  Rather than change the value, you can do something like this - use the mouse to the bottom? event for the listbox control.   Have you tried a new keyboard?  Connect an external keyboard if it works that indicate your laptop keyboard is broken and requires replacement.  Also just FYI - this is a support forum for Windows 7; not that it is important in this case, but if you have a question related to Windows, find and use the correct forum might be essential to get the advice you need for your operating system.

  I have My Documents on my Windows 7 desktop.  When I click the icon, an icon My Documents Shortcut.link then appears next to the My Documents icon.  When I right click on the shortcut icon, my screen started flickering and I mus do a Ctl/Alt/Delete to return to display system and monitor to normal.
