• The trial of Lightroom question

  Lightroom for iOS has connect to use "member functions" and since I had an Adobe account, I went in expecting it to work.

  Immediately upon signing, and without additional contributions, I received an email from Adobe telling me that my Lightroom trial began, which I wasn't expecting.

  I contacted customer support via live chat to see if the trial could be removed and used for a later date or try to pause for me to use later.

  The representative has not answered the question, but said the obvious things, I already knew, then proceeded to disconnect with me when I still had questions.

• Lightroom questions?

  Hi all, would appreciate any input. My Lightroom seems to be falling apart! Just got in return for a photo shoot big and downloaded some 3000 images from around 6 SD cards. The questions are:

  • Significant time lag in loading library mode.
  • Pictures impossible to render in library mode. (Loading... the wheel of death! Followed by: "There was an error with this picture").
  • Rendering a lot of time developing mode for a number of photos.
  • Failure to develop photos in develop mode
  • Slow to send to photoshop and then a problem with the backup of photoshop. (Extremely slow to save Photoshop).
  • Failure to publish on Flikr - "cannot update this collection... document is empty.

  Set up:

  Photos on external hard drive: LaCie (free 1 TB)

  Mac OSX 10.7.5. (2011 model)

  Lightroom 5 (2014 license version). some 24 000 pictures.

  Photoshop CC 2014. (Both were compatible so far, although I've mainly used Lightroom).

  Action taken:

  • Update software for Mac and Lightroom.

  Check the available disk space on the Macintosh hard drive.

  Check the health of the external and internal drives.

  Use another external drive, a new one formatted for Mac (Mac OS extended (journaled)), and to create a catalogue of test and import X number of images to him.

  Check what else is running on your Mac.

  The rotation color wheel designates one of 2 things.

  (1) the system is busy processing what you asked it to do. For many processes running for the amount of RAM installed and the overall speed of the system.

  (2) the system cannot access the data on the disk quickly enough. Problems with the drive.

  I would start by getting a new external drive and copy all your images to it, as soon as POSSIBLE. Personally, I have no confidence in the LaCie external hard drives.

• 5.7 update of Lightroom questions

  Until the most recent update 05/12/2015 in my standalone LR5, several questions are popping up, that I've ever known from 2014, it's always great to work.   Since the update 12/05/2015 are:

  1. the thumbnails in the library, very small, when you clear miniature, for a normal display, then restart LR5, thumbnails are back.

  2. 'export'-when you set your preferences in the export window, for example (to choose a specific folder, settings files, output sharpening, Watermarking, user Plugins, post-processing, user plugins) and you close to LR5, after exporting finished, on re launch LR5 all these settings have disappeared, he returns to the default value.   Why?

  3. can't seem to get rid of the "ADVICE" at the launch of 5.7 LR, has never seen these popups on advice before.  Even when you select "do not show tips" they always appear on re launch.

  4. what I've never seen before, at each launch of LR 5, you indicate what country you come to a window pop up.  This information is already in my user profile on Adobe, why ask again; How can I get rid of this pop up on launch?

  5. I put my identity plate to a custom; on each start-up, he went and returned to identity plate by default 'LR with my sign in name. ??

  Please follow the steps below to reset the preferences of Lightroom.

  > Quit Lightroom.

  > Navigate to the preferences file:

  • Mac OS: /Users/[user name]/ Library/Preferences /.

  > Rename com.adobe.Lightroom5.plist in old.com.adobe.Lightroom5.plist

  > Reboot the machine

  > Restart Lightroom and look for problems.

  I'm transferring photos to a new computer.  All the files have been transferred other than the Lightroom file.  It is about 15 gigabytes.

  This folder contains your catalog and previews file. It must be on the new computer. After the installation of Lightroom on the new computer simply double-click this catalog and start using Lightroom, as you did before. • Identification of Lightroom question

  Hi hope this is possible? I have a lot of images in Lightroom cc some of these images, I is no longer necessary, some I need to keep and these are green. Those I want to delete have no flag or the color - it would have to be rejected, but I failed to do! Is there some way I can select these images that are not green color that will bring the no colored ones so that I can delete these at once? Images of green colors are reported to keep.

  Hope someone can help and show me a simple way otherwise that go through each image, and rejecting on an individual basis.

  Use the filter bar. Press the backslash to make it appear, if it is not already appearing at the top of the grid of your library. Click on the attribute. Then select the colors that you want (if I understand you, it's all colours but green). You can delete the files that appear because of this filter.

• 5.7 LIGHTROOM question! Panel 'Basic' missing from the Module Development on mac

  I need help! I'm in LIGHTROOM 5.7 and randomly the module 'Base' disappeared under my label to the point, and I'm not able to change the exposure or brightness.   I have a lot of saved Web pages that I had liked to convert to PDF format.  A solution is: get the URLS specified > URL for download in PDF format.  I can add each this way for the first part, but I have so that this one will be a lot of time.

  If I have several tabs open, is it a reasonably simple way to obtain the URL of each tab in the workflow at the same time before you download them in PDF format?

  If you have all of the options selected in the film of the preferences section > tab of the Interface, the likely problem is that your film is too small. Drag it to the top to make a little bigger and badges should appear again.

  I am running Vista and you have acquired recently a nasty virus and a program called care online which starts the search from my computer start up.  My computer would crash whenever I tried to do anything.  I contacted my anti-virus (Trend Micro) company and their suggestion ran their call online from home and he finds and 9 Trojan infected files deleted. Then I also downloaded the removal of their AVFake tool, but it does not find or fix the program guard online. Now, I can't type with this computer and they could not help me further and suggested that I contact Microsoft to correct what they feel is a corrupted registry.  I was given a phone number to call Microsoft, but it was a machine automated, ask questions that were not to my questions.  Can you help me!

  Going to be honest here... You'll probably end up restoring the system to the factory settings (SHAVE - starting-format and install fresh - wipe/destroy all data on it and install the OS itself, followed by updates hardware device drivers and operating system and then the return facility on each of your applications and restore your personal data back on) then you want to check your backups and/or use a bootable external media (maybe Ubuntu LiveCD) to capture what you really want from the system for this.
