Audio Jack - no sound
I have a portege R500 with Windows Vista Business operating system. Up until recently, I have been able to play music via Windows Media Player to my external speakers plugged into the headphone jack and powered by the USB port. I've updated all my drivers with Driver Detective. I don't know where to start looking to solve this problem
I'm happy to hear that this issue is resolved. :)

Dell InspironN4050, no sound audio Jack...
Hi, I am using Dell Inspiron N4050, I'm having a problem with my audio jack. There is no sound from my audio jack in windows, I tried all the solutions available on Google but none of them work...
first I thought that it's a hardware problem, but now I think there a driver/software related issue, because jack works absolutely fine in ubuntu without causing me any problems... I am also using the latest IDT drivers available for my hardware. My Audio device is IDT High Definition audio Codec... Hope that someone tell me working Solution...
I am using 32 Bit Widnows7 all drivers are up to date...
(Sorry for my bad English)I looked into this on some Linux discussion forums. This seems to be a problem for many people with dual-boot systems, and I don't think that it is limited to just of IDT audio. They say that Ubuntu (or whatever the version) did something that Windows cannot cancel. The most common suggestion is to shut down the laptop, unplug the power, remove the battery, then plug the power back, restart.
See this thread at askubuntu.com.
HahassenI don't think that today this Type of material are made which are no longer compatible with the OS only...I agree. The material is of course compatible with a BONE, but seems inconsistent when you use the two together. My guess is that Windows or Linux could solve the incompatibility, but will they?

Original title: his record game
Recently, I built a new computer and its been connected via HDMI. Then one day that sounds simply stopped working, so I've updated my drivers that are digitally signed and still no idea. It is said that I unplugged the audio jack, and it evokes the strange Realtek HD audio Manager every time.
The operating system is Windows 7 64 bit home edition. Does anyone know what I need to do to correct this little hiccup?
Thanks for the help,
Mac ~.

Basically, I dropped my phone on the carpet with the headphones in. Now, the audio jack is pushed inward. What is the best way to go about fixing this problem without having to disassemble my laptop me?
I just noticed in the title of this thread you wrote there is no noise of the taking. In this case, repositioning just decision-making may be insufficient, and the plug should be replaced. As I said, this could involve replacement of the motherboard.

HP m7160n the front audio jack problem
I am running Vista Home on my PC Media Center m7160n. I used to be able to plug my headphones into the front audio jack and it would reduce the rear speaker output. Now it doesn't! I entered the sound properties and is set to turn off the rear socket, when the system detects a card into the front socket. The helmet still works, but I need the speakers off when using the headset. I hope this is enough information.
Hi MrBassMan26,
It's weird and looks like the jack-detect is not working properly. This problem just started happening? It happened after installing anything, even a Windows Update?
If it just started happening, you can try to perform a restore of windows to an earlier point when it was operating normally. Or you could try to re - install the driver audio or even install a updated audio driver. Who should take care of it, and if not you may need to make some configuration changes in one of the sound properties (Windows or Realtek).
I see that you have Vista, you accidentally upgraded to Vista XP?
Try to install audio driver for Vista from Realtek: http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsCheck.aspx?Langid=1 & PNid = 24 & PFid = 24 & Level = 4 & Conn = 3 & DownTypeID = 3 & GetDown = false
Let us know how it goes.

Problem with headphones in collaboration with audio jack laptop Lenovo touch G510s?
The speakers on the laptop itself work, but when I plug it into any pair a headset or headphones (I tried 5 well known pairs) and it's the same problem each time. The right ear piece works and the left does not. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the driver, nothing helps.
I think it's a hardware problem and it has a warranty until May 30, 2015, but I don't have the time or money to send it offshore to lenovo of difficulty (expensive to send from the military base).
Is there a simple solution like an audio jack usb or something that I can use to be able to use a headset?
You can get a good cheap sound card USB off Amazon and use instead.

Hello
Nearly two years ago, I bought the laptop and the audio jack stopped working. I opened the laptop and saw that indeed broken taking!
I wonder where I can get a new, so maybe I can solder on the motherboard?
There is no place to buy this decision in a separate part. The only possibility is to find a motherboard nonworking parts on ebay and to transplant the good audio jack on your motherboard, and I don't want to minimize welding skills that will. You'd be very likely to damage the motherboard still more. Your best bet now if you want to use the laptop with a gaming headset is to get a cheap usb sound card and plug it in when you want to listen in private. I guess that the speakers of the laptop still work OK?
Like this:
You could buy half a dozen of them, then you might lose a bit and still be OK.

None of my audio jacks do not work. Front and back (office)
Recently, I connected my desktop computer for an amp with an attachment to a rope to get sounds. It's a beefy amp and I don't have all the sound cards in addition to that on the motherboard. After that I connected and discovered, he did not. No audio jacks working now and I reinstalled Realtek HD Audio Manager twice and no solution. How can I fix this to get the worksheets?
Hi MitchellCochran,
1. have you disconnected the amplifier on the computer and still there is no sound on the computer?
2. you receive a message on the audio device works is not on the computer?
Method 1
Check and make sure that the correct audio device is set as default.
(a) click the Start button and then click Control Panel. In the search box, type sound, and then click sound.
(b) click on the read tab, and then look for audio devices. These appear as icons of the speaker and are labeled as speaker, track of the names of the devices.
If you have multiple devices, the default device has a check mark next to it and is labeled as default value.
(c) if the wrong audio device is listed as default audio device, click the correct audio device, click set as defaultand then click OK.
Change the audio device may require that restart you your computer.
Method 2
If fails it above step then check out the link below and run the troubleshooter of audio playback, check if it helps.

Based on the content of your original post, you have already completed part of the troubleshooting process.
You said that "tried to set default sound still does not solve my problem."
Please explain what you mean by "tried to set as default device". This means that you have failed and the green check mark does not appear?

E7440: Audio Jack does not detect all connect more
Hi all
I am reported a strange problem. I use E7440 with Windows 7 64-bit with Realtek HD Audio driver (as shown below). My computer also has 'AUDIO DELL' management utility.
Previously, external headphones and portable speakers were working well and whenever I used to insert the pin code of my headphones into the audio jack, a small pop-up used (from the utility DELL AUDIO) used to make appear to select the type of device, I just inserted.
What happened was, as usual, I inserted the headphones and the popup appeared. I somehow click outside (or closed the popup window) without selecting the device type. Since then, whenever I re - insert the PIN in the audio jack, it behaves as if nothing had happened.
I tried to fix it by the following methods, but always the same problem.
-Inside the DELL AUDIO utility, there is an activation or deactivation pop up under the menu option "Advanced > Jack Information." I tried to switch it, thinking that he can reset the pop-up.
-Inside the DELL AUDIO utility, there is an option to restore the default settings in the menu "Advanced > Restore Defaults. But it also did not help.
-I uninstalled my audio driver from Device Manager. During the restart of the computer after the uninstall, it automatically installed the audio driver again. Once I did, my speakers have also exploded. In other words, no sound of two internal speakers laptop no audio jack. I had to restore my computer to one of the restore points to undo this uninstalling the driver and reinstalling.
-I also tried update utility DELL AUDIO via the utility "update DELL client system. But it seems that this utility has some problems too, as ever, he proceeded as planned. I had to do a system restore to restore my computer on track.Current situation is the internal laptop talk work very well and any plugin for the audio input jack is not pop - up (to select the type of audio device) while the DELL AUDIO has the option to display the pop-up windows when a new device is inserted.
I have not checked in any other operating system yet. But I'm sure it's the problem of the DELL AUDIO utility.
Any guidance will be much appreciated by me and the people around me, who have to listen to my stuff because of this problem of the audio input jack.
Best regards
JunaidHello. We have a lot of posts this year on taking undetected on laptops Dell with Realtek audio. I suggest that you try to install the native Windows audio driver. The method is similar to what you were doing when you uninstalled the realtek driver.
Open Device Manager (type devmgmt.msc in the search box), and then expand "audio, video and game controllers".
Right-click on "Realtek High Definition Audio", and then select uninstall. This time, put a checkmark in the delete files optionand then on ok. When you restart, Windows will install its own native driver or another driver Realtek if there were other versions on the hard drive. Then go back to Device Manager and look for a Realtek driver. Keep the uninstall & reboot (removing the files each time) until Realtek no longer appears under controllers of noise. Finally, you will see "High definition Audio Device" (native Windows driver) instead of "Realtek High Definition Audio"
Must work with this driver. If it's not, and if you are still under warranty, report the problem to technical support.
If the Jack is working, then next download and install a new copy of the driver Realtek. The Audio from Dell Manager is really a truncated version of the Realtek Audio Manager. I don't know, but you might get a new copy of the Audio Dell Manager with the new copy of the Realtek driver. The actual address of Realtek Audio Manager has better controls for the headphone jack, but apparently we can't get it in a Dell laptop.
If it still doesn't work then try a driver directly from Realtek website. (Return to the native Windows driver each time before trying any different Realtek driver.) You can try the Dell offer and the Realtek drivers.

Alienware 15 audio jack not detected
I've seen a lot of posts on the problems of the audio jack but none with my system. I have an AlienWare with Windows 10 15. It does not detect the audio jack of 3.5 mm. I have Creative Sound Blaster Recon3Di driver, says that it is up-to-date. Tried to uninstall it a reboot, but it seems to remain installed. When I plugged headphones and try to detect disabled and disconnected devices it shows nothing. I can get USB working headset, but I really just want to plug into the headphone jack!
Thanks for any help,
Hello.
I would test the audio driver, by changing the audio driver Creative SoundBlaster Recon with the native Windows audio driver. Here are 2 ways to do this.
1. open Device Manager (found in the Control Panel, or type devmgmt.msc in the search box).
2. develop the 'audio controllers, video & game' and right click on Creative SoundBlaster Recon.
3 Select this option to "Update driver software".
4. click on "Browse my computer for driver software".
5. click on "Let Me pick from a list of drivers on my computer".
6. put the "Show compatible hardware" check box if not already checked.
7. in the list of devices, click on 'High Definition Audio"(native driver).
8. click on "next".
9. in the update driver warning box, click 'Yes' (the driver).
10 restart the portable computer if you are prompted. If not invited, so no need to restart.
[To return to the Creative SoundBlaster Recon pilot, do it again but reverse steps 2-7 names].===============================================================================
Sometimes this procedure does not work with Windows 10, so here's another method, which is to remove all the Creative SoundBlaster Recon driver files.
1. open Device Manager
2. expand the section sound, video & game controllers.
3. right click on the Creative SoundBlaster Recon and select uninstall.
4. check the option to remove the software driver, click ok.
5 reboot the laptop and go back to Device Manager and check again a Creative SoundBlaster Recon pilot. Keep the uninstall & reboot up to Creative SoundBlaster Recon is no longer under his... Controllers and "High definition Audio Device" (the native driver) is displayed in its place.[The reason why you have to go through the process more than once is because the driver for several drivers Creative SoundBlaster Recon files could be on the hard drive.] When a Creative SoundBlaster Recon driver is deleted, the following is installed if Windows can locate files. Windows installs the generic driver that after all the Creative SoundBlaster Recon files were deleted.]
============================================================================
If you do not hear audio through the headphone jack to listen with a driver, then it is more likely to be a hardware problem.
