Autoextend Tablespace clause

Hi DBAs,

I have a doubt about the Autoextend clause in the create Tablespace command.

CREATE tablespace exm Datafile ' / exm.dbf' size 400 M AUTOEXTEND ON next 20 M MAXSIZE 2 G;

If we give over drive it will then autoextend even if it crosses its maxsize specified 2 GB? or he will cease to autoextending and error?

Kind regards

Ritu

Let's see what says the docs:

ALTER TABLESPACE users ADD DATAFILE '/u02/oracle/rbdb1/users03.dbf' SIZE 10M AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT 512K MAXSIZE 250M;

The value of NEXT is the minimum size of the increments added to the file when it runs. The value of MAXSIZE is the maximum size to which the file can be extended automatically.

Change the size of the data file

Thus, AutoExtend which is related to the database only, not with tablespace; will work in the NEXT value up to MAXSIZE clause block.  After that you will get a system error can not extend the tablespace tbsname of N bytes. You can set MAXSIZE to a file that support your operating system.

  • Having problems to import tables to a new user with new tablespace

    Hi all

    Here is my scenario:

    I have a user, the latter having data stored in storage - say q, w, e.
    I would like to export all the tabledata and import it to a new user USER_B. All data imported to B must be kept in the USER_B_PERM tablespace.

    I tried a lot of things yet, but imp always try importing the tables for the original tablespaces.

    What have I done now:

    create new databases:

    create tablespace USER_B_PERM
    DATAFILE ' / oradata_big, path, USER_B, USER_B_PERM. DBF' SIZE 126 M
    SIZE UNIFORM LOCAL 125M MANAGEMENT MEASURE;

    ALTER DATABASE DATAFILE ' / oradata_big, path, USER_B, USER_B_PERM. DBF'
    AUTOEXTEND ON;

    create temporary tablespace USER_B_TEMP
    TEMPFILE ' / oradata_big, path, USER_B, USER_B_TEMP. DBF' SIZE 126 M
    SIZE UNIFORM LOCAL 125M MANAGEMENT MEASURE;

    ALTER DATABASE TEMPFILE ' / oradata_big, path, USER_B, USER_B_TEMP. DBF'
    AUTOEXTEND ON MAXSIZE 3000M;

    CREATE user B:

    -SQL USER
    CREATE USER USER_B IDENTIFIED BY USER_B
    DEFAULT TABLESPACE "USER_B_PERM".
    TEMPORARY TABLESPACE "USER_B_TEMP";

    -ROLES
    GRANT "RESOURCE" TO USER_B;
    'CONNECT' GRANT TO USER_B.
    ALTER USER USER_B ROLE BY DEFAULT "RESOURCE", "CONNECT";

    -SYSTEM PRIVILEGES
    GRANT CREATE ANY VIEW TO USER_B;
    REVOKE A USER_B UNLIMITED TABLESPACE;
    change the quota USER_B unlimited user on USER_B_PERM.

    export of old data
    owner file = exp_user_a.exp exp = USER_A compatible exp.log = LINES Y = Y = log

    new user import
    IMP file = exp_user_a.exp fromuser = USER_A, USER_B log = imp.log ROWS = touser = Y

    Because I revoked the UNLIMITED TABLESPACE privilege imp creates tables in the original storage spaces (q, w, e) but the data import failed:
    ORA-01536: space-Programmvielfalt fur Tablespace 'q' passed.

    Any ideas? I don't see what is different to the docs:
    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/B19306_01/server.102/b14215/exp_imp.htm#i1023312

    We are using oracle 11.2.0.1 and we have still a few columns long raw if it matters.

    Thanks in advance,

    I tried a lot of things yet, but imp always try importing the tables for the original tablespaces.

    If the table was created with the specific tablespace clause, then it will go in particular tablespace.

    I would like to export all the tabledata and import it to a new user USER_B. All data imported to B must be kept in the USER_B_PERM tablespace.

    easy to solve this problem in impdp datapump, use clause REMAP_TABLESPACE.

  • tablespace as defined in the model of the index is not used for manually defined indexes

    Hello

    in the 4.0.1.836 version, I defined under model in Modeler, model, physics, use index of preferences / Data (I use the German version, I hope that I have translated correctly) an index template that contains a value for the attribute tablespace.

    For indexes that are generated automatically (as defined in the properties of my model under the generation of index DDL/auto/properties") it works fine. There was a thread on this already Tablespace for the automatically generated index. It works very well. However, for indexes that manually in a table there is no tablespace clause in the generated ddl script generated. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

    Thanks for your help,

    Jochen

    Hello Jochen,

    Yes.  You are right.  For manually defined indexes, the Index model is applied when the Index is created in the first place.  As these properties are in the physical model, it is only effective if the relevant physical model is open when the Index is created in the first place.  The Tablespace defined in the template is applied only if the physical model contains a Tablespace with the same name.

    I guess it's a bit inconsistent for the automatically generated index Tablespace clause is generated when the physical model is not open.

  • How to restore the tablespaces only 4 while cloning with RMAN?

    Hello
    How to restore the tablespaces only 4 not all areas of storage in one database to the new database of cloned all cloning with RMAN?

    I don't think it's possible to restore only 4 storage space for the database 'auxiliary '. Instead, you can use the "SKIP TABLESPACE" cloning while clause.

    You can exclude the tablespaces that you don't want the database duplicate with the SKIP TABLESPACE clause. You can exclude any tablespace except the SYSTEM tablespace or tablespaces containing rollback or undo segments.

    Refer to this http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B14117_01/server.101/b10770/rcmsynta28.htm

  • CREATE TABLE to another OWNER/SCHEMA and in a different TABLESPACE?

    I am connected to a user of the SYSTEM. Now, I want to create a table of aaa. The owner of this table should not be SYSTEM but user KARL. and STORAGE space should not be SYSTEM but the tdtc TABLESPACE (existing).

    As far as I know I can do this by running the following command:

    CREATE TABLE KARL.aaa (an INTEGER,...) Tttt TABLESPACE;

    Regarding the TABLESPACE parameter, I'm not sure. Is it possible to return a user Karl TABLE in a TABLESPACE that is not assigned to him?

    In addition, I have another problem.
    I have a script with hundreds of CREATE TABLE, ALTER TABLE + CREATE INDEX DDL statements.
    Each of them are not prefixed with schema/owner and a TABLESPACE clause.

    I can put a single statement at the top of the script somehow that such Oracle

    -Thomas TABLESPACE as TABLESPACE for all DOF stements
    ?

    In MYsql, there is a statement «use < database >» Is soemthing similar to Oracle?

    Thank you
    Peter

    Yes... you can do. For example, a user who has a secret password that you do not want to give... as a schema of the application. User B needs to make paintings/objects in A schema and you want to follow this as user B. First configure Oracles Fine grain auditing and then grant "connect via" user A to user B as follows:
    -----

    SQL> create user b identified by abc123
      2    quota unlimited on users;

    User created.
    SQL> grant create session to b;

    SQL> create user a identified by abc123
      2    quota unlimited on users;

    User created.

    SQL> grant create table
      2      , create session
      3     to a;

    Grant succeeded.

    SQL> alter user a grant connect through b;

    User altered.

    SQL> connect b[a]/abc123@a486
    Connected.

    SQL> show user
    USER is "A"
    SQL> create table a.my_proxy_table
      2  ( c1 number
      3  , c2 varchar2(50)
      4  , c3 date
      5  );

    Table created.

    -----
    See I have connected using the syntax "username [proxyuser]." Also note that user B is by proxy user has, as evidenced by my order 'show user '. The connection through can be granted/revoked as needed without disclosing A goes to B. In addition, your audit tables or xml logs will follow the fact that user B created the table a.my_proxy_table.

    Hope this helps,

  • Creating indexes and a default tablespace

  • Is it possible to assign more than one tablespace to a user?

    Hello

    Is it possible to assign more than one tablespace to a user? How?. It makes no sense to do?

    Thank you

    You can only assign a default tablespace to a user account, but you can give quotas to different storage spaces for the same user account. If the storage space to use is not that default to the object creation tme, objects must be created with the TABLESPACE clause.

    It may make sense for the same user account to use different storage spaces. Admin Guide http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14231/tspaces.htm#sthref1136 says:

    >
    The spaces of multiple tables using

    The spaces of multiple tables using allows you more flexibility in executing database operations. When a database has spaces of multiple tables, you can:

    *

    User data separate from database data dictionary to reduce I/O contention.
    *

    Separate data on a single application according to the data of another person to prevent multiple applications be affected if a tablespace must be taken offline.
    *

    Store different data files of different areas of storage on different disk drives to reduce I/O contention.
    *

    Use individual offline storage spaces while others stay online, providing a better overall availability.
    *

    Optimize tablespace by booking a storage space for a particular type of use of the database, such that high day activity, read-only or temporary storage of segment.
    *

    Backup individual storage spaces.

  • db_stock table

    I'm having a problem of creation of new databases in my deposit. I get the error message "no left in the table of db_stock scheme '.

    My deposit is installed on an Oracle database.

    Anyone any ideas?

    Hello

    I had the same problem.
    I solved reinstalling the server of an enterprise repository, after creating Tablespaces ARISBPDATA and ARISBPINDEX in OracleXE with AUTOEXTEND ON clause.
    Previously the Tablespaces were not CanGrow; applying therefore, consultant EPS 11 g Installation and Administration Guide (pag. 75), problem seem natural (I created, deleted, re-created, re-deleted and so on more 30 projects BPA and bases).

  • The question of subsidies!

    Hello

    O / s: HP Unix

    DB: 11.2.0.3

    Server Source_A: Let's say I have a user with the name "Rob" and this user was assigned a role 'MY_SRC_ROLE '.

    I have developed a table less fly pattern and allowed access to this table through the role

    GRANT DELETE, INSERT, SELECT, UPDATE ON rob.emp to MY_SRC_ROLE;

    I have more than 100 users and they got this role "MY_SRC_ROLE". Those 100 users can now access the emp table by role "MY_SRC_ROLE" without any problem.

    Now, I took an export datapump-run import datapump on the target server, which is also HP Unix with 11.20.3. I have server target user 'JACK' and a role called 'MY_WORK_ROLE '. 5000 users 'MY_WORK_ROLE' on this server.

    I used the remap tablespace clause & remap schema clause in the script to import datapump. Once I did an import, due to remapping of the scheme, I can see JACK now has 'emp' table, but subsidies are still not there, I tried searching on google and oracle documentation, if somehow we can remap ROLE AGREED also by datapump imp, but I could not find support syntax. Did I miss something or I can assume probably import datapump is not able to handle this particular scenario? I was able to do it by manipulating sqlfile and replace the name of role in this but I'm looking for a ground inside datapump himself.

    Sort of the bottom line, how can one grants the role 'X' transfer to 'Rôle Y' via import datapump.

    Let me know, if any further details are required.

    -Learner

    Hello

    As far as I know, you can not to remap/rname roles. You can generate the dynamic script and apply on the target

    something like that

    coil role_target.sql

    Select 'grants'. PRIVILEGE | 'MY_WORK_ROLE;' from dba_sys_privs where DEALER = "MY_SRC_ROLE";

    spool off

    @role_target.sql

    You have received the reply above. Archive of flashback stores data.

    See the link provided above to CREATE an ARCHIVE of FLASHBACK in the doc of SQL language

    Specify the table space where the data archived for this flashback data archive referring to be stored. You can specify that a tablespace with this clause. However, you can then add tablespaces to archive flashback with a statement ALTER FLASHBACK ARCHIVE database.

    The data is moved to storage of archives and restored from there when you query for archive flashback.

  • How to delete all TABLEs in the schema SYS that are created from 09:15?

    Unfortunately a script created a lot of tables in the diagram (= SYS) and bad Tablespace (= SYSTEM).

    How can I delete all TABLES that are created inTablespace = SYSTEM and SCHEMA = SYS (in a DDL command)
    respectively for the past 3 hours from 09:15 to 25 Sep 2011?

    Alternative: How can I move these tables in another schema (for example ATEST) and Tablespace (USERS)?

    You can use ALTER TABLE... MOVE. It offers a TABLESPACE clause, which allows you to choose a different tablespace as target. Refer to the documentation for your version of the database.

  • Table space not reduce after deletion in oracle 10g

    Hello..

    Based on my system, I found that my oracle table space has not reduced after the deletion request. Why?... Could someone help me. As your info, I use oracle 10g.

    Thank you
    Balleur

    After you delete the table space will not be scheduled free. high tide are not reset. to find the space you want to recognize objects that you have deleted the data. This can be done in many ways.

    (1) move the objects.
    ALTER table move temp--> possibly the tablespace clause may be used. After that, you must rebuild the indexes of the tables.

    (2) with 10 g table can be shrunken or reorganize to free up space.

    change the movement line of table mytable enable;
    change the table mytable retractable;

    (3) import/export

    export the objects and delete and recreate with import.

  • Problem all import a schema in Oracle 10 g.

    The schema import (with any import data structures only) 7 to 10g Oracle. While importing the schema, it shows "low disk space". but I have 55 GB of available disk space.
    Help me if one know about it.

    I had droped all objects and import again performed and generated the create.sql script. I tried to remove the init/next extensions from the table, however I have > found there are 183 tables.

    If you are to 9i or more and if you are using LMT with Autoallocate or uniform size and if you want to export and import these tables into another database, use this:

    Prepare the list of 183 tables.

    set long 9999999
    exec dbms_metadata.set_transform_param(dbms_metadata.session_transform, 'STORAGE', FALSE); -- this will remove the Storage clause for the objects.

    EXEC DBMS_METADATA.SET_TRANSFORM_PARAM(DBMS_METADATA.SESSION_TRANSFORM, 'TABLESPACE', FALSE); - this will Remove the tablespace clause for the objects.

    select dbms_metadata.get_ddl('TABLE','TABLE_NAME','SCHEMA_OWNER') from dual; --generate for 183 tables

    Now you have the script and run them in the target database.

    Anantha

    It cannot be used for oracle 7. Please ignore.

  • Foglight v5.5.5 tablespace monitoring when you use autoextend

    Basically, we have disabled tracking by using 'DBO - Tablespace used Pct' due to implementing autoextend on all of our databases.

    The current rule seems to be based on the percentage of used space 'allotted '. All tablespaces will warn as soon as each one crosses their threshold before being 100% complete and autoextending.

    It seems that the only way to get around this is to write a new rule to evaluate the relative free space in the data files. This would be at the database level using SQL against the SYS.dba_data_files (MAXBYTES, USER_BYTES) and the SYS.dba_free_space (BYTES) definitions and made some mathematical functions (not to mention some degree of filtering).

    Our preference would be to use the current data of the DBO Foglight to drive a valid rule.

    Your comments would be appreciated.

    See you soon
