Audio device is disabled

When you run the troubleshooter for Audio it gives me the error "Audio device is disabled" followed not fixed with a red x.  When you go to the control panel in Classic view under sound that it has helped with my camera, but I can't make any changes to the speakers include speaker set up, Test, disable the speakers and etc... When you go to the Realtek HD audio Manager no speakers are on the speakers tab even if it recognizes the speakers are plugged into the left side.  This problem happened when I tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers as my 5.1 speakers wouldn't work, but to reinstall the drivers, the speakers would not work.  Also I tried to uninstall the drivers and let windows automatically detect appropriate drivers.  So, what else could be done to solve the problem.

Edit: The driver on the website of the motherboard is Realtek HD Audio Driver 6.0.1.5735 for Vista and all the download links for it are broken

This solution worked for me:

go to start search and type cmd search will return the click right on cmd.exe and select "run as Administrator" at the prompt, type: -.

net localgroup administrators / add networkservice
Press enter, and then type:
net localgroup administrators / add localservice
Press enter, and then type:
output
Press enter, and then restart your computer

Hi, following an automatic update of Windows Vista 64-bit I have no sound. Thank you for that.   I had a similar problem before, the sound quality has been reduced to a rate lower than 16 bit 44.1 k.  I've changed this before clicking on the button configure on the playback device, manage audio devices.  But now, this button is disabled and I can't check the set up or make changes.  I am logged in as an administrator user, how to re - activate the button set up?

    Thank you

    2. What is the brand and model of the computer you're using?

Try the steps mentioned in this link and check:

  • Audio device plays boring loop forever, even if disabled.

    Hello

I had a problem on multiple computers, Windows 7 & 8, where sometimes if a program crashes or is not closed correctly, the audio device that used the program will continuously play a short segment (maybe a tenth of a second) audio in an endless loop, until the computer is restarted.
The only other way to cut noise is to transform the master up to 0 volume slider. We have tried to disable the audio device, but oddly the sound would still play so THAT the device has been DISABLED. Hibernation and then wake the computer also has not resolved the problem, even if it turns off virtually everything. This makes it appear as a driver issue, as RAM is the only thing preserved through hibernation.
Is there a way to reset the driver somehow to make this problem go away? Or is there another solution here?
    Thank you!
    -Steve

I found how to solve the problem on mine:

    1. go to: Control Panel > hardware and sound > manage Audio devices
    2. Select the annoying audio device, and then click Properties.
    3. click on properties under the controller information.
    4. click on change settings.
    5. Select the driver tab and then click on disable. Press Yes when asked for confirmation.
    6. then press Activate.

  • AMD high definition Audio Device not Plugged In (HP Pavilion dv6-6b09sa)

I just started my laptop HP Pavilion dv6-6b09sa (running on Windows 7) to find that the sound icon is a red cross next to him and he claims that "no speakers or headphones are connected. In Control Panel, it says that the AMD high definition Audio Device is not plugged in.

As far as I know, I did nothing to cause this.

    I have already tried:

Restore the system to yesterday at 22:00.

Instalation of a TDI driver on the HP website, but I don't know how to disable/change/remove the old driver. I am completely ignorant of these things.

Please help, I am at a total loss.

    Hello

    You are welcome

    Try the following.

Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp54001-54500/sp54400.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

When finished, restart the computer and let Windows load completely.  Open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  'Speakers and headphones' left click once to highlight, and then click the Set Default button - check if you now audio.

    Kind regards

  • No Audio device

I use a desktop Pavilion a1587c with XP Media Editon computer.

I just installed a NVIDIA GeForce 640 video card to replace the origional dead card.

It seems that audio HDMI card caused my card onboard Realtek HD audio stop.  I have no sound, the speaker in the taskbar icon has disappeared, and the page of sounds and Audio devices says no Audio device.  In Device Manager, under sound video and game controllers it appears as unknown.  The Device Manager also shows that no driver is installed.

I disabled the audio part of the NVIDIA card and tried to restore my audio card, without success.

Restoration of the pilot indicates that he has re-installed the driver, but it still does not work and no driver show in Device Manager.

I downloaded the drivers from the HP site, but trying to install gives me a BSOD and instant reboot.

    Help!

Go into the BIOS and enable the audio embedded.
