Audio device plays boring loop forever, even if disabled.

Hello

I had a problem on multiple computers, Windows 7 & 8, where sometimes if a program crashes or is not closed correctly, the audio device that used the program will continuously play a short segment (maybe a tenth of a second) audio in an endless loop, until the computer is restarted.
The only other way to cut noise is to transform the master up to 0 volume slider. We have tried to disable the audio device, but oddly the sound would still play so THAT the device has been DISABLED. Hibernation and then wake the computer also has not resolved the problem, even if it turns off virtually everything. This makes it appear as a driver issue, as RAM is the only thing preserved through hibernation.
Is there a way to reset the driver somehow to make this problem go away? Or is there another solution here?
Thank you!
-Steve

I found how to solve the problem on mine:

1. go to: Control Panel > hardware and sound > manage Audio devices
2. Select the annoying audio device, and then click Properties.
3. click on properties under the controller information.
4. click on change settings.
5. Select the driver tab and then click on disable. Press Yes when asked for confirmation.
6. then press Activate.

    Hello

Have you tried to install the latest drivers for Vista, since there are not those of Windows 7?

Check with support from Lenovo and their forums - in their forums, as there are other
who have faced the same problem then maybe they can help.

There may be no solution. Use all the methods described previously.

  • NCAA games go to bad audio device, even when I say o/s otherwise. How to replace Firefox?

I guess that's a FF issue, since everything else seems to work OK. I have a USB headset plugged into the USB hub under my desk. I use the properties of the Audio devices > Audio in the control panel (XP Pro) to switch between the headphones and speakers of the laptop.

The problem is that I can't sound through Laptop speakers playing games via Firefox NCAA without unplugging the USB headset physically. I hate to crawl under my desk to do it. If I tell the OS what speakers to use, do not change it. I should be able to force audio to speakers for computer without physically disconnect them. I use my laptop to a large number of web conversations with my helmet, but I don't want to physically disconnect when I what to listen without headphones.

No sooner had I posted my complaint that I discovered that other applications have the same problem, although I said otherwise. And FF works fine if the USB headset is activated as the device by default until I start FF (or tab maybe the FF). Maybe the 'problem' is the operating system, if it does not notify a change of aircraft FF. Or, maybe the problem is FF, if it does not acknowledge the notification from the OS.

In any case, I now have a work-around that seems compatible with other applications on Windows. However, any other ideas would be appreciated always. I think that changing the operating system's audio playback device must notify immediately and performed by all applications using the headphones/speakers/whatever, regardless of when the application started.

    Bye... done so far

  • E1505 - no 'No Audio Device Found"even though I used my microphone before

have had my E1505 with Vista OS laptop for over a year now and have always used an external microphone. From a few days back, the laptop does not recognize the microphone more. I tried several microphones and even used a brand new. Finally made a full diagnosis using the Dell diagnostics and during Diagnostics, I tested with the same microphone and the computer meets the test. However, when I close diagnostics and log back in, the computer still isn't allowing me to use the microphone. When I insert the microphone, the audio event message appears to indicate that an audio device has started. However, when I go to sound recorder, the record tab shows no audio device found.

I just upgraded to SP 1 and hope there is a bug and MS can fix it, but no luck.

Everyone ran in this unit or a similar problem? Any help is appreciated.

  • Unable to play Turtle Beach headphones like Audio device by default

I recently bought a HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook and, so far, have had no problems. I use Steam chat to speak to my friends while playing PC games. My cat of steam in my Turtle Beach headphones without problem, however, his game will play only through my speakers. I guess the problem is that my helmet is not defined as audio device by default. When I tried to put my headset as default device, I was unable to do so. I was wondering if anyone knew a solution to this problem or could offer any assistance whatsoever.

    My OS is Windows 7.
I reinstalled the sound drivers and you have run also the resolution of the Audio playback problems, which were the solutions that I found on this forum. None of them helped me to put my headset as default device.
    Thank you!

    Hello

Audio driver crashed. Update only and it should work. You can find the sound card driver in support.dell.com for driver downloads. Just follow the instructions on the dell Web site.
If you want to let your computer drivers update by itself which is wiser to do everything manually, you can use RadarSync. Since you are a gamer, keeping all of the updated drivers you would have a better experience with your computer. To operate to its full potential by keeping all of the updated drivers.

  • "No audio device" after reinstalling Windows XP

I recently reinstalled Windows XP on my laptop Dell Inspiron 9400.  This laptop has Sound Blaster Audigy Advanced HD Audio integrated.  The sound worked fine before the reinstall.

Now I have no sound (other than the boring system beeps) and I get an error message that there is no audio device whenever I try to play an audio file.

I tried to reinstall the drivers from the CD of origin and on the dell download site.  For both, to Midway through the installation it stops and tells me that there is no audio device.

When I look in Device Manager there is no audio device listed and when I go to the components section of system of information there is no audio device.

Any ideas of what I can do to force the computer to recognize the processor integrated?

I ended up resolving this issue.  It is not enough to reinstall the Sound Blaster disc.  There was another driver who had to be downloaded from the Dell website before Sound Blaster could even see the audio device.

SIGMATEL - pilot - applies to the STAC 92XX C-Major HD Audio

The Dell Web site lists this driver option, but it obviously wasn't.  As soon as it was installed my audio device has been found, and I was able to install the Sound Blaster CD.

I hope this helps someone else.

  • Its icon does not appear in the notification area - no audio device is installed

NO INSTALLED AUDIO DEVICE & NO SOUND, VIDEO & GAME CONTROLLER NOT TAB ON DEVICE MANAGER

I had some problems with the sound on my laptop... sometimes the volume icon will suddenly disappear from the notification area and I can not add it even because it is grayed off the coast, unless I restarted my laptop... and after an automatic Windows Update I suddenly got errors on my sound whenever I play a game and try to mute it. After that, the volume in the notification area icon got a red X and it had the "NO AUDIO DEVICE IS INSTALLED" message!

I tried everything I found on the net without success. I can't even enable or disable my audio driver because I have NOT any how 'audio, video controller & game' tab on my DEVICE MANAGER! I can't uninstall & re-install my drivers either because it would not uninstall first, even in safe mode. Reinstall the driver will give me an error message saying "No. MEDIA FOUND to this DEVICE DRIVER" !

I also tried to reformat my laptop and goes back to factory settings, restore my system to a point where I wasn't having problems still, it reboot several times, always check the Device Manager if somehow the tab for its controller will magically appear and try several times to reinstall my driver... This gave me No. SOLUTION !

I don't know what to do more and forums on other sites do no help either. I don't want to dirty my registry for fear of totally play my laptop.

HOW can I SOLVE THIS PROBLEM? I just got windows update and not only I have problems with the audio on my laptop but I can't play games on facebook either!

    Hi Annetalla,

You can uninstall the current sound driver from Device Manager and restart the computer to load the generic driver and check if it makes a difference.

    1. click on Start.

    2. type devmgmt. msc in the search box start and press to enter.

    3. right click on the speaker and select Uninstall.

4 restart the computer, and vista will load the generic drivers.

If an audio device on board, you will see the option in the BIOS. To do this, you need to read the manual that came with your computer or contact the manufacturer for this.
