Audio missing in merged Clips

Well, editing a feature film on the first CC.  Just import a project in my project work containing clips merged using my 2nd audio and video source (red image), I've created.  The files were all renamed in first to match the numbers of scene/shot.  Kept than merged clips, deleted the rest of the project's working folder, as I did for all the other clips that work perfectly well.  Edited the videos last night, works perfectly.

Reopened the project this morning to continue working, and now all the clips have titles dead as no audio.  The real tracks are there, but there is no sound.  I doubled clicked on just the audio track of the element in the sequence, and it is red in my source window.

How can I fix?

Hi rhead12,

Please, do a right-click on the audio in the timeline panel and go to audio channels, and if the source channels are set to none, change them left and right and check.

Kind regards

Vinay

  • The Audio in a merged clip replacement

Is there a way to replace the audio of an element which merged already in the timeline with the best audio excerpt of hearing?

I just finished my edit and improved my audio dialogue at the hearing.  I have the audio "extract" in my bin of clips and I would replace all the changes that I have with this best acoustics to survey.  I tried the option + drag replace the method but it does replace the audio to the correct location.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you!

    Hey Kevin,

There is a way!  I just thought about it!

I have my audio excerpt in the clip bin where it should be after that I "edit audio in Adobe Audition."  I then seconded just my audio track Selection tool as they were on the same track.  Then I have relinked the audio to extract audio file extended and BAM!  It worked!

Understand this output saved me hours or even days to manually replace these audio clips!

  • Major audio problem with merged Clips

Try this once again, having a major problem since update works with merged clips.  I merge all my video and audio clips into a project of prior work flow in first pro.  I'll be shooting my images, tagged and synchronized in the project.

Because the first does not have more than 1 project open at the same time, I copied the files, closed before workflow project and opened my feature film project that I worked for.  Copied clips merged bin, I click on a clip, video plays well, but there is no audio playback.

I try to import the project files of prior workflows by using the import project feature, keep that real merged clips (like the rest of my project is this way) still no sound.  I cleaned my cache of media, reset preferences, even uninstalled first and redownloaded.  Problem persists.

Can you help me understand what the question is whether I can go back to making progress on this feature of finishing project?

Here's my workflow and no problems so far.  I do it this way because I found after all files in the project was originally crash constantly when I was working.  I have a new I7' processor IMac with 24 GB of RAM.  And since the first does not allow to open multiple projects at the same time (wish it would change.  Avid and FCP both allowed several projects) that I have to do things this way.

    Before workflow project file

Label all the video and Audio files to match the scene #' / takes

The value in points on all the video and audio in order to reflect the slate

    Merge Clips

    Functional project file

Import only Clips merged into Project.  Import or copy/paste

Now, I did this workflow from the beginning about.  Removing all the source video and all the audio clips of my work project remain while my bins containing my merged clips.  Had no problem and edit has been smooth.  Did a day pickup last week, followed the same steps as I did in the past, imported clips merged into my work project and clips have audio, set to none by default.  Now, once I'm in the sequence I can manually set and this is, but I can't read the audio data in the source monitor, which is how to change, there is no reason, I should have to go back in the manner of the crappy editing with FCP copy and paste from a sequence.

Able to repro.  Bug was noted.

    Hi Wallace,

On MAC: MAC HD or startup drive > library > Application support > Adobe > commune > media Cache and the Cache of media files

    Windows: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common

You can also check the location if you chose a custom here location:

  • Clips, creating tracks audio silent extra merged

    Hi all

When I merge 1 video and 1 audio clip with 4 channels, I find myself using 16 audio channels, with its original now located on the A1/A6/A11/A16 in the merged clip.

How can I stop this from happening?

    I'm doing something wrong?

    I tried:

    -remove unnecessary timeline tracks

    -patch only A1-4

-dragging them in the project window and right-clicking to merge

Why would body be insert silent audio tracks in merged clips?

    Thank you!

  • Merged clips are not automatically linked with the audio when put to the timeline.

So I've updated to the latest version of first pro, and it seems that he has this bug with merged clips or is a 'feature' I don't know.

I synced the audio clips video and multichannel, as I do usually - using audio matching feature.

When I put the video merged to the timeline and try to move around, only following a video audio track, others are unrelated. It wasn't the question in the previous version first. Any suggestions how to solve this problem?

A screenshot below, this is what I get when I put a clip merged directly to the timeline. As you can see, only the audio is linked (marked with [A])

    Hi bunaras,

Yes, it's a bug with clips merged; It also affects the edit of a sequence in another with the "insert and replace sequences such as nests or individual clips" button to "individual clips." Sorry for the inconvenience; Currently, the only solution would be to manually connect the audio and video components.

  • Analyze the speech on a merged clip does not

In the past, I've analyzed successfully the content of video clips with good results.  I was even able to use CC history scripts.

When I try to analyze a merged clip (prores422 1080 24 p, audio .wav) options to analyze speeches are grayed out.  I can analyze the video portion of the clip merged (even if it has no audio data), but gives it to .wav file me gray analyzes content options.

Am I missing something?  Are not supported .wav files?

The only solution I can think of is to make new clips via media encoder.

    Any thoughts would be helpful.

    Thank you.

    Thanks Kevin,

It's a disappointment on the limitation, but your work around works!

I analyzed the .wav obtained the transcript and the Viola shows up with the merged clip.

(Curiously, I couldn't analyze the .wavs before but now I can).

    Thanks for your quick response.

  • Merge Clips with ExtendScript

The audio of my recorder creates a folder for every time he rolls, with audio files for each track. Normally, I select all the files within each folder track and "merge Clips' to make a resource file with the separate tracks that stack with each other in the timeline (all synced together).

I would like to create a script that goes through and this for me, but I can't seem to find a function of extendscript for "merge the Clips. Are there?

No, there is no API around fusion of clips.

  • The merged clips appear out-of-sync indicators while in sync

So I have this weird problem with merged clips showing out-of-sync indicators while in fact, the audio is synchronized.

    Let me explain first the workflow for this feature;

-Set of 6 K RED footage gets converted to 1080 p Prores Proxy

-All the proxies and separate audio files are imported into a project file 'Master and Sync' (I use it to synchronize and merge clips as well as rename them)

-When everything is synchronized, merged and renamed, they are placed in their corresponding scene number folder

-J' I then open my project file 'Edit' and in the media browser, browse to the file "Master and Sync" project.

-J' have drag and drop clips/merged records newly created the 'Master Sync' in the mediabrowser, in my project 'change '.

-J' I change with them and everything works as expected.

The issue comes in when I try to import a sequence edited of my Deputy Editor-in-Chief.

-We work with the latest version of first

-We are working on our own systems at home, but both have local access to all the images that we work with.

-We have a record of sharing creative cloud where our editing projects are located and saved as well as the project "Master and Sync.

-When my assistant has completed a first Assembly of a scene I navigate to his project to change the media browser when changing my own project is open.

-J' I find the finished sequence and drag and drop it into my own project to change .

And at that time there almost every single clip shows the out-of-sync indicator, but when I play the sequence everything is synchronized. I checked with my assistend maybe if its sequence shows also these indicators, but it is not. So it only seems to happen when I import its sequences. I tried ' display indicator out of sync clips unrelated " in the preferences, but without success.

    out of sync indicators.png

To add a comment to the audio to video synchronization. I had to make up for a lot of audio clips by a 1 or a couple of images manually because they turned with timecode jamming and not gen-lock. It is so true that technically the audio can be out of sync before their merger all but as you can see on the screenshot the indicators show a shift much larger than 1 or two images (I think the max lag that I got was 9 frames).

All suggestions are welcome and I really hope I'm overlooking something rather than finding a bug!

    Thank you!

So, I just got a phone call from Adobe. Technology Adobe told me that he had tested this configuration to confirm that it is seeing the same thing I am. Unfortunately, it has been. He also told me that it is a limitation instead of bug. Is because my assistant and I are working on two different systems and no access don't not on the same physical hard disk and so do not have access to the "exact" same media.

It would be no problem if we worked on different systems, but to access media on the shared storage.

The shame if this is considered to be a limitation rather than a bug. Seems to me it is repairable but, Hey! I'm just a simple editor and no programmer so it might be more difficult.

  • Fusion audio and video, all clips / takes both

    Hello

I am looking for a possibility to synchronize all my video clips with audio recorded external at the same time. Audio of a video have the same TC to synchronize.

Selection of all media, the merge clips option is grayed out. Select a video and audio file, which works fine, but I don't like to do it manually for each clip.

I just got the trail from the eyes of the plural, but here it does not work.

    Thank you

    Johannes

I found a nearly quick workaround that works if audio and video have the same TC:

    1. Select all audio and video clips

    2. choose Create sequence multicam

-> which puts each correspondent audio and video in a clean sequence

    3. Select all the new sequences a sequence open right click in the timeline.

4 drag and drop the audio and video of the timeline in a tray

-> which creates the merged clips

5 remove all sequences of blocking

It takes about 5 s by video footage and a bit of media management.

But this should not be a big deal to implement this feature in first. So lets make a feature request!

  • The merged Clips remain unrelated. Problem.

I created merged clips (audio and video synchronization). When I place in the chronology, is more "related." Yes, 'Linked Selection' is highlighted. I'm an editor experienced - I have never delt with this before. Any suggestions?

It was with 2015.1 bug that has been fixed in 2015.2.

  • Merge clips do not work on Update 9.1.0 (174)

Don't know if it's just me having some settings wrong or it's a bug with the last update.

The strange thing happening now, it is that if I slide a merged clip bin to the timeline, they appear very well and in harmony with one of the problems, they are NOT related! There are no media with small 'V' and 'A' in the name of the clip! They seem to just several video and audio clips individual places in the timeline. When you move the video, the audio will not follow. This happens to every project that I currently have. The 'old' that work well in the latest version, and since the day I updated to the newest one and he asked to save a new project file, it is the case.

And with the new projects also the same problem. Can I create clips merged very well and they appear in stores and in the monitor source very well that it is only when you drag in the timeline, they are individual items. Use first for a long time now and never encountered a problem like that before and not changed anything wise to parameters. Everything was normal on the last version, but the new 9.1.0 update (174)... Man, I don't know...

In my view, that it is a bug.  You should add another report, make sure that Adobe gets enough many to give priority to a solution.

  • Strange behavior with merged Clip

    Hello

I have images that were synchronized via merged clip. The clips have 5 audio channels. When I replace the clips in the timeline, it enters 5 audio clips that contain the string source 1. It is not 5 channels in the timeline.

I have my wrong settings or is this another bug with Clips merged into the new version of first?

    Thank you!

Looking at the settings change Clip, you have channel 1 goes to all 5.

First crashes when I try to use a merged clip. When I double click on the clip he loads in the Panel preview, but when I perform such actions that override or insert or if I right click on the clip I get this message: «Sorry, a serious error has occurred which requires Adobe Premiere Pro to stop...» »

    Here are the details:

    1. All the clips that I use in the project are merged clips.
    2. The video clips are of reference with audio AVCHD, and clips audio .wav 48 MHz.

    2. merged and re-created (in which case it was somehow) delete corrupted
    3. Open the project with a different system user (to exclude user settings)
    4. a project from scratch, merging the same clips and then performing similar tasks
    5. clear the cache of After Effects
    6. spent 90 minutes with technical support control my computer try different things, that I am not sure

Wasting too much time. Tempted to y for return of the PCF up until this is resolved. Help, please.

A bug that sounds like what you are a statement has been fixed in the update published today (CC2014.0.1, aka, 8.0.1). Please let us know if this fix does not resolve your particular case.
