AutoCAD release 12 runnability in w/service pack 3 for Windows XP Home Edition
trying to run autocad release 12, a 16-bit application in Windows XP home edition with service pack 3. After installing the program... and when you try to start autocad... Get the error message saying "division by zero or overflow error" How can I run the 16-bit program in XP which is 32 bit? Thank you
I know it's a little late, but in case someone tries to run CAD r12, this link may provide some information... http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/AutoCAD-R12-R13-R14-Archive/Divide-by-Zero-or-Overflow-Error-AutoCad-12/td-p/1368
Version 12 is from the days of MS-DOS; We used to get these errors then too, but it is a long time ago and I don't remember what the fix was at the time. However, you can try to install a Virutal Machine DOS or Windows Virtual PC.

Addition of Service Pack 3 for Windows XP Home Edition creates the system failure
We have an older Compaq Presario that came with Windows XP Home Edition. [a Pentium 1 2005]
I try to install Windows Live Onecare (free Qwest). When I update our Windows XP Home with Service Pack 3, when I reboot I get a black screen that says that there is an error with a recent change of hardware or drivers. So I boot safe mode.
There has been no hardware changes.
I did a destructive restore by using the Compaq recovery disk which is supposed to wipe the drive and reinstall everything.
I can update Windows XP with service pack 3 and everything works. When I install Windows Live Onecare, at the next restart I get the same black screen and need to start in safe mode.
I can do a destructive restore and load Windows Live Onecare and work without any problem as long as I do not install Service Pack 3.
I tried to make recovery of Windows with the same results. I can do a restore before any point where I do not have the Windows Live Onecare and the Service Pack 3 and everything works fine.So I guess that there is a conflict between Windows XP Service Pack 3 and Windows Live Onecare on this computer. I have both works well on other computers in our home network, but they are Pentium III or higher.
Anyone know if there is a difficulty, or just simply never through my XP Home SR3?
TIA, LR0451

Hello
I tried to download and install Service Pack 2 using Windows Vista Home Edition, or anything like that on the internet without success. According to me, the key word is internet or a block of Vista from the internet to install anything. Many people here get the same error 80070005 for SP2 as I am, but I think that the problem is with Vista, how the system allows any installs or blocks installed from the internet. I suppose that some are able to go through the download process, but installation is where it does not pass through. There are moments where it seems that the installation of SP2 works, but it will fail eventually. Other times what ever happens to the installation process. The same goes for all other downloads and installs from the internet. I am able to install a program that already exists on the computer, so I know that installs works just not the Internet. Do not send me a link to install because it probably won't last through. I may be able to download but installation will not pass by so that the program will not work. I used the words installation and internet a lot for some reason please take account, when responding.
Thank you

I tried many times to print a simple USPS shipping label today, I could download a USPS 88 page manual, but not the program to print the label or the label. They say that if I use Windows XP Home Edition, I have Service Pack 4 or later. I can't find any reference to Service Pack 4 on Microsoft help programs.
Now I'm wondering if there is a solution about my fate. Any advice will be appreciated. Thank youThere is no service pack 4 for Windows XP.

Original title: problem after installing Windows Service Pack 3 on Windows XP Home Media edition pc
My pc runs Windows XP Home Media edition. I installed Windows Service Pack 3 successfully, or so I thought. Whenever I turn on my pc a box opens indicating "files which are required for Windows to run properly have been replaced by unrecognized versions." To maintain the stability of the system. Windows must restore the original versions of these files. Install your Windows XP Professional CD2. I don't have any Windows XP Professional CD that I use the Home Media Edition. If I press Cancel repeatedly, the window disappears to return with the same information, but ask me to install Windows XP Professional CD3. How can I stop this happening?
Hello
Step 1: I suggest you perform the SFC scan on the computer and check.
SFC tool scans system files and replaces incorrect versions of system files by using the correct versions.
To run the System File Checker tool, follow these steps:
1. Click Start and type cmd in the box start the search.
2. right click on cmd in the list programs and then click Run as administrator.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue
3. at the command prompt, type the following line and press ENTER:sfc/scannow
Step 2: Also, look for error messages in the event viewer. If you find error messages after return the exact error message so that we can help you better.

No rumour of 'Service Pack 2 for Windows 7' - true or false?
Is it true that Microsoft refuses to release a Service Pack 2 for Windows 7 to try to persuade people in the upgrade to the new operating system of Windows tablet. Or is it just a rumor? If it's a rumor when Service Pack 2 for Windows 7 comes out? I have 235 + post Service Pack 1 updates on my computer. It is a bit ridiculous at this point.
It's just rumor, there has been no official statement from Microsoft regarding future updates and service packs for Windows 7.

Full service pack 2 for Windows Vista update problem
I'm bad havivg update to service pack two for Windows Vista Edition full. After I download and install the package it says then return back to the previous windows instalation. This whole process takes seven or eight hours. Then, I get so sort of little box on a black screen with some kind of error message and code. The last time I did this update I have re-installed a clean windows all over vista. So I lose some files. Then, Windows stores some of the files on the instalation of windows prior to an old file of windows. So what should I do to solve this problem? Is there a quick fix to this problem? Anybodys help is appreciated.
