I have download the pack of Japanese language from the microsoft Download Center, but it did not work. I tried to add language settings in the Control Panel, but this operation will not end because a dialog box is displayed stating "required files" (c:\Program files\atheros\driver\i386) to a cd rom. I have no CD for windows xp since this computer was purchased with windows xp installed. What should I do?

• Black boxes in some software using Japanese fonts

  Yes, I have contacted the Microsoft's Social support and they told me that I might be able to retrieve a part that helps to find a solution here, I'm sure that's not the right topic to post, but I don't know what it is.

  I have a problem with Berlitz Language Learning Software cannot use the Japanese font installed on Windows 8. I know that the software works for XP and should work on 8 (according to the developers). The only difference in the fonts must be the version, version 5.00 (XP) - 6.12 (8).

  I concluded with what is a problem with the application, but I was told that I COULD (in particular the forces) get help here to find a workaround. Thank you for your time.

  More details:
  The software is in two parts, a Chinese and a Japanese. A Chinese seems to work fine, so that Japanese only shows black boxes, and if I copy the black boxes and the application in my browser, they are perfectly fine.

• Creating an order of the strokes for Japanese fonts

  Hello. I am a novice with Amnesty International, using CS4 on Windows 7.

  I created spreadsheets to show the order of the strokes for Japanese fonts. My goal is to design a spreadsheet that shows the police followed some versions from the same thing that the user can trace on the practice of the police of drawing. The faded version will be the order of the strokes shown around his design, and features should have an arrow indicating the direction.

  I can create a line with an arrowhead without any difficulty (#2 in the image below), but some of the Japanese fonts are complex and I want also to illustration drawn path to be as close in angles and degrees as the original font.

  At least for relatively simple forms, you can:

  (1) create a copy of the character to it before, possibly the lamest original and lock it, continue with the copy;

  (2) type > vectorize and trace release where appropriate;

  (3) cut the path so that you get both parties opposite, outside/inside, or equivalent, with the same number of anchor Points (you can add one or a few, to match to);

  (4) set the mix a little and aligned to the path and create mixed, object > blend > Expand and keep only the center lane.

  (5) using a color of your choice and effect > esthetics > add arrowheads.

  This should give you a path of the Center colored with an arrow on the paler character possible.

• Japanese fonts are cut by pix 2 or 3 on each text box, among other...

  I was really hoping that this issue would be resolved with Captivate 4, but no luck.  I'm working on a Japanese English PC inputing through an IME, and each unique text box has problems.  Or fonts are cut on the top by 2 or 3 pixels, otherwise they swell in somewhere between a normal font and a bold font.  Not a single text box will make what it looks like in Captivate before I saw it.  Everything looks wonderful in Captivate, but no matter how I saw or make, it's just awful.

  Any help is very appreciated!

  First of all, I assume you mean legends of text here?

  Assuming I'm reading correctly, I wonder if you tried to set the margins for the legend type you are using. For example, if you use the type of legend blue Adobe, when we look at where Captivate has been installed

  (for me on my own PC for Captivate 4, I look here):

  D:\Program Adobe Captivate 4\Gallery\Captions)

  You should see the files ending with .fcm.

  For the type of blue legend Adobe, find you five of them:

  

  If you change each and adjust the margin values. Then create a new project and use the legend type Blue Adobe. See if that makes a difference in the appearance of the font. I am not sure, it will be, but it can't hurt to try. Who knows, it may just solve the problem.

• Free app from Merriam Webster found within the Starbucks App

  Hello, the starbucks in messages app, it is supposed to be an application of Merriam Webster's dictionary for free (value of $3,99 otherwise). By starbucks, this free app is available until May 24, 2016. I have nothing in the messages. I deleted the app off my iphone for a few minutes, turned the phone back, re-installed the app, signed on my account of starbucks in the starbucks app and still nothing. I called the service customer starbucks, and they suggested that contact iTunes or the App Store for resolution. Can anyone help to understand why the dictionary app does not appear within the app from the SB?  Thank you.

• Why the font is used in context menus display incorrectly/differently?

  Hello, I improved FX 3.6.23 to 8.0.1 and found the rendering of fonts in menus to be 'bad' or at least different/changed in 8.0.1 - it's like a bold, but also a little pixelated... font and pretty ugly.

  UPDATED Nov 28 - I noticed also just two favicon graphics AND fonts are not rendered correctly (or as they have in previous versions of Fx) when I press and hold the buttons down front and rear.

  12.0 seems to have this problem resolved, all the fonts and the favicons visit as planned.

  (Possible interest for advanced users: I started in the 32-bit core of the Lion for testing purposes, launched Fx 12.0 and found the police and the favicons render properly as described in my original post.)

  I had this problem several times in the past - it seems that sometimes there are different versions of the same font that circulate Adobe applications (and I guess that other applications) does not detect that the same font.  Look in your list of installed within the AE fonts and see if it appears.  If this is the case, is not pretty, but I found it easier to go through all the layers looking for this font and change them manually to the one you have installed.  You can use dependencies > find the fonts feature to locate quickly missing.  Make sure that the results actually look the same by making a difference for a rendered existing if possible. So be sure to keep a copy of this font file accurate as well as the Archives of the project if you do not have to face again in the future.  The other option is to find some machine or the person had been working on the modified project and see if you can retrieve the version of the police of their machine and transfer it to the one you are working on.

  I have photoshop elements 9 and wonder how to install a new font.  I installed a new font in my Windows system, but elements do not pick it up.

  I downloaded and installed the fonts you mention. I was able to find it in the list of fonts within Photoshop Elements, however, it does not appear in the list in alphabetical order. This is the way down at the bottom together with some Japanese fonts. This has something to do with the way in which the police is coded.

  I ran the upgrade recommended this morning at El Capitan 10.11.6 on my end 2011 MacBook Pro. A certain font was not available when I opened an Illustrator document, so I opened the font book to see why and found that hundreds of fonts, I entered the book of policies over the past year or more are missing. I know that real fonts are still in my police records, but a number of hours of work participated in their addition to the font book and organize them into folders. Is all the work is lost, where can I access the preferences that contain this information somehow? What a brake if not. Font book does not yet have all folders that I put in place, they are just empty and only the core system fonts are loaded.

  Unless I can access the old prefs I guess I also install all my software again, to make sure that necessary fonts are loaded?

  Use your backup Time machine restore.

  Your book plist police is located on via Finder > go > go to folder, copy and paste:

  ~/Library/preferences/com. Apple.FontBook.plist

  I wonder why Microsoft is trying to make me download a 'Important' update (KB975929, 9.7 MB update), which is the Japanese fonts. I would never use it.  How can I cancel my list of updates waiting to be downloaded?  Thanks for any information.

  1. stop the automatic updates service:

  Start > Right click on run , and then select run as administrator > services.msc (type) > [OK]
  Double-click automatic updates > click stop
  (Stopping the service will take a moment)

  2 remove the contents of the download folder:

  Start > Right click on run , and then select run as administrator >
  (type or copy/paste) %windir%\SoftwareDistribution > [OK]
  Open the download folder and delete its content
  Close the window.

  3 start | Control Panel | System maintenance and (if you use Classic view, skip this step). Windows Update |  View the updates available (or Select the updates installed): click right on the Update for Windows Vista (975929) | Click hide update | Confirm the prompt UAC (User Account Control), if any, & OK your way out.

  4. start the automatic updates service:
