  I have a hp 6700 premium all-in-one printer. I have an iMac OSX 10.9 running. (although I don't think it matters, does?). I'm trying to print an address label with the standard of 3 rows of columns x 10 Avery label paper but I want to CLARIFY that column and row to print to (so I can reuse the labels not printed on the page and run the page through the printer again and again until they are used to the top). Years with another printer and the computer I could do but I can't understand how doing it now with the software and the hardware.   Fine print test sheets, until I print the actual labels and then things start to become wobbly further on the sheet.

  When I had contacted Avery support, since the test sheets on paper ordinary fine print, they believe that the misalignment is maybe because of the way the printer grabs the paper, so they recommend that I select 'label' for the type of printer paper, but I can't find this option anywhere in my printer dialog box. I see the photo, brochure, transparency, etc. No option of "label".

  I don't have something like label on my printer and I use labels Avery of different kinds from time to time.

  I use the matte setting of the Brochure; It worked for me on a couple different printers.

  The point is to tell the printer that the paper is thicker than normal media so that the rollers will adjust and the mechanism that grabs the paper will seize a document that is the least bit thicker than a sheet of plain paper.  Indicating that the media are Matt to the printer indicates to the printer on time of drying and application of ink.

  I use indesign for a mailing of basis for my Christmas card labels. Each year, it worked perfectly...

  This year, for some reason any, when making a data merge (and asking an overview with multiple records) in an blank document , it works fine.

  I tried and then export the model as image and placed just behind and even on its own layer... In the hope to use only the model as a visual guide... but the preview does not work either.

  When you perform multiple records per page preview is bug. Either don't use the preview, or cancel immediately after, then perform the merge.

  The avery software to choose the type of paper. So I opened the file in the preview, and then saved as a PDF file.

  Once it is opened in Acrobat, I could select Brochure Matt for the type of paper, that solved the problem.
