  There is not a free upgrade for Media Center 2005. If this is something you would like to do, I contact your OEM manufacturer and ask if there is a software upgrade, they can provide you.

  Restore point:

  Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

  Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

  Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

  If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

  Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

  Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

  At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

  When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

  32-bit version runs on 64-bit operating systems. The 64-bit system is backward compatible. However, the problem is more likely to Vista and upgrading to Windows 7 will not solve the problem. I assumed that the program works well under XP but don't work under Windows Vista? If this is the case try install the program in "compatibility mode for XP on your Vista machine. See how to link:http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-compatibility-mode/ and see if the program is running in compatibility mode.

  The only other option is to see if there is a Vista version of the program and buy that.

  Lightroom 3 uninstalling will remove all the files needed to run the program. But this does not alter the catalog or the images that have been imported into Lightroom. All this information will always be available, and Lightroom CC allows to convert a catalog to Lightroom 5 format by creating a new copy of the catalog.
