  • Size of the PDF forms are higher than expected

Hi, I seem to have a problem with the file size of my PDF Forms.

I have created on Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES2 9.0.0.2.20120627 xfa forms and they are all at least 1 big MB which is large enough for an xfa form.

When I initially create an xfa form, it is around 11-12 Kb, when I add a few items in the shape that it is not too large, 30-90 Kb around, but when I have almost completed my forms it always ends with 1 MB of data.

I thought that maybe it's because I'm pasting some already created objects from another on a new, but this is not the case.

Before that, I checked the XML source to see if there is anything suspicious about the forms and I created if I could find something the size of my PDF files.

I have seen my biggest form who have 15 k lines of XML coding and 1,386 Mb and another with only 5 k lines of XML coding and 1,303 Mb.

So here, the ratio is 10 k XML encoding is equal to 83 KB. A blank form is about 136 coding XML and is equal to 10 KB.

When I see other forms that I didn't create, other sources, they are around 300-600 Kb...

Now I wonder what could be the reason why my forms are so much bigger.

Would it because I'm not on the side Server encoding?

Is it because of my Script objects?

Or because I'm missing something on xfa forms?

Or, maybe because I don't use Action Builder?

Or that's what I think, I use different functions, more it grows, perhaps as a result of using these functions, objects of reference?

If anyone knows what is the main reason for a PDF size XFA form, I would like to know.

    Thank you

    Hello

the reasons for the large files are generally images and embedded fonts.

In forms with the default fonts like Arial or Myriad Pro, it is unwise to incorporate fonts in Reader/Acrobat already has the fonts and do not need to be incorporated.

Only Arial needs about 450 KB in a form.

If you use images don't embed them, because it means that they get stored as a string encoded in base64 in the XML source instead of a stream encoded flate in the PDF.

Base64 is very clumsy and needs more space.

  • New files created when to split a PDF file using the Adobe SDK are much higher than expected

Hello. I use the kit Adobe SDK to split large PDF into a set of small PDF files, using a set of page ranges. I created 2 PDDocs.  One is for the original PDF, which I open it.  In the other, I insert a range of pages of the original.  I'm doing this for each set of pages.

    objPDDocNew.InsertPages (-1, objPDDoc, startPage - 1, lngPageCount, 0)

It works fine, except that the combined size of the smaller PDF files is 10 or more times the size of the original PDF file! Y at - it an explanation for that? Y at - it a setting that I can put to reduce the size of the output files? I run my program of my Windows 7 desktop that has Adobe Acrobat XI. Thanks for any help you can provide.

You can get an idea on what elements are the use of how much space in the PDF file by opening the various Acrobat Pro files, and then select file > save as other > optimized PDF - then click on the "Use of space Audit" button in the upper right corner of the dialog box that opens. When you compare the use of the space of your source files with the file target that you can discover what is causing the increase in the size.

  • When I export to PDF from InDesign, my page size is higher than expected.

I have an InDesign document with a page size of 8.5 "x 11".  There bleeding from. 125 "on each side.  When I export to PDF and look at the properties of the document, the page size is 9.33 "x 11.83".  I thought it would be 8.75 "x 11.25".  Why the page size par.83 instead de.25?

Hmmm... can't reproduce here. Of course, including any kind of landmarks of the printer in the output increases the size of larger than the pad page + bleed, but as long as I have let everything under "Brand" unchecked by default and tick the check box use Document bleed settings under bleed and Slug, I get the 8.75 x 11.25 expected.

  • Real Internet performance? -Internet speeds are slower than expected when streaming videos or loading pages

With my "N" external WIFI adapter connected, signal quality indication is that v. Results of most Web sites.  Please explain why these disparities in quality and speed, and why loading movies from 70-90-minutes oldie (black & white) on You Tube or Retrovision.TV, etc., can take up to 20 minutes.  Everything what should I download from the Internet in order to speed up the load time?

Here is more information: laptop is about 18 months - used about 500 hours - Windows (the other laptop with Windows 7 which is used about 20 hours is no different) with the same featuresVISTA, Acer Intel Pentium Processor and SU2700 1.3 GHz, 800 MHz FSB, Intel GMA 4500MHD up to 1244 MB, 3 GB DDR3, 320 HARD drive (more than space is FREE).
    Thank you very much.

    Hello
54 Mbps is not internet download speed. It is the rate of transfer between computers that are connected to your network. 54 Mbps is the maximum speed at which you can copy files from one computer (connected to your wireless network) to another (which is connected to your network wireless or wired). Obviously, wired connections can go faster (100 Mbit/s is the speed of the standard cable). The speed at which you can download files from the internet is determined by the bandwidth that your internet provider gives you.  But the fact is, you can't download anything beyond 5 Mbit/s unless you download from a computer that is on your network.
  • Why SYS. DBMS_PARALLEL_EXECUTE. CREATE_CHUNKS_BY_ROWID creates sometimes higher than expected pieces?

    I am running

    Oracle Database 11 g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.3.0 - 64 bit Production

    PL/SQL Release 11.2.0.3.0 - Production

    "CORE 11.2.0.3.0 Production."

AMT for Linux: Version 11.2.0.3.0 - Production

    NLSRTL Version 11.2.0.3.0 - Production

I build and maintain a data warehouse and often use DBMS_PARALLEL_EXECUTE for the loading of large amounts of data. I noticed that sometimes, especially when the size of my lot is large compared to the total number of rows in the segmented table, CREATE_CHUNKS_BY_ROWID creates a lot more than pieces that I would have expected, which most contain no data. For example, in a recent essay, I had 33K lines in the segmented table, and I specify a batch size of 10K. I expect about 4 pieces. I had 1002. All works fine, I'm just curious about these many (occasional) empty pieces. I always run a GATHER_STATS on the segmented table before DBMS_PARALLEL_EXECUTE.

    I stumbled across this myself.

    Simplified: the ROWID is discontinuous.

Why?:  Lines (re) move, space is created. (especially when you add LOB data<4000 bytes="" so="" that="" it="" is="" stored="">

If you do a join / select on the pieces, you will probably see most of them have count (*) 0

    (something like that...)

    Select C.chunk_id, count (*)

    of user_parallel_execute_chunks C

    une_table T

    where T.rowid between C.start_rowid and C.end_rowid

    C.chunk_id group;

I would only use CHUNK_BY_ROWID on the tables where I can assume that the data move and/or produce gaps during normal activity.

    (for example warehouse tables)

    TAKE 2:

I also ran into this problem where the KP has been very rare (and would produce the same kind of problem).

This would produce similar results when using CHUNK_BY_NUMBER_COLUMN().

To overcome that, I used an intermediate table and stored in bulk on the table.

(not for you to edit the SQL code used for PE)

    for example

    create the table intermediate_table

    as

    Select rownum, T_ID, T.some_pk

    of une_table T.

And unfortunetly that none of the solutions offered to correct the problem.

Apparetly there is a tag added to quicktimes then export as mov of sequelae affecting the gamma value.

I did the 9.0 update after effects

I tried to check format inherited the project usage and

I tried to use a consistent of sRGb color managament as I mainly use for my 3D animations makes.

Is there a more recent solution to this problem?

How to resize the print size of an item within my PDF to multiple pages? For example a receipt or another image that can scan in bigger or smaller than my 8.5 x 11 Bill?

    Hello

In the print dialog box, you would get options to resize your document.

Try them and see if that helps.

Once you choose the print option, it would give options to change the size of the page you need.

Please check and see if it suits you or not.

  • M1212nf Scans come out huge when issued

    Hi all

I read some posts here regarding the scans coming out in great, but none applies to the m1212nf that seems. The only option for scanning you get is "Scan." I went through all the settings, including the definition of the DPI, color mode, and the scan size. No matter what I change, when the PDF file is emitted, it comes out to about 34.44 x 45,10 inches when scanning a normal letter size paper. No matter if it's the scan to email or scan to file, this is the same result. Even using the preview TWAIN dialog box, it shows that it scans the right size ~ 8.5 x 11, but when issued in PDF format, shows like 34.44 x 45,10. I have two of them in our office, a network and a local USB. It happens on both of them on different computers, so it is not an isolated incident. If someone can you please give me any indication on how to fix this it would be appreciated.

I had the same problem of pdf page size. They seem to have finally fixed in the new software download.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600, Windows XP, very slow to print scanned pdf

All other prints exception scanned to PDF print normal PCDFS, even imported e-mail, etc., all other types of files.

Problem occurred after problems with XP, computer tech could rectify not so copied all files and reinstalled XP, no problem with XP, but the printing problem now with my own scanned pdf.  Thanks for any help.  JLS1946

Thank you to all who responded.  I have to admit it's a tough trying to decide it's the printer, it's Adobe, is the USB connection / wireless?  Now, that's what I managed to rule out now (thanks for all the help that JLS1946 did) it's not the connection.  I went until take that to someone who is very familiar with the Adobe and they suggested uninstall/re-installing Adobe. He said you should not lose your saved work and which corrected this before.  However, not all of you use the same software or the print version. PDF files, it seems.

Knowing what I know about the way in which the information is transferred to the printer, it is meaningless for me how only a few .pdfs are slower than others.  Check the contents in the file you are trying to print and compress, when you can.   I know that the web content may take longer to process during a print job and now I have to wonder if that has no place in the commonality among all of those here.

I think the last document I ran through should have some good suggestions. Let me know if it works. One of the reasons I don't think specifically that it is the Officejet 8600 is especially because it happens to other printers like this.  The only thing you have in common is Adobe. While searching for other PDF readers, I have noticed Adobe had so many stars (3.5 stars) like Foxit Reader (4 stars) did.  I'm not the right person to defend as to who can be a better software to use however.  I know I like CNET for their reviews and videos.

  • Host memory consumption is higher than the comments its use (incl. Cached) and overhead?

I'm under ESXi 5.1. I don't have any custom reserve configured for memory. I'm running in CVS 'Sandy Bridge' mode.

I noticed earlier than expected host memory consumed on many of my guests. This example comments running Server R2 2012 with the latest version of VMware tools running.

    VMware reports

    VM-Resource-Memory.PNG

    The guest operating system reports

    VM-GuestOS-Memory.PNG

My understanding is that the "Standby" and "Modified" on the client contains the ' cache ', and the 'Cached' memory prompt is the typical response to this question that I see when people seek only to the memory of 'In Use'. In my case, I'm factoring in the memory cache, my guest shows 3805 MB of real memory, yet my host shows 7.68 GB of memory consumed host, with only 68 MB of general consumption. According to my calculations, the virtual machine should be only consume about 4.28 GB of memory.

I think I found my answer in the guide 'Understanding memory resources management' here: http://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/mem_mgmt_perf_vsphere5.pdf

Section "when to retrieve memory host" page 15:

«In the high State, the use of global memory machine virtual comments is smaller than the size of the host memory.» Whether or not the host memory is overcommitted, the hypervisor will not recover memory via hot-air balloon or permutation. (It is true that when the limit memory VM is not set).

If memory free host down to the low threshold, the hypervisor begins to find the memory using the balloon. Balloon happens before free memory has actually reached the soft threshold because it takes time for the balloon pilot to allocate and PIN memory physics reviews. Usually, the balloon pilot is able to retrieve the memory in a timely order to keep free memory in the host above the soft line. »

I checked esxtop, pressing "m" for the display of the memory, and I see that hosts VMKMEM shows 'State', so the only memory of way either currently retrieved is by sharing the page. Only when I start to run out of memory of the host, that this State becomes 'soft' or 'hard', balloon or Exchange will be held in order to free the "free" memory of comments. ESXTOP show my 'minfree"than 940 MB, while it shows that I physically 6960MB of free memory.

    original title: supervision XP

Maybe the disc has been formatted as part of your original installation of Windows XP with a pre - SP1 version of Windows.  At that point, he could only format the drive as 137 GB.  After you upgrade to a post-SP1 version of Windows, look at your hard drive with Disk Manager (start-> Run-> "diskmgmt.msc").  It can show the rest of your unused space that you might then be able to allocate in a second partition.

If you want to keep one big partition, you will need to get a 3rd third party tool that can extend your current 137 GB partition to use more of the available space.  Google for it, plenty of them out there including those that are free.

  • Higher than the usual number of download errors

    Hello

I was just curious if anyone here knew nothing of a level higher than the usual number of download errors I hear on clients.

The anaylytics seems to backup the fact that several of our downloads fail outside the previous months (based on the new issue that comes out).
