Aurora R4 install 2nd optical drive

Hello

I have the R4 Aurora comes with the drive BlueRay Combo DH-12E3SH. I want to burn a BlueRay disc so I tried to install drive BlueRay Asus BW-16D1HT. I encounter the problem that he recognise only one optical driver in the BIOS, even though I tried to swap the two optical driver, update to the latest version of two drivers and update the BIOS of the A10 A11.

I feel, there is something wrong with BIOS setup but cannot understand. I used the default settings now. He has no problem with the connection of the material. and I can play with the only driver optical it recognizes. You can have a few tips to make two optical drivers work at the same time? Thanks in advance.

A new BD of Asus burner works in Aurora R4 as unique optical drive?

It should work. Check the wiring all the way back to the motherboard.

I bought a 2nd optical drive that is the same model as the first provided with this desktop computer. It's a TSST SH-216DB.  How to remove the bezel flat black plastic on the front of the new command and then how do I remove the frame of the 2nd slot empty on the PC (which I guess goes down with a spring when opened as the 1st disc) and attach it to the new drive? Whereas when I'm actually, two optical drives look alike on the outside and work in a similar way.

    Thanks for any help.

    Thank you, Bev.

Yes, I review the owner's manual. What it does not cover becomes the front, flat, plastic front ("bezel"?) on my new 2nd optical drive (same model as my first original album, which remains in place) and then be able to join this new drive an attractive drop-down spring I assume (hope) is currently in the 2nd, empty the unit housing, so that the new player looks forward as 1 and works like it with a drop-down menu, attractive spring. I did not open the folder again, so I don't know if an attractive spring is here for the 2nd, currently empty location or not.

Can help you with info on the change of drawing the plastic on my new 2nd drive?

    dcc197

Yes, it is already there and there should be an opening 2nd 5.25 "for the reader, what you need, is remove the metal plate 'Break-away '.

My experience with computers Dell optical drive 'Gate' of the flange spring is already here and there is nothing to do, except install the player, because when the disc is ejected, the optical drive tray operates the door automatically.

All you need, are two M3 X 1/4, phillips, or hex head screws are needed to install the drive in the Bay and a 18 "SATA data cable, it should there be spare power supply connector SATA already inside the case.

Respectfully that you remove the cover and the frame before checking things.

  • Satellite A300-1J1 - how to install 2nd HARD drive?

    Hello

I bought a Satellite A300 and I see in the workbook loads it is possible to add a 2nd hard drive. So I bought one and when I opened the box of hard drive, I have not found a connector to connect to my hard drive. I think I have to install a SATA connector, but I have not found a way to proceed.

    Thank you

PS: Excuse me if you find mistakes, I don't speak very well

    Hey,.

If there is no second SATA connector on the motherboard it s not possible to install 2nd HARD drive because you can t add such a motherboard connector.

As far as I remember there are other threads on A300 and 2nd drive HARD here in the forum and the point is that all A300 using the same case for laptop, but the mothers are different. So you can have a 2nd HARD drive Bay but not connector.

  • Having trouble install my optical drive

My laptop is an Acer Aspire E-5-571-37SY.  I recently ordered an optical drive for her with the German parts supplier.

I ordered and received the following parts:

    STRANGE cover Acer framework, 42.ML9N2.001

    Acer DVD/RW SuperMulti 9 x 8 shelf, KO.0080D.017 mm

    Acer support ODD cover, 33.ML9N2.003

However, it did come with a screw to fix the media on the drive and the bezel does not fit right.

I did an album imgur describing the problem encountered: http://imgur.com/a/CmNyk#0

    What should I do?

    Hello

    Have you contacted the provider?

    1 - support/ODD screws unit is:

    86.ML9N2.003 - SCREW M 2,5 D 2.0 L K 5 d NI NL (unit millimeter: M2.0x2.5 and the head diameter 5.0)

    The bezel:

To properly cut the bezel, you must open the tray with a paper clip.

  • T410 fails to wake up from his sleep with the installed 2nd hard drive?

Since I installed a second hard drive in my T410, a 250 GB Hitachi drive, my machine can't seem to wake from sleep (sometimes)... So, I have to do a hard reset.

I had the same problem without the 2nd disc when I tried to use the HD password in BIOS and discovered that it was something to do with the disc Crucial M4 I use. But this same problem happening now since using the 2nd disc slot.

Any ideas? I really like the extra storage space and won't remove based on this problem.

Well it seems that the problem was caused by the version of the firmware for the SSD I installed it.

The problem has been solved by updating the M4 Crucial SSD with the latest firmware...

.. .and it solved the HD1 password issue too.

  • Re: Installing 2nd hard drive on P305-S8838

Is it possible to buy another hard drive to my P305? It came with a 320 GB hard drive, and I think I might have a place available for another. Any info would be much appreciated, I was not able to mount all the answers using google.

    Hello

    I got this Toshiba [detailed specification of the Satellite P305 product site | http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_outFrm.jsp?moid=2059998&rpn=PSPC4U&ct=DS&soi d = 2065059]:

I didn t find any information that a second HDD can be inserted.
So I guess that it of not possible to add and second HARD drive.

Usually if a second HDD is possible while a second Bay HARD drive with the second HARD disk controller (connector) should be available. I doubt that!

  • 2nd optical drive in HP 700-074

    First time poster.

I more or less decided on the HP Envy 700 - 074 as my new computer. My question is this:

I would move the Blu - Ray Burner I have in my current system in this new model, but the eject button on the drive is at the bottom of the unit, instead of just above the bottom, as it is in most of the readers. I had to remove the slab to my Dell for this player, because he would not contact with the eject button.

I'll be able to use this disc in the 700-74, or do I have to buy another drive that has the well-positioned eject button or buy an external hard drive?

    Thanks for any input.

    Clay

As the eject button is in a different position (thanks, LG), using Windows to eject the disk is an option. The player is around 5 years, however, and I have my eye on a nice USB 3.0 external drive, so I can go that route.

    Thanks for your reply.

    Hello

That s just to change the BIOS settings in the BIOS!
I think that the BIOS settings are placed in the last page of the BIOS (3).

Try setting the 1RAID-0 on the first HARD disk and the 2RAID-0 the second HARD disk.

It worked well on my laptop.

By the way; information on the RAID configuration found in the user manual.

    Have a nice day ;)

  • Fixed R40e and R50e optical drive?

    Hi all

I plan to buy a used Thinkpad, or a R40e a R50e. The R40e comes with a drive to DVD - ROM and the R50e with a CD-ROM drive. I'm leaning toward the R50e, because it is better in all aspects, except that it cannot read the DVD. I thought that I could replace the CD-ROM drive later with a drive combo or something, but then I looked around, a little on the web and got a little confused.

I read that "some options are not compatible with ThinkPad R50e systems because the Ultrabay drive is fixed." I also read the same thing about the R40e, but not on the Lenovo Web site. At the same time, I saw that Lenovo had some videos on how to remove and install the optical drives in the R40e and the R50e.

Then it is replaceable or not? A I misunderstood something? The Ultrabay drive is not the same as the CD/DVD drive?

If someone could explain that to me, I would be grateful.

    See you soon,.

    Laszlo

    Hi Laszlo,

Yes, it's just a matter of withdrawal of the first keyboard to replace the optical drive in models of 'e' as R40e,ee/R51 R50. Here are some links for you and others who can be read:

This laptop has an option for a 2nd HARD drive.

I installed 2nd HARD drive and the laptop does not light.

When I remove the 2nd HARD drive it is normal again.

I'm guesing that a special BIOS change is needed to allow the reader to 2nd.

Anyone know what is the solution?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    dgtech

    Success!

I think it was just plugging in the cable needed to be reinstalled.

I confirmed that the drve was good with an external cable.

I made the stop while holding down the SHIFT key.

    Once it did not work.

Then I took out the cable and put it back making sure to he went in the port exactly how is HDD - 1.

This time, he appeared in the windows Device Manager. I already made the partition, format, assign the drive letter.

Everything is good to go now. I'm glad, that I have a lot of storage space on my laptop.

Thanks for the suggestions, have a nice day.

  • Optical drive internal in an ACER ASPIRE E15 (ES1-512-C35P model)?

I have an ACER ASPIRE E15 (ES1-512-C35P model), even though I know that is not equipped with an optical drive, I was wondering if I can install one in the blamked off the coast of port in the case? Specifically, is the motherboard configured for an optical drive or ssd in this model and if so what parts do I need to install an optical drive in this model.

(I saw lists of parts for other models Aspire E15 on the forums, but am not sure that these are common for all models.)

    Thank you

    Hello

Your laptop have the same motherboard and case sensitive (lower) for this model:

    Aspire ES1-512-C78T with a SIDE

    Here are the parts:

  • Cannot access shared optical drive on Vista Ultimate desktop PC

I have installed the optical drive (CD/DVD RW) on my desktop running Vista Ultimate in proportion. The my wife running Windows 7 Starter netbook, I am unable to access the share. I can access the other actions on the Vista Ultimate desktop such as photos, music and Documents..., I did simply not the optical drive. I was hoping to access the optical drive on my desk from the netbook to install the software from the CD and the DVD.

The netbook sees the part (called Desktop-DVD), but when I try to open it, I get the error:

    Network error
    Windows cannot access \\FAMILY-PC\Desktop-DVDDrive
You don't have permission to access the \\FAMILY-PC\Desktop-DVDDrive. Contact your network administrator to request access.

    Help, please! Thanks :)

Just to follow up on the previous post.  I solved the problem.  DVD drive (Vista) is accessible on the network, and I was able to load Microsoft Office on a netbook (XP) using the network.

    Thank you

  • PowerEdge T20 manual said to use an optical drive (slim) of 9.5 mm, but it is too small

Seemed to be a no-brainer to install an optical drive in my new PowerEdge T20 but, no.

    The manual says:

NOTE: Only thin 9.5 mm drive SATA DVD - ROM or DVD +/-RW drive can be installed in your system. External optical drives can be connected through USB ports.

It's wrong of the manual, I think. A high 9.5 mm drive is too small (not big enough).

Or am I missing something completely obvious?

    TIA

    Bob Crabtree

    Hello.

You seem to be correct. All the information that I've looked up indicates that the DVD, SATA Assembly is 12.7 mm and 9.5 mm height not. I'll wear this discrepancy to the attention of a dedicated team for correcting the manuals.

    Thank you

  • Need help to install Windows 8.1 on the partition, bootcamp on Macbook Pro 15 "mid-2010 w / no optical drive"

I tried for almost a week in all possible ways to get windows installed on a boot camp partition on my main SSD 1 TB drive as a partition, or on my HARD drive, which is installed in place of the optical drive.  So far, everything I tried to give me some sort of error at some point in the process.  It seems that many of them are case by case, so I thought that I invite you all and see if you can help!

I use a Macbook Pro 15 "mid-2010 that I improved with a 1 TB SSD drive as the startup disk.  My optical drive was not functional, so I moved my old 500 GB HARD drive to the location of the optical Bay.  I am also under the latest version of El Capitan (10.11.6)
    Here are my system specs:

    Presentation of the material:

    Model name: MacBook Pro

    Model identifier: MacBookPro6, 2

    Processor name: Intel Core i7

    Processor speed: 2.8 GHz

    Number of processors: 1

    Total number of cores: 2

(By heart) L2 Cache: 256 KB

    L3 Cache: 4 MB

    Memory: 8 GB

Processor speed of interconnection: 4.8 GT/s

    Boot ROM version: MBP61.0057.B11

Version of the SCM (System): 1.58f17

What I tried (from what I remember):

I tried to change the Bootcamp info.plist file for my version of the macbook pro to use a USB stick for the installer.  It seems to have installed correctly but once I partition the disk and restart the computer, it gets stuck on a white screen with the Apple logo and I am forced to make a hard stop and then hold down option to boot into OS X, recovery, or the EFI Boot.

If I go through the windows installation to start the EFI system, I get an error of:
"Windows cannot be installed to this disk.  The selected disk is a MBR partition table.  On EFI systems, Windows cannot be installed on GPT disks. »

I also tried to create a partition by using disk utility, and that too made me an error in the installation of windows.

So far, the only way that I'm away from windows to run at all has been using the free trial of VMware Fusion 8... but I intend to use windows for more intensive tasks like audio pro, and merger simply does not offer the performance necessary to run these programs.  I'm hoping to install windows 8.1 on my internal SSD or HARD drive, regardless of the work - as long as OS X and files associated with it are left alone.

If someone could help me please understand this point, I would really appreciate it!

    Thank you

If your computer has an optical drive, you must use the optical drive to install Windows using Boot Camp Assistant.
