If so, you must change both settings in the BIOS.

You have to enable the legacy mode and disable the secure startup before you install your video card no HP.

  • Z640: Upgraded the video card to 1070 GTX. I have to upgrade power supply?

My Z640 has a supply of poer 925w but the power plug 6 pins only I think remaining is not enough to feed my 1070 GTX video card in use heavt. It requires care supply 2 x 8 pins and adapter I installed is not always able to provide enough power. HP chat support wasn't any help. Do I need to install a new power supply that provides power sheets 8 pin pci-e?

    @MacTheSteve, welcome to the forum.

This is Service and Maintenance Guide for the workstation.

I contacted StarTech to see if they would have an adapter 'Y' which had two 8-pin power connectors.  However, those that they should be the following on your motherboard or the power supply:

StarTech Brandon: basically, there are 4 SATA power or LP4 molex.

I believe that your diet is enough power, but simply do not have the required connectors.  At least, I don't the seen on the diagram of the motherboard.  It seems that you need to upgrade the PSU.

I saw the specifications of your computer.  He has only two PCI Express X 16 slots for video cards. one is available.  There are three ways that you can go: 1) buy another video card to fill the vacant unit 2) buy a USB video adapter or 3) buy a nVidia Quadro or another workstation that supports multiple video cards.

You should make sure that the power supply unit (PSU) has enough power to run two or more cards.

  • 550-153w Pavilion: new video card

Hello, I want to get the ram dedidcated to my graphic card of 256 and its 128 right now. Ive read in another post on the forum that it would be better to get another (goo.gl/Z4F0f1). I was wondering what would be the best video card to get for this need.

    @ShepardPotato, welcome to the forum.

The problem that you have with the upgrade the video card is the power supply unit (PSU).  It's only 180W.  Most new video cards require a minimum of 400 w to work properly.  You should check to see if a stanard ATX PSU will enter in the space provided for the existing power supply.  If there is enough space, this power supply should work.  You should get this one measures of the plug.

When you upgrade the PSU, here is a video card that will make what you need.  If you need more information, you should contact the manufacturer's Technical Support.

I'm not a computer genius and have done my research on why it won't work. We have made the driver updates. Its current specifications are http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId.... I know that wasn't the best choice for him but I don't know why it is not compatible or does not work. The recommended power supply is 400 Watt and it has a 600 Watt

The original computer was WIN7, circa 03/2012, with a BIOS rev 7.16.  It is not scalable to rev8 UEFI BIOS, what is needed for new graphics cards. Your only choice is to find a riser, or with Legacy/UEFI BIOS switch.

    This list is not complete.

  • Advice to upgrade the video card on a6460t

I have the Intel 2 Quad CPU @ 2.5 GHz, 4 GB of RAM.  I just got Microsoft Flight Simulator software & it tells me I have to update my current video adapter (Intel GMA 3100) to something that is DX10.  I understand that I must keep in mind power, type of available locations & size of the Board of directors when I update.  It's WAY over my head...  Can someone give me some ideas of what the video card upgraded to?  Something under $110?

    Hello

This is a form oflink to your motherboard .

a PCIe X 16 video card is what you need.

Anything on this page should be sufficient. Just look at the specifications to ensure that the card is DX10 compliant, they are all under $ 100.00

Try to buy only a great brand. (ASUS, XFX, Sparkle)  They actually have web support. I can't guarantee any video cards. They all use reference chipset design approved and provided by ATI or NVIDIA as the case may be.

Upgrading to a power supply 500W-400 is a good idea. Corsair and OCZ make great PSU. Search the ATX12V v2.2 because this means that it will be all required cables and connectors for video cards available at the modern more (at this time).

    Kind regards

    ERICO

  • Satellite L100 - 121 PSLA0: can I change the motherboard with a better video card?

Is it possible to change the motherboard for a Toshiba Satellite L100-121 PSLA0, which is a 945GMA of Intel graphics card, with a motherboard with the best video card, or just the video card?

I want a better video card on my laptop, so I can change it?

    Hello

You cannot move the graphics card because it s mounted on the motherboard.
He welded s and cannot be deleted

But I wonder why you want to replace the mobo together to get the best graphics card. Is that a card mother books is one of the expensive laptop parts.
The replacement would cost about 300-400 euros.

I think a desktop PC with a new graphics card would be much cheaper ;)

  • upgrade the video card in Compaq Presario CQ3539IN desktop pc

IM planning to buy ati radeon hd 5550 or hd 4650 ddr3 1 GB card graphics card my 250w PSU is it compatible Please help my motherboard is the motherboard Μatx-I41-H (Eton)? What is the best graphics card suitable for my motherboard? other suggestions for graphics card?

You need to upgrade PC's POWER supply at least a 400 watt unit.

Or video cards will not work with a 250 Watt power supply installed in your computer.

The minimum requirement of the system for the HD 4650 is 350 Watts and the card HD 5550 requires 300 Watts.

  • HP Pavilion H8-1017 cb: video card upgrade or get a new computer

I plan to install a new video card and power supply to support a monitor 43 "UHD or buy a gaming computer brand new with GTX 970.   What is the best video card compatible with my computer and the motherboard to work with UHD?

Also, would I waste my time to upgrade my current computer or saving a ton of money with great results?

You can upgrade to a powerful video card, but there are a few things you need to know and do.

Motherboard of your desktop came a generation before UEFI and only allows the installation of video cards that support legacy BIOS sound.  This means that you can install a video card that has inherited the BIOS support or a physical switch that allows the choice of the BIOS UEFI\Legacy.  Otherwise only video card BIOS UEFI will not be recognized under the current name of your card motherboard BIOS and the PC does not past the MESSAGE at startup, even in the BIOS.

You will need to install a power supply (Corsair or another brand of enthiusiast) who will provide at least 400-450 watts of high quality. The PSU mus also delivered with power connectors 6\8 PCIe pins for the video card. Check the configuration required for video cards of candidate you are watching.

Sapphire and MSI both make video cards that have a switch and they also make video cards that support the old BIOS only. It's a little more difficult to discern what MSI video card support the BIOS strives.

Hello, I have a desktop H8-1284, and the video card went a few days ago. So I bought a video card Geforce GTX 650, and after installing the card and the computer starts, it hangs just at the start of the HP logo screen. So I put an old geforce 8800, and she starts without a problem. When I try the new card Geforce GTX 650, the same thing, just hangs at the splash screen.  I checked the bios and it doent seem to be something there that can help wouild. My diet is 460 w, and the new map needs of 400 w, any help will be greatly appreciated

    Hello

Most of the cards PCI-E 3.0 are retro-compatible with the PCI-E 2.0 slots.  However, in order to get the PCI-E version 3, you must use a processor Ivy Bridge.  Look at these specificationsfor a typical NVIDIA GTX 650.

    Hello

Is the graphics card a HP OEM model?

I suggest that you clear the CMOS.  If this fails to solve your problem, you will need to begin disconnection of devices from your PC, except the keyboard, mouse and monitor.  Otherwise, the graphics card may be DOA.

  • Radeon HD5450 video card will not work in Pavilion p7 - 1226 s

I have a Pavilion p7 - 1226 s running Windows 7 Home Premium. I bought a video card that is too powerful for her, a Sapphire Radeon HD 5450. Is this what can I do to use anyway? Its specifications require a 400 Watt power supply; mine is 300. There is also a PCI-E 2.1, and the Pavilion is set up for PCI-E x 16, so I think it's a lost for me cause. Well, any suggestions on the kind of maximum card I could get? These things are hard to understand! -Thank you, bayedo
