Automatic, log in via the wireless network bridge

The main router (provided by the ISP) which brings the Internet to my home is connected to a media player.  I have a USB adapter wireless (Linksys N Series) and an ADSL Modem / gateway (Linksys WGN Modem) connected to my PC.  I can't create a wired connection to my PC from the main router as its some 25 metres, and I don't want to shoot the son as long.

I used USB wireless network adapter to connect to the router and was able to surf the net and a reasonable speed without a lot of data loss.

I've also set up a wireless bridge on my PC (Vista Home Premium).  The network bridge is created by merging the connection to the local network (which is the ADSL modem) and the wireless connection.  Once I created the bridge, I was able to read files with the PC via the media player.

The problem I have is every time, I stop the pc and reboot, the network bridge / connection is not started automatically.  I had to go and re - create the connection every time.  I don't understand why this is happeneing.  Is this due to weak signals received by the USB modem or another reason.  What is the solution?

Is there a better way to set up my home network.  Any ideas / help would be very appreciated.  Thank you

Hello

He migtht be that the IP address is dynamic and changes each time.

If you router has IP reservation use it, or to configure the static IP network devices.

Cannot print from laptop (windows 7) via the wireless router desktop (windows xp) with attached usb HP v40 .for all-in-one.

    (7) - wireless laptop router - desktop (xp) - usb - HPv40

Laptop of the coils of print job at the office and apparently complete, but the bureau simply ignores the print job.

    No error message.

    printing from office very well.

I reported this as resolved. I submitted this problem. The problem started when the update of my laptop computer from Windows XP to Windows 7. When I did, the Lexmark printer to my desktop worked find with the new system of the laptop. The HP V40 has failed. The Office has just received each print job submitted from the laptop (via a local wireless network) and scrapped it. I could see the print job come in the V40 print queue and could disappear.

Here's what I did to solve the problem:

I tried a dozen or so combinations of withdrawal and installing the printer on my Windows 7 laptop and my Office Windowx XP (with the V40 attached via USB) and manually removing and installation of printer drivers on my desktop PC, it works finally. What have I done? I have no idea, but I think that deleting manually pilots v40 on the office was part of the solution. While view printers available on my XP desktop computer, I clicked on file and one of the tabs has led me to a place where I could remove the drivers for each printer (I just removed them for the V40).

    Here's what I DIDN'T DO:

I'm not following the advice of the HP support person I contacted by phone. This Board had to reinstall Windows XP on my desktop. That clearly was not the problem when I talked to him. But he would NOT listen to reason. Luckily I have enough knowledge to know PC than its low of false tips

I am pleased with the resultant availability of the V40 again.

I have no idea how to officially close this problem.

  • Great printer Officejet 7500 a Format to connect intermittently to the computer via the wireless network

I have a portable printer Officejet 7500 has recently purchased that I would use wireless.  I have an Apple wireless router and am running Windows 7 on my computer.  The printer and computers individually connect to the network, and there is no problem with the router.  The problem is with the connection between the computer and the printer.  I can print things from my computer by sending a file to the printer, but sometimes it works through printing directly from the software.  I tried to scan my computer and the printer, but get the same error at the same time that there is no communication between the printer and the computer.  I suspect that it is a firewall problem, but do not know how to change the settings to allow this communication to occur.  I have the windows firewall and advanced software protective system, but have disabled the windows shield in this software.  Help?

First of all, download and run this utility:http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?cc=us&lc=en&jumpid=ex_r4155/hho/ipg/ccdoc/printer_diag/&lang=en&softwareitem=oj-106151-2

    What did he say?

Just to be clear, that the 7500 a is connected to the Airport via radio, correct (not USB)?

If so, we will define an external static IP and DNS address for the printer:

-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). Yours is 10.0.1.2 a.200.  We use 10.0.1.220 for your printer.
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Enter the IP of your router (on the Page of the Network Config) for the gateway.
-Enter for the first DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for second DNS. It's Google DNS. You can choose a different external DNS if you wish.
    -Click 'apply '.

Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

Regarding other software that manages the wireless card, Yes, there are (Atheros), he was not managing the adapter (off a long time ago), however, to be sure, I removed it to run in the registry.

Here is the text of how I solved the problem, I mentioned.  If you have more questions, feel free to post them.

    *****

I am just posting this here because I could solve the problem and not able to find a reliable source on the internet on a fix for this and for a problem that is the result of my attempts to fix it.

This is the situation and my landline.

I was getting this error message

    "Impossible to migrate dependent packages.

After trying to install a pacakage KB. It did not matter that one but they have been associated with the Wireless settings.

I continued to try to install the newer packages.
    KB893357
    KB917021
    KB918997

Each gave me the same message

    "Impossible to migrate dependent packages.

I read online that I install KB937143 (update IE7) could help.

I did this and still got the same message on dependent modules.
I also had another problem occur.
In the section my network places properties connection wireless adapters, whenever I clicked the Add button / PROPERTIES without window appears to allow me to change the settings, however, I was able to remove items from the preferred networks window.

My Automatic Configuration Service wireless is running and took Windows to configure my wireless settings.

I downloaded the updates for my driver Wlan (WiFiHP 500) and I still had the same problems.

I restarted KB918997 using the/log option and read the log file. This is the last important lines:

    33.849: MigrateHotfix: hotfix migration KB937143
    34.129: migrating QFE KB937143 with command line: update.exe z q - B: sp2qfe
    36.783: failed 1603 Update.exe.
    36.793: MigrateHotfixes: KB937143 Migration failed
    36.793: DoInstallation: Migration failed
36.933: failed to migrate dependent packages.
39.597: message displayed to the user: cannot migrate dependent packages.

I then uninstalled the KB937143 package and reinstalled KB918997 update with the newspaper of Pétion and he went along. I also tested the buttons add and PROPERTIES in the window of Favorites and those networks worked too.

I checked the logfile KB918997 and he showed this:
42.311: MigrateHotfix: hotfix migration KB932168 have
    42.511: migrating QFE KB932168 have with the command line: update.exe z q - B: sp2qfe
88.768: MigrateHotfix: Hotfix KB932168 successfully migrated
    88.768: MigrateHotfixes: return code: 3010
    88.928: DoInstallation: Migration succeeded

As a side note, I restarted the laptop frequently just to be sure.

So, really, the option of running with the Ko log file helped me diagnose the problem.

  • C309g-m - unable to connect to the wireless network, touchpad hangs

    Hello.

As PrintDoc has suggested, it's a new thread in the suite here, where I jumped in with a diversion to the station 23.  I'm sorry.

    Here are the details:

    (1) system:

Router is Thomson TG585n provided by ISP O2/Telefonica.  Download high speed ADSL to ~ 9Mbps.

    3 devices connected and stable:

-L' computer running XPSP3, connects to the router via homeplug (Ethernet on electrical wiring).

-Laptop running Vista Home Premium, connects wirelessly with WPA2-AES.

-Mobile phone runs Symbian 60, connect wirelessly in the same way.

Router is configured to operate on channel 11 g wireless and accept new devices automatically with the appropriate security password.

It is a House of 3 floors - router on the top floor has always worked. computer bureau on a middle floor with printer; laptop and the phone can be anywhere.

    So far so good.

Now, I want to add the wireless printer and I'm really bad.

    (2) summary of symptoms:

I bought the C309g-m on Amazon UK in January 2010.  USB connection with assistant easily.  Migrated to wireless via the front panel.  Easy. Then tried to add a 500 GB Freecom Network Drive (NAS device connected to the router) and has failed, because I didn't RTFM.  After removing the FND, I get an error message of HP to the effect that I have "tried to set the printer's IP address" and lost the connection to the printer wireless.  Have not seen this message since then, so I can't reproduce.

As I said, I removed the FND, who never appeared on the network in any way.  However I still can't connect to the printer wirelessly.  The wireless connection wizard crashes after asking to specify a password.  The wireless network Test report that the radio works, but shows FAIL the entrance of 'No filter '.  I looked into the console of the router and there is nowhere to set the MAC address filtering, so I'm stumped.

I tried to 'Add a device' CD, for network via USB settings.  It takes forever (30 minutes?) to come up with the same error "MAC address filtering.

One last thing: if I leave radio turned on (the default lighting) will lock the touchpad after a few minutes to the home screen.  If I disable it, it's fine.  Once locked, the only way to stop is to unplug the power supply.

Finally - all the base printer functions very well.  I can print and scan through the USB port and can take copies.

    Thoughts:

    (a) I think my router settings can be screwed.  I don't see a way to set limits to the DHCP pool, I should be able to.  However, since I was 3 devices that connect to the Internet I am reluctant to do a factory reset in case I lose those!

    (b) there's something wrong with the printer - but I don't know what.

    c) I could try temporarily move the printer to the i) door ii) within reach of hardwirable of CAT5 and wireless range

    (d) the fact that I can connect the printer (wireless) or DNF (cable) makes me suspect the router.  However, I have not received any support from O2: they said it was an internal problem of LAN/WLAN and nothing to do with broadband, therefore, were not willing to help.

I spent hours on this and get nowhere.  Help, please!

    Tim.

BTW - I'm in the United Kingdom.

Well, I think that there are many more problems with 'atypical' routers and HP software as there are with HP printers.  I see not nearly as many problems with certified brand routers WiFi (like Linksys, Netgear and D-Link), as I do with large brands and Belkin.

The worst offenders are rented modems/routers that your ISP provides.  For some reason, they have a lot of industrial property settings and firmware that simply don't play well with HP printers (may be others, but I would never buy another printer HP - I know way to much about printers after their design for 25 years).

A reliable and good solution cheap is to go buy a $40 or $50 Linksys router and replace stuff not expensive you have (or paste according to your router/modem rented).   Time and time again, I've seen problems disappear just after installing a standard router.

You can reserve an IP address for a wired connection, but because parts wired and wireless to the printer have separate MAC addresses, this IP address is not available for the wired connection.

Read the thread if you wish.  Discover the solutions on this website if you want to, but I still think you have a defective printer.

I can see the wireless networks available via the Toshiba Radar but cannot connect to my usual wireless network.

    Check it out.

  • HP Laserjet 200 M276 Color MFP: HP Laserjer 200 color than MFP M276 found on the wireless network

Printer is connected to the wireless network, but cannot be seen by the computers on this network.

Reset printer settings by default, in the wireless network data and verified that it is on the network (wireless diagnostics confirm the network name, config, port and switch Diagnostics).  Still cannot be found on the wireless network.  I know that it is on the network, because it can access internet functions.

Repeated configuration via USB for settings wireless program.  Receive error message indicating the wireless settings have been communicated successfully to the printer, but the printer is not found on the wireless network.

Not cool.  Looks like I have yet another broken HP printer.  I don't know the process.  I called the warranty and they are sending me a refurb printer.

Returned to the HP after 10 years.  Looks like it was a mistake.

  • Satellite Pro U400 (XP pro) cannot connect to the wireless network

I got a U400 straight out of the box. I installed XP pro through the disc of recovery without any problem, except that I am not able to connect to the Wi-Fi here. (Other devices connect very well so the problem is at the end of the laptop) I tried to update via windows update (SP3) via a wired LAN connection but still the same problem. Other posts here have any suggestions for downloading new drivers from realtek. All of the solutions presented do not work for me. Anything else I can try?

I am able to see all the wireless networks that are available in the range and may try to connect (provide the WPA password) but after watching the "preparation to connect" screen for a while he seems to abandon without reporting any error

    Hi guys

First check if you are using the latest version of the BIOS.
Second, clear all options of the router WLan security (filtering by MAC address, Firewall, encryption of WLan, etc.) and try to establish the WiFi connection.

If you're going to succeed the problem is certainly related to the encryption settings
Step by step, activate the settings and set up the router again.

    Good luck
