Authentication and Password Manager

I'm trying to see if there is a way to turn the password manager leave during installation of the authentication work.

We are running Dell Data Protection Enterprise Edition and currently using the encryption part, but we are now beginning to deploy Latitude E7470 with a fingerprint Reader.  We want to allow users to use the Finger Print Reader to log on the system, but do not want to use it for all the different websites in that they connect.  Is there a way to disable or permanently disable password manager during the installation of the part of authentication?

Hi Tim,.

You can not disable the functionality of password currently switch installation Manager however the below registry additions will prevent the operating password manager.

  • Firefox is no longer save my passwords, even though I have it set to save passwords and password manager asks if I want to save the password.

  • All content tiles missing and integrated PDF reader and password manager no longer works after update to 34.0

    Hello
After that I updated to 34.0 on OSX 10.9.5 (auto update comprehensive), I noticed that all of the content of the tile is missing. Before the update, I have seen a lot of tiles when I open a new tab. Even after a few navigation, no content appears (I see only an array of blank tiles). I went between white classic, bright, cooler. No effect.

In addition, integrated in the viewer PDF does not work. All the time I click on the pdf link, I see the window to download the PDF with the title "enter the name of the file to save on...» ». Before the update, PDF Viewer has not worked, no problem. After that I noticed the problem, I checked that the preferences-> requests and confirmed that the action to the 'Portable Document Format (PDF)' content type is set to "Preview in Firefox".

In addition, Manager of integrated password also stopped working. He remembers no new password. It provides no password already known on the site where he provided automatically the account and the password before the update. I checked the preferences-> Security-> saved passwords. There are a lot of passwords to remember (remember before the update).

I re - install the firefox manually. It does not help.

Can someone help me? Is there any information I can provide to sort my problem?

You can check for problems with preferences.

Delete possible user.js and files numbered prefs-# .js and rename (or delete) the file prefs.js to reset all the prefs by default, including the prefs set via user.js and pref which is no longer supported in the current version of Firefox.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder currently in use:

    • Help > troubleshooting information > profile directory: see file (Linux: open the directory;) Mac: View in the Finder)

Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problem.

    See "create a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a profile already used in the new profile, but be careful not to copy files corrupted to avoid transporting more problems.

When I try to enter the password automatically with the activation of the footprint of the password is not entered. The password is entered if I click on the Password Manager icon select fill in the data of logon and authentication with my Windows password. • Using the network authentication Windows 7 name of user and password to connect to a network (internet access)

When I try to CONNECT to my network, I get a window of security Windows network authentication requires a user name and password. I have no idea this here. Apparently until I find it I will not be able to connect wirelessly to the Internet

I assume you are using Windows 7 and trying to connect to the wireless network? There are many discussions here for precisely this question and answers not very unhelpful.  Have you tried to manually add the wireless network and select Connect automatically?   This seems to have solved my problems.

    1. open network and sharing Center (click on start - Control Panel - Network and sharing Center)

    2. click on manage networks wireless on the left side and opens a new window - manage wireless networks that use (wireless)

    3. click on add

    4. click on add a network profile

    5. Enter the name of the network - security Type and security key (this info should be provided by your internet service provider)

    6. check the box that says "Connect automatically when this network is in range" and click the next button

    7. click on the close button in the next window that opens (or you can take a look at the settings, if you like, and then click close)

  • View 7, Identity Manager 2.6 and Windows authentication, and whether or not real SSO is required for Kerberos

I am trying to configure our environment so that users can open the Identity Manager web page and be automatically authenticated via their currently logged on credentials of domain.  I activated the Windows authentication and configured Kerberos in Identity Manager.  However, when you select a pool of offices a command prompt is received always ask the user password.  I read https://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 2143567 and understand that maybe expected behavior.  True SSO would solve this problem?  I read that true SSO supports Kerberos.  Is there another way?  The general objective is to allow the user to log on to Windows and be able to access the office pools and applications through identity web page Manager uninvited credentials again.

I just wanted to know all that true SSO did indeed me reach my goal.

  • VMWare View 5.1 and authentication RADIUS - password problem

I use Trustwave for 2-factor authentication on a Server View 5.1.1.  The Server Proxy of Trustwave requires that you enter your password to Active Directory followed by a comma, then the access provided by Trustwave code.  After that, you get the VMWare View normal login where you have to put your password in Active Directory.  Is there a way to remove the comma and the password of the first login box and simply pass the Active Directory password for the 2nd dialog box?  See the following two dialog boxes.

NOTE: All works fine, but it is confusing for the user to enter his password to Active Directory twice.

NOTE: When I check the box in the authenticators, manage, use the same username and password for Windows and RADIUS authentication, I naturally get an error because it is passing the password to Active Directory, the comma and the password of Trustwave at the 2nd fret of the connection.

    Laughing out loud

What happens with multiple RADIUS servers, is that the first guest username and password in AD. There is then a Challenge to get the access token code. In this case, you can configure view to ignore the next AD password prompt that the view can take the original RADIUS (AD password) authentication code and use it for the part of the AD authentication.

A certain RADIUS vendors operate in this way.

If the RADIUS of Trustwave server can be configured to do a Challenge of access, it would be a more standard approach to try to analyze the fields password in this way.

I can see why this would not be irritating to users.

    Select this option.

  • Whenever I update FireFox all my usernames and passwords vanish in password manager

For several updates recent Firefox all my usernames and passwords (stored in password manager) disappear. I was able to recover them by exchanging one or more of the three files to a previous version ('Key3db', 'Logins.json' and 'Prefs.js') until this WHAT THE LAST THREE OR FOUR updates. (c) how to prevent a pop-up annoying telling me to update to FireFox (other than by the update)?

  • In FF password manager (30.0), when you open change, what are all the fields and how you fill them?

When you open Edit, there are two choices: Web form and annotated.
    What is the difference?

Then, there are fields for the host, submit the prefix, username, password, etc.
How to fill out these fields?

When you click for the Manager "assumes that of the current Page", all fields not necessarily fill up, so it's just for the username and password?
I use constantly editing function, so it's a little strange to not see that further instructions here.

When I click on tools, the saved password dialog box is on the list, so it's in my toolbar all the time.
    I use it constantly.

What is the last password security? I know there are competitors of ideas. What is Mozilla?

    Thank you.

Personally, I do not record the connections site in Firefox. The FireFTP extension records the FTP connections, so I use a master password to protect the people.

I know I should finally pass a manager based password on a cloud, because if often, I forgot my login and have to reset, but... I have not bypassed by comparing the features and tests.

  • With Firefox 24, authentication ID and password are automatically filled in. With Firefox 26.0, this happens is more although the memory of password is enabled. What should do?

The ID or the password appears on a site, but the two do not seem to with Firefox 24. I have an iMac with OS X version 10.9 (Mavericks, who is also newly installed).

Note that you are currently using a beta version of Firefox 26.0 and not the current version of Firefox 25.0.

You can find the full version of the latest version of Firefox 25.0 in all languages and for all systems operating here:
