Auto assigned IP & cable disconnected?

I have a strong signal to internet and my iPad and iPhone are on WiFi fine. However, my older iMac gets these error messages (auto assigned IP and cable disconnected). I can't even know that if I get "bars" he says still no internet on WiFi. What is with all the conversations of Ethernet that plug that sinus 15 years ago? I don't even have an external router from the airport. I was able to get to this place 6 months... But not now. My work depends on my putting on the computer. Advice or assistance before he went to the shop?

I did all the things I know: reset the Comcast router, reset IP, run the wizard, run diagnostics, check the WiFi connections? Removed from the network and set it up again.

It seems that your iMac is configured to use Ethernet no WiFi.

What are the parameters you use in system-> network preferences.

    Hello

I can not access my LAN or internet.
    I use a Satellite A20-S103 with a Realtek RTL8139/810 x Family Fast Ethernet NIC

When I connect the Lan cable to the LAN port, the message "LAN Cable" disconnected.
The same message is displayed using connectivity doctor ConfigFree.

I have changed several cables, used cables that worked on other computers and the message still there and no access to the router/modem.

Near the LAN port LEDs are not lightning (or orange or green, no)

I already read messages here in the forum (and other forums) and I can't get the ethernet card works.

Do you think the problem is with the card or the operating system.

    Can you help me?
    Sorry for my English

First, check to see if the network card has been recognized in the Device Manager.
Under network adapters, you should see the LAN card.

If there is a yellow exclamation point near network card then the driver has not been installed correctly or there is another serious error.

In the first case I recommend the withdrawal of the LAN card from the Device Manager and after new reboot, you should try to reinstall the driver downloaded from the Toshiba page!

In addition, you must set TCP/IP parameters automatically because the router assigns the IP address automatically.

Please check and report the results

    Good luck

  • WiFi worked very well. Tried to connect the second device. "Wi - Fi auto-assignée 169.254.49.8 IP address and won't be able to connect... »

One of our MacBook has been connected to the internet through our router base station Airport Express wireless and wifi worked very well. All of a sudden, the other MacBook could not connect. After a few days of no connection on one while the other worked, we rebooted the modem. Now neither laptop connects. We called our ISP and they verified that all is well with our internet service or the modem. Internet works fine with the cable plugged directly on each machine. Under network in system preferences, I get this message: "Wi - Fi 169.254.49.8 auto assigned IP address and won't be able to connect to the internet." When I run the diagnostic, I get a message saying that my network configuration has changed, but it has not changed anything. We have never gone and nothing changed since we first set up the modem and the AEBS. Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

Yes, the express can do that... Suddenly lose the configuration and return to the bridge for example even when connected to a modem to bridge.

The solution is simple... Press reset and redo the Express installation.

NOTE... an Express is not expected that the main router... It's light to etc. of airprint, airplay wireless bridge. Don't wait to have no problems when you use the Express to do the work of the extreme or TC or another router should do.

  • Ethernet, says "cable disconnected".

Ethernet, says "cable disconnected" I looked at a few posts... but they are old messages and say, update to 3.28.2, mine is Articles 3.30.1

Referring you to update to 3.28.2? Where do you get this error message? Your iMac still running OS X Lion mountain 10.8.1? What exact model is your iMac?

  • Trying to connect a computer to the lan port Aiport Express "auto assigned IP address"

I am trying to connect a computer to the lan on my Airport Express port. In preferences, it says "status: connected, Ethernet has an assigned IP address and won't be able to connect to the internet." Any suggestions?

An "auto assigned" IP address indicates that your computer could not find or negotiate with a DHCP server to obtain an IP address appropriate for network access.

It should be more on your network to provide assistance if you need it. For example, is the terminal of AirPort Express the only router in the current configuration of your network? What exact model do? What is the brand and model of your modem Internet?

  • Unplugged - Ethernet cable disconnected

    Hello

I have the new Mac Mini (end of 2014) running OS X El Capitan 10.11.3 version.

I was able to connect to the internet properly using the wired connection. However, after the last reboot I did, I can connect is more and where to open system-> network preferences I see Ethernet connected not-> cable disconnected.

The problem is that the cable is connected, and the network is working properly for other devices. I tried to use another network cable and switch to another port in the router, but does not (the same ports and same cables work well for other devices).

    The WiFi worked very well.

Any thoughts on how to fix this annoying problem?

    Thanks in advance

  • Auto assignment destinations

    Hi all

It's my dilemma; I have a PDF file which is quite large (more than 150 pages) and I need that they have a destination on each page where the name of these destinations are the page number itself. Now, I could go through each page and got to the destination but I have 7 PDF files do this for this are different lengths. Is there a function plug-in or integrated auto assign a destination per page which was the number of this page? I could not find anything anywhere for the moment.  Just trying to see if I could save me some trouble and time not manually by doing this. Thanks in advance for any help/help that anyone can give.

    Something like #page = 3 file.pdf

  • Said airport Time Capsule LAN Ethernet cables disconnected, but they are all connected

We have a Time Capsule airport 2nd generation connected to a Comcast Modem for Internet service. Our network is suddenly saying that the LAN Ethernet does not work because a cable is unplugged. However, I checked all the cables and connections. I disconnected all devices and then only plugged my Mac a to. A continuous Wi - Fi connection to work but not the Ethernet LAN. I tried to use another LAN cable. He also said that a cable is unplugged. We need the Ethernet LAN to access high-speed Internet and I tried everything and can not operate. The Ethernet LAN has been upward and years of work. If the Capsule or the Comcast Modem was defective, we would not have Wi - Fi access to the Internet, but we do. Material preferences network has always been implemented are configured automatically. However, the speed is now empty display instead of speed. If I change the settings to manually set up the material, I am still unable to set the speed manually, because when I try to select the up-down arrows next to the speed, nothing happens. It's as if the speed setting has been disabled. It's so frustrating. And I have no idea how to fix this.

If you have not already completed a power cycle full of your network, now would be a good time to do this.

Turning off all network devices in any order you want

    Wait a minute

Turn on the modem first and leave 2-3 minutes, he managed by itself

Switch on the device connected to the modem and leaves turn a good minute

Keep power devices one at a time about a minute out until the entire network is back

    Check the network

  • Will not restart the PC if the power cable disconnected

After a brief power cut recently, my desktop computer Dell Inspiron that PC will not re-start. The Start button was dead, as if the power supply cable was not connected. After about an hour it rebooted normally and was going well until next time, I unplugged the power cable; then it was dead again for about 1 hour. This cycle is repeatable. All goes well as long as the power remains connected. I can shut down, hibernate, or whatever it is, as long the power is not disconnected.

It is never used to be like this. What has gone wrong?

    Hello

I agree 100% that it's hardware related. I bet that cut in power was a power surge or something like that and something inside the PC took the brunt of it. You connect the PC to a surge protector by chance?
I advise that you take that PC in a computer repair shop, or a competent expert, because it really doesn't sound like there is something of physically inside this PC that could be damaged. And whenever you're dealing with power, it is best not to wait until something is wrong.

  • WAP321 Auto Assign channels (Single, Point)

    Hello

I have 2 x WAP321 (each about 50 feet of eachother) and helped the Signle Point configuration so I can see them both there now).

Now, I also see the allocation option automatically the channels in channel management for the entire cluster (two points of xs).

This sounds like a good and interesting idea, but my question is, when it changes channel, custom cutting automatically wireless clients all connected to the AP? Because we have wireless speakers and other devices that should stay connected as long as possible.

    Anyone know?

Hi, my name is Eric Moyers. I am a network Support Engineer in the Cisco Small Business Support Center. Please use the Forums to Post community of Cisco.

You are right. With Auto Channel any time that WAP change channel, it will be a disconnection of the devices when switching channels. Normally, I always recommend that the client does not auto-channel

Automatic channel works best in a network that does not have a lot of signal noise around. In a crowd, area signal if these signals are on auto and yours are on auto. your device should spend more time jumping around looking for a clear signal, that of providing a signal that you can use.

    Thank you

  • PIX failover: failover cable disconnected and active the unit off

    Hi all

We have 2 PIX 515E 6.3 (3) in the failover configuration (not stateful failover). Basically, the failover works very well. Recently, we did some testing of failover and had the following situation:

When we force the active PIX failover cable is disconnected, the rest-aid box inactive and has not changed in the active state.

It is the 'normal' behavior or is there something wrong?

    Thank you for your response.

    Daniel Ruch

    Daniel,

As mentioned previously, the behavior you report is expected. If the failover cable is removed from a pair of PIX failover during the race, each PIX will maintain it's State as active it or standby PIX. Remove the failover cable in effect, disables the failover of both units to avoid having two devices moving to an active state.

Does make sense? I'm still confused what about * why * you test this though. Is this something you think that will happen in your environment?

  • Unable to connect to the network in an OS Win 7 comments when the cable disconnected

    Hello

I have a Win7 x 64 host with Workstation 7.0 executes 2 guests - is also a Win 7 x 64 and the other is a Win 2003 R2 x 86. Both work quite well when I have a cable plugged into the host network, but when I unplug it, the Win 2003 comments always connects to the network local vm end (for example I can ping the host and I have a correct IP address with ipconfig) while the prompt of Win 7 says "unidentified network".

I have something special for the networking of comments (or even the host by the way) and that the guest Win2003 worked 'out of the box"that makes me think that the Win7 to work also with some small configuration changes somewhere - someone can help point me in the right direction?

    See you soon

    Dan

If both are NAT, both should have the Internet connection if you have removed the cable, because NAT virtual network connects to each host TCP/IP stack.

Are you sure? It really sounds like a bridge and the other is NAT. If you unplug the cable from the network status of the guests should not change. If in doubt, post the two guests .vmx files.
