Authentic Version of Windows, but it's a copy of Microsoft sent me!
Back in September 2001, I bought my computer, yes I know it's old now, but it was working good for me. Since I bought it so close to the release of the version of Windows XP, Microsoft sent us a free copy of Windows XP to download to our computer. I used it very well, but now for a few years, I get notification that my Windows is not genuine. There is a drawback to this point, but I just ignore the pop ups informing me of such. But now I had a problem downloading updates and other essential software on my computer because it does not recognize that it is a true copy.
Yes, I realize that there is a product key with the stuff Microsoft sent me, but in the last nine years, I've moved twice and went through a divorce and split all of our stuff, so I have no idea if I have this more. Does anyone know what or if there is anything, I can do to remedy this?
Thank you!
Please go to http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/ and click on the button to validate Windows, and then restart your computer.
If you were not able to validate, follow these steps:
1. Download this diagnostic tool, save it to your desktop: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=56062
-Online Windows XP: double-click the executable file to run the tool.
-Online Vista & Win7: right-click on the executable and select run as administrator to run the tool.
2. after running the tool, click the Windows tab and then click on copy (to the Clipboard).
NB: You can open a new file in Notepad, paste the contents of the Clipboard in it & keep for future reference.
3 start a new thread in the following Microsoft Genuine Advantage forum and paste the results of the WGA or OGA data diagnostic in a detailed post tool:
http://social.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/genuinewindowsxp/threads
4 Troubleshooting specialist will analyze the data and recommend an appropriate solution.

Status: 0xc00000e9My question is the question in the title: I can create or legally anywhere (?) to download a recovery disc? My computer came with a preinstalled version of Windows Vista Business 32-bit, yet there is no option of repair or integrated recovery and I don't have any drive recovery. Any help is very appreciated. I need my computer back very urgent work.
Thanks for anyone responding to this post.
How to do a startup repair disk:
Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.

ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html
It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.
You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How to get Vista recovery Media and/or to use the Vista recovery Partition on your computer.
There is no Vista free download legal available.
Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.
Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.
In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
Ask them if you can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.
They will tell you how to do this.
Every computer manufacturer has their way of doing recovery disk/s.
Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
I'm trying to run a writing more on my new computer with Windows 7. It won't work because it is a 32-bit program. I tried troubleshooting and replied he ran in an earlier version of the window, but it will not always be open. Any suggestions?
... It won't work because it is a 32-bit program...
Writing more is an accounting since the beginning of 1990s and support program was interrupted as of January 31, 2006. While I have no personal experience with the program, it is unlikely he was still 32-bit. It is much more likely that it was a 16-bit program, and that's why you have trouble to install and it works on a 64-bit Windows 7 installation.If your program or its request for installation is a 16-bit-based program and you have a 64-bit version of Windows it simply does not natively regardless of the compatibility settings. You need to run and install Virtual PC XP Mode to have any chance of a fully operational 16-bit subsystem. If you are running Windows 7 Professional or ultimate, you can use Windows XP Mode and Virtual PC without a second license of Windows.
Windows Virtual PC
http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/Virtual-PC/Download.aspxNote: you can't run XP Mode on Windows Home editions. If you are running Windows 7 Home Premium or somesuch, you use DosBox or any other program 3rd party virtualization that works with Home Premium. Visit the forums dedicated to these programs for more information.
I downloaded Windows English version 1.45 GB trials.
It downloaded, but I can't open the file Captivate_8_LS21.7z.
I have 32-bit. Will this work?
Hello
In order to download / install Captivate 8 32-bit, you must download the 2 files (.7z and .exe) at the same place / folder.
Once both completely downloaded files then you will need to run the .exe file and it will extract the .7z first and then to initialize the installation program. You don't have to open the .7z file.
Let me give you the download links to Captivate 8 32 bit: -.
Say the mention of the link below in any Internet Explorer open Web browser
https://www.Adobe.com/cfusion/TDRC/index.cfm?product=Captivate
Sign in using your Adobe id and your password, then you will be redirected to download the Captivate 8 Web Page.
Do not click download. Kindly leave this window open as it is.
Now copy and paste the reference to the link below in the new window of the same Web browser in which you opened the link above.
http://trials3.Adobe.com/AdobeProducts/CPTV/8/Win32/Captivate_8_LS21.7z
Then Save the file.
Do the same for the mention of the link below and save the file .exe so.
http://trials3.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/CPTV/8/Win32/Captivate_8_LS21.exe
Make sure the two files (.7z and .exe) save/download in the same folder/location.
NOTE: Wait for the two files at the end of download and then run the .exe file.
Once you run the .exe, it will begin to extract the .7z file and provide Captivate 8 folder on your desktop that contains setup.exe. Run the setup.exe to install 8 Captivate.
Kind regards
I have an ifone6 that is not recognized by iTunes. It has a newer version of iTunes, but when I check the updates, it says I have the latest version. Thinking that it is a matter of Win XP. Thanks for help.
You can run the latest version of iTunes for your version of Windows, but you are not running the latest version of iTunes is available and it's iTunes 12.3. You must run Windows 7 at least. I'm not a Windows user, but I think 7 is newer than XP.
Check this.
What version of Windows I have?
What version of Windows I have? I can not also read the sticker because it is worn out and the laptop will not completely start or repair, recovery disks are lost. Part number is readable bbut paert looks like:
Can I use any dissk installation of re - install no matter what windows I had pre-installeed.
the laptop is a HP G61-110SA laptop
THX
Hello
You probably don't need to know what version of Windows, but the Panel of configuration/system will tell you if you are interested. There will probably be a sticker on the laptop (not the one that you can not read, under the cover near the mouse pad), which you said, but I guess you could have peeled off.
Look at this link for how to do a system reinstall...
In addition, if provided with the laptop or you recovery disks burn them for yourself these should also do the job.
Before do you a re-install back up your data you can restore it later. You will also need to re - install the software that was installed after purchase.
Hello
I just build a new complete PC and decides to get Windows 7 Pro for it. It cost me £179 on amazon from a seller who has good reviews.
All looks well and many of such security features mentioned on this site:
http://www.Microsoft.com/en-us/howtotell/software.aspx#packaging
Are in place (change holograms that you change the view, etc.). However when I enter the product key, I get this message:
"Code:
0xC004C008
Description:
The activation server determined that the specified product key cannot be used. »
I tried to go there several times, checking the caps lock etc.. The version says ' origin: Ireland ' on the insignia case of authenticity and the seller told me that before I bought it and it would work as a version of the United Kingdom's retail. The additional complication is I am currently based in France (where I tried to activate it since), but as an English speaker needed an English language version of Windows.
I have run the MGADiag.exe and this is the output:
However the question turns out to be that my legitimate version (package and all disks of good mine) and it's legitimate keys used did not match exactly.
The unused key was for a version of Windows 7 Edition product update Home Premium to Windows 7 Pro, so that's why it did not work on the new facility I was trying.
I contacted the seller amazon to let them know about this problem as it is possible that there is a lot that is perhaps not entirely legitimate.
Once again thanks to the MVP here and people I talked on the phone before this is resolved, I suspect that this could become a problem growing with Windows 7, as people are not super keen on 8 and 7 is a solid BONE with a little support left? So even if you pay a rate of 'good' for your Windows 7 disks, be aware that you can not get exactly what you expected, and maybe it would be nice if MS has always sold direct to counter this kind of question?
Thanks again to both for your advice, MVP
Yours sincerely,
Zak.
