AutoStart application

Hi all

I'm trying to develop an application for the blackberry storm, which should start automatically at startup of the unit.

After you set the correct properties in the eclipse plugin (selecting Auto-run on startup and system module and creating another project for another point of entry and there by selecting "alternative cldc application entry point" and setting an argument for the main method) everything works well in the Simulator (the application start automatically). Strangely, on a real device (blackberry storm) the application does not start. Or manually using the off button or remove the battery (and start the machine again) got the application to start.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

You can use the above method 'inStartup()' in a loop.

 ApplicationManager app = ApplicationManager.getApplicationManager();
 boolean keepGoing = true;
 while (keepGoing) {
   if (app.inStartup()) {
      Thread.sleep(1000);
   }
   else {
      keepGoing = false;
   }
 }
 pushScreen(screen);

    Hello
    I got the same error. Check Agent port 1423 and 32768 ubnoccupied by other processes.
    Replace the s file with the .postUPM one.
    This will start with the sample essbase applications only. If this does not work, one of your applications is may be corrupted.

    If you got your autostart applications and one is broken, it will crash the essbase server during startup and can damage the secfile so.

  • How can I determine which applications and processes are turned on at first upward and how can I keep their autostart?

    My office of gateway using Windows XP takes a long time to start.  I hear a lot of activity because it starts and after a very long time, I can really use it.  I would like to know what process or applications start automatically and then determine which ones to move away and how.

    If you were to Google something like:

    XP boot manager

    You will get hits with links to managers of free starter like this simple:

    http://www.MLIN.NET/StartupCPL.shtml

    Another popular and free tool with a built-in startup manager (and other interesting things) are CCleaner which you can download here:
    http://www.Piriform.com/CCleaner

    CCleaner allows you to manage most of the startup items and also do some other operations oriented cleaning.  Some people will you recommend is not to use the registry functions in CCleaner to avoid these features for now.  I have no problem with it for me, but sometimes it's a contentious issue, I prefer to avoid as much as possible!

    You can uninstall CCleaner later if you don't like it.

    You can disable the startup items, see how things look and if you want - you just delete them (or leave it off).

    After launch of CCleaner and see what startup items you can disable/remove, if you are still not sure of your startup items, follow these steps:

    Run CCleaner and choose Tools, boot and bottom right, click on the button "Save to text file" to save the startup information in a text - something like startup.txt file

    Save the boot information text file on your desktop (or somewhere you can find it) open the text file with an editor (Notepad or WordPad), select all (Ctrl-A), copy text, all the text selected in the Windows Clipboard (Ctrl-C) and then paste (Ctrl + V) the contents of the startup list to come back here in your next reply and maybe someone can tell you another thing to consider.

    A more revealing startup Analyzer is Autoruns which will allow the manipulation of all sectors of boot and does not actually install anything:
    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx

    I have zero startup items on my computer, so none of this is important to me!

  • Run a LV-application on the remote computer

    Hi all

    I am trying to install an App LabVIEW functioning as a server in our local network. I might add this as a service in the respective machine autostart. However, I prefer to have a method to start the respective application of a different LV (vi or exe) go elsewhere in the local area network. This means that potential customers can start the server if it is not yet done.

    Does anyone have an idea? Searched for examples and the internet for no results.

    This question comes up a lot.  And I always recommend PsTools from SysInternals:

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/Sysinternals/bb896649.aspx

    They are a free set of command line utilities.  One of the utilities is PsExec which can be used to launch the exe on remote computers.

    NOTE: Remember that setting up your remote application as an "NT Service" is a little more complex.  If you manage to actually implement a 'service', you would actually use a different tool (PsService) to start a service on a remote computer.  Either one will do the job.

  • Problems withdraw the application for RuntimeStore

    I have an application that listens to gps, e-mail and sms events. Because I need this application to run at startup of the bb, I used the method mentioned in many articles in kb by placing my application in the Bank to run at startup so that when my gui starts the user interface checks the runtime of the application store and proceeds accordingly. It all works perfectly. My problem comes when I need to stop the background of the GUI thread. I call shutdown in which the application stops all threads, that it is running and then I call a system.exit (0). All threads stop perfectly and closes my gui. However when I return to run the GUI with to restart the phone the waitForSingleton recover again the same background as application before having no threads running in it, and so nothing happens in the GUI (map changes). I also tried to remove the substantive application of the RuntimeStrore through .abolish. When I do cela background threads perfectly but the user interface may not start because an Exception is thrown stating that

    When stop you your application, you also have to remove all listeners?  If one of them has a reference, your application will be not eligible for garbage collection and it will remain.

    I understand that this approach (to put the application in RuntimeStore) is actually used in some articles in the KB, but I wouldn't recommend it.

    Instead, I would say put you a small 'data only' RuntimeStore object, call this myRuntimeStore object.  I - this so that you can set a reference to your UiApplication in this document, for example. Have a myRuntimeStore.setMyApp (.) method.  Now your audience can get your app if they want, using myRuntimeStore.getMyApp ().  More importantly, you can erase it and make sure that your application will.  You may encode your listeners to do nothing if your application is not present.

    However, I would like to recommend more than you do not actually store references to your application.  If you need something to initiate treatment in your application process, use a global event.  This beautifully isolates your application of your listeners.

    Hello

    When the device is started I want to autostart My App.

    1. In what setting on the device, I can set the automatic start-up of applications?
    2. How do I program the app that it is started automatically?

    Kind regards

  • Enry Point on Storm application error

    I spent some time getting my application to work correctly with multiple entry points.  After the articles, I have now a main GUI application and also an autostart module which, among other things, updates the main icon.  I use the technique of the call launch() with some settings special (like "updateIcon") to get the correct behavior. Things work well.

    So I'm now doing a lot of testing in-depth on different platforms and a mysterious error arises.  When the storm running Simulator and the installation of the app the OTA (not just the race to Eclipse) method, I get an error when the installation is complete: "untrapped Exception. Module with handle [6952] and [0] index has no application entry point '. '.  After a reboot, everything works fine, I do not see the error, and the icon is updated in the background, OK.

    It's the offending section:

    UiApplication.getUiApplication () .invokeAndWait (new Runnable() {}
    public void run()

    If I comment the line below, I don't see the error at all.

    HomeScreen.updateIcon(bitmap,0);
    }
    });

    I am currently taking the low road and just trapping the IllegalArgumentException around updateIcon appeal, but I do not like this solution.

    Why this ugly error does not only appear during installation?

    Thank you

    Jim

    I might have found a solution!

    An idea that I had was that the other point of entry that runs at startup (and apparently starts right after installation) could start before the main entry point (0) is installed/related in / ready to go/etc.  I tested it by putting Thread.sleep (1000) as the first thing that the other point of entry, and it seems to work!  I don't know the details under the hood on how these modules get installed or started, but the notion of a race condition critical could explain both what I'm seeing and why its not appear in other platforms and/or any from methods (eg. no problems during the eclipse everything starts up).

    I will test some more and it keep it open for a comments for a few days before marking as resolved.

    Thank you

    Jim

  • Background application that listens on the keyboard.

    I am trying to create a targeting of enforcement 5.0 devices, allowing the backlight when a sequence of characters are typed on anywhere, but the keyboard.

    Any gueses how to implement a listener in a request like that?

    Thanks in advance.

    Accelerator that is happening, but you have to shake hard!. Otherwise I would need my application to be notified (it works on autostart, so it is already running) when the hot (convenience) is pressed.

    I think back to use another (secondary) application that signals the main application (backlight) (and secondary application starts on the shortcut key, informed and closed), fire is lit in an event. And then you press this key, the main application is notified to the turn off, and the closure of the secondary application.

    There could be a direct way to do it. I mean: I need this secondary application?
