• Problem of authenticating users on L2TP over IPSec tunnel

  I have a client with an old PIX-515e firewall with firmware 7.2 (4), and due to certain circumstances, I'm trying to configure L2TP over IPSec. I'm stuck at a "Error 691: the remote connection has been deinied because the user name and password combination, you have provided is not recognized, or the selected authentication protocol is not permitted on the remote access server." I have local installation of authentication for this connection, and I tried to use ms-chap-v2, chap and pap, and give the same results. I have confirmed the username and the password, but I can't after that.

  The PIX, I don't see "AAA user authenticaton rejected: reason = invalid password: local database: user = tetstuser". I can still see the password unencrypted on the screen, so I can copy and paste the username and password in the appropriate fields, and I still have this error.

  Does anyone have an idea where the problem lies perhaps? Thank you.

  Can you please change the user as described in the doc, I shared and as indicated by the Rohan peers and share the results of the tests?

  I use the ACS 5.2 as the solution of authentication in my network. I configured two situations: access with network access policies and peripheral Administration.

• Authentication with 4.1 problem

  Thank you for connection information, I could access the application now.

  As you write a custom authentication, I assumed that you have created a CUSTOM type authentication model. This application has a type authentication scheme 'Application Express', but the app doesn't really use it that way. The process to submit on the login page shows just apex_custom_auth.post_login to keep the user name of the session.

  I created a sample application with the authentication of the apex and a process to submit on the login page that says only:

  You can still have the tab control.  It is just useless to do all your processing when the user changes the tab.  You can do event on the button presses as well.  Treat the VI as a whole VI, not different tabs that you have to manage.

  This looks like standard network authentication. Go into the control panel. Network connections. Open the properties of the wireless network connection. Should be an Authentication tab where you have enabled authentication for 802. 1 x.

• Copy the user default profile problem profile

  I am trying to copy a user profile to the default profile for all users who log on will have the same parameters as the user.
  I used the built in tool copy of profile under System Properties > advanced > settings...
  For all copies fine except some program registry keys still point to the original profile rather than the newly created on logon profile.  This seems to work without problems under XP but in Vista it fails every time.
  Is there a new way to manage default profiles, that I don't know?

  CopyProfile Specifies if the default user usually stored under C:\Users\Default profile is replaced with the profile of the currently logged in user. You can use this parameter to copy the settings of user profile in all user accounts created on the destination computer.

  Use the following steps to define custom user profiles:

  Connect you as the user whose profile you can customize (for example, the built-in Administrator account).

  Customize the settings of the user profile of your choice.

  Set the CopyProfile to true.

  Run the command sysprep / generalize to copy the custom default user profile user profile settings.

  All subsequent user accounts created will have the customizations that you set. For more information about Sysprep, see the Sysprep technical reference in the Kit OPK (Windows OPK) user's Guide.

  This setting does not copy the profile of the built-in Administrator, unless the built-in administrator is the currently logged-on user.

• Standard user account & installation problem (Win7)

  Unfortunately, I came across a problem which I think is due to administrative privleges, or lack thereof.

  Currently I am able to connect and print to my printer a HP Officejet 6600, but I am unable to use the scan function.

  On the printer after selection "Scan" and then "computer" it displays "No registered computer" and on my laptop after start-> all programs-> HP-> HP Officejet 6600-> HP Scan I get the error message "HP Officejet 6600." not found

  I ran the "HP print and scan" utility of diagnosis and he told me that I needed to install the software package full of features to use the scan function.

  My problem is the standard user account that I can't install the software.

  I am however able to solve this problem in the administrator account. Can I install the full package of features or even using the Installation Wizard of the software to install & to add/install a new printer (wireless).

  So, here's my question:
  Does anyone know what local security policy or group policy I have to modify to allow users Standard fix this in their account?

  A: your only choices are the two that I mentioned above.  Disable the standard/UAC user account or run as administrator installation files.  If those who do not work, then check with MS to see what you need to do to get these working wrapper running as it should.

  To my knowledge, anytthing would also require a 3rd party application to serve as a local application broker.  The broker assented request to install and can be configured to evevate some applications/processes to run as administrator by providing credentials of the administrator to the BONE.  For example, we are currently investigating a product called Power Broker to accomplish this task for us on the Win 8 + OS.

  Theres no doubt, the accounts of users of STDS are a pain in the thigh for admins.  Everyone needs to find a way to manage the rights that they give to their users.  HP cannot help you until find you the part of MS. user rights

  The output is the router console 2800, I m trying to authenticate a user to the ACS server john, but I m not sure it performs the authentication or not by the output above, when I specify a different password to the AEC and the router it does'nt accept the ACS password it takes rather the local password configured for john.

  When the same configuration I have with the 2960 switch it works very well for the user, it accepts different password for the ACS and the local when I disconnect the ACS from the local network.
