B010ea Pavilion 23 all-in-in-one: the HARD disk specifications.

I want to buy a drive enclosure external HARD drive on my pc trying to access files now pc does not. Can someone tell me if the drive is 2.5 or 3.5. I don't want to remove it until I have the enclosure.

It's a SATA 3.5 hard drive ". You can replace it with a SSD if you want to increase performance.

You will still be able to use the recovery media if the SSD has at least 160 GB of storage capacity

Instructions for removal and replacement are at the following link.

Rather stupidly tried to update the BIOS on my pc after repeated failed installations of windows 10. It resulted in my powers pc and completely messy things now to the top but nothing else. I did this a while ago and have now replaced this pc with a similar model with windows installed 10. My request is that I would like to see if I can save all my files on the old pc by removing the HARD drive. I read that you can use enclosures of external drives, and with nothing to lose, I'd like to try but do not know what kind of thing do I need to buy. I don't want to spend a lot of money in case it is not good. As guessed you, I'm no computer expert but I would try this. All advice appreciated.

Without knowing exactly what HARD drive you have, here is an envelope similar to what you will need.  Read the reviews to see what users have to say about it.  I don't know anything about the brand, so if find you one that you like best you should buy it.

  • Pavilion G4 1303AU: impossible to format the hard disk in any case

I had 8 current enforcement windows on my system, then I thought to install linux (distribution mageia) on it. Before I formatted the entire system and created primary and extended partitions as well as some allocated space was left for linux.

Then I installed windows 8 on a primary partition C. I installed linux on the unallocated space, and follow the steps in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLu1NwsZr48

I don't understand what was going on well.

After I don't have grub GUI screen 2 so I rebooted the system and windows 8 started normally and automatically.

Now, I decide to remove the linux partitions cz they did not appear on the home screen (for the dual boot option)

I went to dskmgmt.msc and tried to delete the partition containing linux. The removal process has continued and eventually hanged. So I rebooted my pc and boom, the pc will not boot into windows 8.

It shows crashes and win8 logo... I tried to format it, there also, it shows the start with logo screen and crashes in windows 7, it loads the files, comes up to the part where the logo builds up and crashes, tried mageia live cd also, there also it hangs on the splash screen.

I tried default BIOS, I tried to format it using usb, everything.

The hard drive gets detected as "laptop hard drive" in the bios... so I don't think that it must be a hardware problem.

I hope there is a solution, because the laptop repair shops say that he died. I did not trust them because how can a partition physically damaged hard drive!

Please respond quickly with a solution...

    I should be grateful!

You can refuse to accept it, but if Diskpart--> List volume or drive list does not see the drive when the data and power connectors are active, then the disk controller has not.  The hard drive is the material of the trash. Replace it with another new hard drive.

An electromagnet not wip data from the hard drive. The hard drive uses magnets neodymium as p [art of its design.

  • Need help recovering from a blue screen. I re from the installation discs on hand and not intend to save all data currently on the hard disk.

A number of months ago one of our computer got a virus and has gradually become unusable. He started as a kind of spyware, that obviously was not what it seemed. Now, we are to receive a blue screen every time we try to start the computer if I try in safe mode it brings me to the "Administrator" or "name of the wife." When I click on one of these he says it saves the parameters and then returns the same screen. I received what I believe to be the re installation of Dell discs, but now I don't know how to access. Thanks advance!

If you have a Dell recovery disk, put it in the optical drive and restart the computer. As the computer starts, press the F12 key and choose to boot from the optical drive. The restore disc will start and that you follow the instructions.

If you have a true Dell disk operating system, follow the steps above to boot from the disc of the operating system. Here are the links explaining how to do a fresh install of XP. Once your operating system is installed, you will then need to install the drivers for all your hardware. If you have received a genuine Dell OS disk you have too a disc called "Dell Resource CD". This CD has all of the drivers. Put in the drive, install the application, and then install the drivers that are found.

Don't forget to update XP Service Pack 3 and make all Windows updates. Update of the common as programs Adobe Reader, Java, Flash, etc. for the latest versions. Install a good antivirus like NOD32 (commercial), Avast or Avira (free versions available).

  • access all information on the hard disk for all users.

I tried to set up a link today from my new laptop computer Windows 7 my most top of desktop running vista.  The liaison program stated that the administrator on my old computer was only a temporary user.  I tried to set up the account as a permanent user without realizing that it would replace the current account.  I have now no access to programs from hard drive of the main user I was using.  I was wondering if there is anything I can do to access the hard disk with this user and import files?  I forgot almost all programs appear on the computer but open to anything.

    Hi kismet.

    1. What do you mean by link program?

    2. What have you tried to do?

    3. how many accounts do you currently on the computer and what are they?

    4. what happens when you try to access the files on the hard drive?

It seems that you do not have permissions to access the files on the hard drive.

I suggest that take you the files and folder try to access.

To take ownership of a folder

    (a) right click on the folder you want to take control and then click Properties.

    (b) click on the Security tab, click Advanced, and then click the owner tab.

    (c) click on Edit. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    (d) click on the name of the person you want to give to the property.

    (e) If you want that person to be the owner of the files and subfolders in this folder, select the check box Replace owner subcontainers and objects .

    (f) click OK.

  • Satallite 4100XCDT: where can I find the HARD disk?

    Hello

I bought a Toshiba Satallite 4100XCDT Notebook in ebay. Now, I have to change my drive HARD, but where can I find the HARD disk?
Please, I need the laptop in 2 days.

I downloaded the manual, but I Didna´t there find hdd.

    Thanks for help

    see you soon,
    Dominik

    Hello

The HARD drive should be placed on the left side of the laptop.
I think that it of one near the port of slot and PCMCIA modem.
At the bottom of the unit, you should find a screw holding the cover of the HARD drive.
Remove the two black screws and lift the cover of the HARD drive location.
Remove the two black screws, secure the HARD drive into the HARD drive slot.
Grasp the HARD-drive carrier handle and pull forward to disconnect and remove the
    HARD DRIVE.
Remove the four screws flat head of the HARD-drive bracket and lift the HARD drive.

    That s all ;)

  • bad sectors on the hard disk, can't find programs or files

Has worked on my Toshiba laptop and all of a sudden I got these error messages from Windows on bad sectors, cannot find the files...

Well, I am unable to find programs or files... well explore works and it seem like windows must work because the computer starts.  I have

did a scan of spybots and of course we found a few things but that's all.

I had to start a new user account in order to have access to my hard drive and be able to do some repairs... He showed sound quite complete but unable to show all files or these.

Tried a restore back a week, but it did not work.  A check on the hard disk and say he can do so that the system is in use.  I have nothing running!

Don't know what to do next... any suggestions

Thank you for posting a copy of a report of chkdsk on your C partition select Start, run, type "cmd" without the quotes in the box and press ENTER. Type chkdsk, and then press the ENTER key and a report, stating, among other things, a summary of how disk space is used, is provided. If you want a report on a partition or one drive other than C, you need to go to this partition. To access F, where F is the required partition you type F: and press the ENTER key.

Copies of the reports from a command prompt can be tricky. Right click and select mark. This allows to highlight the selected text, and then click on copy. You will then open Word, Notepad or similar file, right click and paste. The selected text transfers your Clipboard to open the file. You can paste directly into a response message to the majority of the forums.

  • When installing a new operating system isn't automatically wipe the hard disk, create a new partition, and then install the operating system?

Have a Dell system, caught a virus and it has really messed up the PC. Recently, it got worse so I tried to reinstall the operating system with the Dell disks. It wouldn't work. So I bought for Windows 7 Professional, it will not be installed. My first question when installing a new operating system isn't automatically wipe the hard disk, create a new partition, and then install the operating system? Because this does the same as the Dell disks, is to take what is on the hard drive and put it in a folder called windows old, is not formatting the HD. When I boot the disk, it shows the installation of files then open windows and start the installation. Before he could finish I get an error missing or corrupted files. Tried several times now, windows will still not open. Any suggestions? Once while trying to install the pc crashed with a blue screen which is one of the reasons why I have reinstall the OS, he started to plant a few times. I don't remember all the details on my PC, but its 4 years, triple core coprocessors, ram 8 GB, 500 GB HD. At the same time just after all this started in Jan. I had also improved my 3 GB to 8 GB memory. I bought the Dell memory for my system. Since the crash, could there be a problem with these new memory chips? Last night I tried to disassemble each and reinstalling it, but that doesn't seem to make a difference. Before I tried to reinstall the operating system, the pc was see the concert 8.

Disconnect any other (additional) internal hard drives and external USB devices.
Look for any loose hard drive power or cables SATA, graphics card or other power cables.

    First run Memtest86 +:
It runs from a floppy disk or CD and should eliminate or confirm if one or more of your memory
sticks are bad or the values of the SPD in the BIOS are correct.
Let it run for as long as you can: 2,4,6,8 or several hours (at least 3 full passes), so no errors at that time then your ram is OK.

  • Inspiron N5050 shows the capacity of the hard disk bad

I put a new 1 TB HDD in my Inspiron N5050 to replace the 500 GB one. I moved all my content on the new hard drive using the disk image and repair system I did of the old hard drive. Now when I go to "computer" it always shows the hard disk of 500 GB (actually 468) not the 1 TB hard drive. How to make the computer recognize the appropriate hard drive capacity? Sorry if I posted in the wrong place, I didn't know where to put this post because he could be in several places.

I found the answer to my question on YouTube (of all places). I have now 1 operation section entirely on my hard drive (no unallocated space). I should have done a little more research before posting here, but thank you Dell community with his presence. PROBLEM SOLVED!

  • Remove stranded files from the hard disk to the VM package

I have a virtual merger machine that is now 96 GB in size (database development) and it contains several virtual hard drives.  Now, I have cleared one of the drives on and outsourced (he placed on an external Firewire based drive).  Removing the abandoned drive does not reduce the size of the virtual machine.  Research in the VM package, I see that the hard disk file (vmdk) is always inside the package and using 54 GB.

The question is so I can delete these files from the VM package or it will damage the VM?  I tried to make a backup of the VM, but right at the end that it maintains the production of an error so I would like to know if anyone has experience with this before making the jump.

Removing a virtual drive simply deletes the references, it does not delete the virtual disk. If you do not have a snapshot (for example), it is safe to delete. Make sure get you the right one, well - I recommend you all first move somewhere else and then try to start the virtual machine. If it is used at the moment (but maybe not if it is only used by a snapshot), merge will complain.

  • Why the HARD disk is partitioned into C & D on Satellite Pro C partition

Why the HARD drive is divided and how to use it?

It is important that the one that I use?
It turns into one big disk?

The manual says nothing about this.

    Thanks for any help

    Ken

    Hello

The HARD disk is partitioned and contains two partitions. The C partition is the system partition that contains the Windows operating system. The second D partition contains data drive HARD recovery.
HARD drive recovery allows you to establish the notebook back to factory settings without the recovery disk usage.

But it s is strongly recommended to create the recovery disk! The user manual provides the info on that in case something goes wrong with the HARD drive, the recovery disk allows you to recover the laptop.

Of course, you can delete the D partition if you want to, but before doing so, you must create the recovery disk.

However, my HARD drive contains 3 partitions. I created an extra. In my case, the C partition contains only system and the unique software. My files private like Mp3, movies, etc. are placed on the D second partition).
The third partition (E) contains a folder with games.

  • Satellite L450 - how do you start the recovery from the HARD disk?

    Hello world

I just joined the forum and already I need help.

I have 2 questions (10) I'm an ODP, and I volunteer for a local blind group who all have laptops and rewrite the textbooks in braille users. Now a desire to know how start recovery from the HARD disk drive and what you should do disks for this.

and (2) another received a laptop computer Toshiba A 100 and it does not start as soon as the Toshiba screen appears it lacks a password, we tried all kinds of passwords, tails of start and a new record of program but it does not start. Can anyone help please.

    Ken

For instructions how to recover a Toshiba laptop with verification of HARD drive recovery procedure please this document > http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm

The Satellite A100, I presume that you need BIOS password. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about it. Accredited maintainer Toshiba can remove the password for you.

  • Impossible to 'System' to defrag Portion of the hard disk on Windows 7 Pro or Windows 8 Pro dvt7-3000

I have a laptop HP Pavilion dvt7-3000 CTO that has a single disk drive hard 500 GB.  The operating system has been improved in Windows7 Pro (64-bit) to Windows 8 Pro (64-bit), but the problem occurs in both operating systems.  When conducting the defragmentation of the different hard disks (C:\ D:\, HP tools and system), the percent of the "System" drive which is fragmented never changes, while the % fragmented adequately for other readers going to 0%.  Over time, the system part of the hard disk rose to 27% fragmented.  How to defragment this drive?

    Hello

The system partition contains the boot files and recovery for Windows 7 environment and should not be défragmentée.  It will always appear to be fragmented and it is quite normal - force this partition defragment would almost certainly avoid the Windows startup.  In addition, the fragmentation in this small partition has absolutely no effect on performance.

For much the same reasons, the recovery partitions or HP_TOOLS must be défragmentées.

    Kind regards

  • Equium U400-145 - where is the HARD disk protection tool?

I just bought an Equium U400-145, and in the manual it says there is a Protection of the hard disk utility and properties are accessible from the icon on the toolbar or via the start menu in Toshiba - Utilities.

There is no icon in the toolbar and without Protection of HARD drive in the start menu. Protection disc HARD drivers are on the C: drive, but when I try to install I get a message HDD Protection is not supported on this model. It's strange because the download from Toshiba site lists the Protection drivers from the HARD drive for this model.

Any who have HARD drive Protection works on this model or know if it should work?

I have a U400 to and protection of the HARD drive is not available on all models of laptops U400.
The user manual has been created for all the U400 laptop models and it of possible that your U400 doesn t support this feature!
