift in high resolution with all the spec.effects.

Now I play GRID on the resolution 640 x 480 & medium quality). Nice game IMHO.

PS PS3 & XBOX360? No reason to buy them for my 2-3 cheaper than the console games.

    Hello

I doubt that the external video card could provide enough power to play these games
You can connect these via the USB port video cards and I think that the USB port cannot transfer this huge amount of data that would be needed to play games with all the details
In addition, the graphics card upgrade is not possible on laptops

I have a desktop PC and laptop. I always use the desktop PC for games.
The components are easy to update and I can build a game machine clean with the best GPU, motherboard, and processor.

    Hello

Press the ESC key after turning on the PC and then go to computer Setup (f10).  Now, go to the topics of security, click Security Configuration and make sure that this secure boot is disabled. You may also activate the mode of inheritance according to the video card bios and compatibility with the bios of HP.

  • Update video card with Pavilion H8-1214

I have a HP Pavilion HPE H8-1214 with 6 X AMD970 chipset of the motherboard Gigabyte M3970AM, 10 GB memeory with an AMD Radeon HD7450 graphics card. It works really well, with the exception of the video card, which is usually the pint of starter in over-the-counter computers. I bought a power supply 600W for extra power and PCI-E cable; the installation went well and the computer still works well.

    HOWEVER...

Bought and tried an AMD R7-260 at Best Buy, which is a compatible card PCI-E x 16. No love, died in the start screen.

Tried an AMD R5-240, still no love & dies to the start screen.

Tried a 690 Nvidia it (what is said HP IS compatible) - died still in the start screen.

Finally got a Nvidia 610 to run there, but it's not better than than the AMD Radeon HD 7450.

Is there something that I am missing? BIOS has been flashed to 7.16, it's all clean and works very well with the 7450. Suggestions, please and thank you!

You are welcome.  Thank you for the additional information.

HP makes a great computer.  Therefore, it does not surprise me that is to be reliable and durable.

Here's a video card made by MSI that has a switch that will allow him to work with legacy and UEFI BIOS' are.  The only problem is the length.  It is 9.84 "in length.  You can make a model of the size of the card to see if it will enter in the space provided for this purpose.  There's a video directly below the image of the map.  Paul of Newegg did a good job of describing the map.

  • Advice to upgrade the video card on a6460t

I have the Intel 2 Quad CPU @ 2.5 GHz, 4 GB of RAM.  I just got Microsoft Flight Simulator software & it tells me I have to update my current video adapter (Intel GMA 3100) to something that is DX10.  I understand that I must keep in mind power, type of available locations & size of the Board of directors when I update.  It's WAY over my head...  Can someone give me some ideas of what the video card upgraded to?  Something under $110?

    Hello

This is a form oflink to your motherboard .

a PCIe X 16 video card is what you need.

Anything on this page should be sufficient. Just look at the specifications to ensure that the card is DX10 compliant, they are all under $ 100.00

Try to buy only a great brand. (ASUS, XFX, Sparkle)  They actually have web support. I can't guarantee any video cards. They all use reference chipset design approved and provided by ATI or NVIDIA as the case may be.

Upgrading to a power supply 500W-400 is a good idea. Corsair and OCZ make great PSU. Search the ATX12V v2.2 because this means that it will be all required cables and connectors for video cards available at the modern more (at this time).

    Kind regards

  • A discrete video card selection guide

Hello.. I need to know if the graphics card "card Asus STrix-GTX960-DC20C-4GD5-Graphic" is properly suited to my system "HP Pavilion 500-222ix" with Memphis S micro-atx motherboard. It's a video card double slot and I do not know he'll go nice and easy, but kindly confirm so that I can go ahead and buy it.

    @Mr-LogiCkal, welcome to the forum.

If it's the video card you want to buy, it should fit without any problem.  It's only 8,47 "length.  However, it will take a power supply (PSU) upgrade, too.  The power supply of the computer is only 300W and does not have the extra power cable (power consumption: up to 150W-1, additional 6-pin PCIe consumption) required by the card.  I love Corsair products and recommend at least 500W; 600W would be even better.  A modular power supply is good for smaller cases.  This allows you to use only the cables that are absolutely necessary, create better air circulation.
