  Check that your speakers/headphones are not on Mute, the speaker icon can be found in the system tray near the Date time &. Click on the "speaker" icon > make sure that the blue speaker icon is not set to mute it is to reactivate it.

  As you can see above, I can't see the section on the CS6 where imported videos.  I looked online to find the problem and couldn't.  I guess even a some quick shortcut key would solve that problem, but I was not able to find a solution...

  I'm trying to import some files in LR, but the import screen appears not all files that are in the folder I chose.

  I noticed that only when there are multiple files with the same base file name.  For example, when the file contains the following files, LR will display all of them in the form of import:

  • file. MP4
  • File1.jpg
  • File2.jpg
  • ...

  However, "file1.jpg" will not be shown in the import screen when the file contains the following files:

  • File1. MP4
  • File1.jpg
  • File2.jpg

  I was unable to find a LR preference that covers it.  Have I forgotten?

  Here is a proposal... the emphasis on the word "guess"... When you have file1.mp4 and file1.jpg, .jpg is considered to be a "sidecar" and will not be imported... unless... you select the option in the preferences (general tab) that says: "Treat JPG files files next to raw as separate photos..."   I have a drive HARD Sony DCR-SR42, I transferred the videos and photos to my computer once, but there are some issues and I ended up having to delete everything I had imported. Now when I try to import the vids & photos new Autoplay is ONLY recognizing 'new' files and will not import the old files. I can't find the path to the old files so there is no reason for old files don't not to download. Please let me know if there is a setting I'm missing to get around this.

  Try the steps and check them off below if it helps:

  a. navigate to the Sub rental:

  C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Photo Acquisition\PreviouslyAcquired.db

  b. rename the folder PreviouslyAcquired.db PreviouslyAcquired.db.old

  c. rename, right-click on the folder and select Rename.

  d. restart the computer

  e. now try to import photos and check.

  I know it's a common question asked; I read another post on the subject, but I have not yet found my answer.

  When I try to import a video file of MTS in AE CS6, imports fine video, but the audio does not work.  There is no little audio icon for me to put in muted as there is when I import other video files and audio did not get included in the rendering.  The audio is confirmed working in VLC and MPC - HC.  One person said what happens when the camera records stereo to RL and RR (tracks 3 and 4) audio tracks, but according to VLC, they are on L and R (1 and 2) of the audio tracks in standard stereo, not 5.1.  This is the dump of the MPC - HC info:

  Another person says that this can happen when you have 3rd party codecs installed on your machine.  Yes.  I have the ffmpeg library included in the CCCP codec.  But I don't know why that would get in the way that Adobe products, and I don't know how to fix it and still keeping the codecs installed.

  I'm glad you guessed it, but if you do anything for a customer paying in the future, I advised not to transcode to H.264 format.  Is a great codec and a barely adequate acquisition codec, but it is not really good for AE.

  Oh, it will do the job, but working in AE is NEVER the end of the line.  The work always takes place in the middle of a project, and you never want to degrade the image.  H.264 is pretty frozen, it will degrade images and you do not want for paying customers.

  But for yourself?  Give it a shot.

  It depends on what software you use. With most of the windows programs you can go edit and find a selection of photos or videos rotate. If this isn't what you want, let me know.

  I use Windows Movie Maker. I imported the video files I wanted and began to edit in the timeline. I ejected the disc to get the video to another drive and all the videos disappeared. It reappears when I insert the disc again. How can I keep this from happening so that I can combine two DVD images? In addition, if it disappears when I eject the disk, how will I be able to burn to a new DVD once finished?

  The source files must be copied to a folder of
  your hard drive before you import it into Movie Maker.

  That's because Movie Maker archive not
  copies of the source files... it simply records the path
  at the original location.

When I import even with an older version (on my laptop) all meta-data, including information from the lens are available. Does anyone else have this problem? Is this a bug?   I am completely new to video editing.  I imported a couple of clips from my dslr, .mov files.  They seemed imported ok, I recorded them at 60 fps in 720 p on 30secs each.  The clips are shown on the screen when I double click on the screen of project, I can visualize using the slider, but they do not play back when I hit the space bar or click the play button.

  First your sequence settings must match the clips.

  You do not have hardware MPE so probably that line in the timeline on the clips is red.
