  • Windows 7 reinstall "invalid product key".

I recently started a computer fixing for someone, they got three Dell Optiplex 755 desktop computers, and I got a few pieces of each of them (hard drive, processor, ram cards). I got the computer to boot, but since it's so old and I don't know what is the file system and it is a bit slow, I tried to reinstall Windows. I have the disc to install Windows 7 Professional x 64 and went to control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Recovery\Advanced recovery methods then clicked Reinstall windows. It restarts with the disc and went to the screen configuration, but then stopped and said that you can not install Windows because it has an invalid product key. Don't know why it does, but when I got to do start back when I also got to put in it, it says that Windows needs to be reactivated because of hardware changes, so in PowerShell, I typed in [slmgr-ato]. It worked, and after a reboot the lower right corner of the Office had more "Is not a genuine copy of Windows" on this subject, so I guess it worked. Can someone help me?

Returning can be done only if you have installed in the past 30 days (if you created a new user, you should remove it before come back you)

Back on the settings > update & security > Recovery > roll back to a previous operating system

This will only work if the windows.old and 2 hidden folders ($Windows. ~ WS & Windows $. ~ BT) are still present.  If you do that you will need to re - install.
  • Windows 7 key invalid product after the re - install?

I recently had to make a new re-install of Windows 7 Home Premium on my laptop using my USB and an iso I downloaded from Microsoft.  Everything was going great until yesterday when suddenly a box appears saying that my Windows could not be enabled because the key is not valid.  I used the product key that is located on the Windows sticker on the back of my laptop, so I know that it is legitimate and it seems rather strange that this would begin past 2 weeks after the new facility instead of immediately.  If anyone can shine a light on it, I'd appreciate it.

Well, the errors disappeared, but you are still not activated, try the activation of the phone:

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

    1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

    (2) press the ENTER"" key.

    (3) select your "country" in the list.

    (4) choose the option "activate phone".

    (5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

    (6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.

  • Windows 7 fail - invalid product key

Dear Microsoft - I'm about 10 hours in the direction of your store from competitors...

I have a custom desktop system that took place from Win 7 peacefully for many years.  After a failure of the upgrade of Windows 10, I wiped the HD and reinstalled Windows 7.

Problem is that Windows does not accept my OEM product key.  Yes, I tried repeatedly, validated I typed in correctly, etc.  It's the only PC, this product has been installed on.  Card mother and other components have not been changed.

I have wasted way too many hours to solve the created Windows 10 train wreck when he tried to improve myself.  Income, I've lost to date would have paid for a new M@C.  Thank you, Microsoft.

If you can not help rescue this soon you have lost a customer forever...

See the bottom of the issue of the genesis of this problem.

I don't know why you would have displayed a failure to upgrade to backup and updates forum instead of our world class facility forum where we treat these cases by the thousands.  We could have helped you sort on the spot and you would have lost nothing.

In the present case is always with the lower upgrade in place, like a factory, install no tech fan would always go in the first place.  Not the one who did the vastly superior clean reinstall Windows 7 has these complaints.  You can even turn on with the Windows 7 product key after installation.

As for the activation of Windows 7:

Click right button start to open the Admin command prompt

    Type slui 4, press ENTER.

Follow the prompts to update your activation ID in MS Servers.

If he fails to stay on the line for an agent, explain the situation.

Reporting results for the other steps if necessary.   There is always the last resort to communicate with the Service customer who are responsible for checking the product key and once confirmed open a pension deal to get turned on by any means necessary.

We also volunteers here and not Ms.   So threatening to a BONE with 10% of the market is fun but waste of time when we could help you.

  • Back to Windows 7 Home premium to Windows 8? Product key for OEM (Toshiba) is available

My new PC has Windows 7 Home premium pre-installed, and I've upgraded to Windows 8. I want to go back to Windows 7 - I have the product key on a sticker on my PC but not the drive - how can I do? Thanks in advance!

    Ken

Your computer is equipped with a recovery instead of disk partition...

This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...

For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For LG, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward

For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

For Fujitsu, press the F8 key directly after the power

Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"

Sony VAIO, restart and until that screen "Advanced Boot Options" appears, press "F8".

You may need to try several times to get everything above to work. If after several attempts, you have no chance, or the machine indicates that there is no recovery partition, your only option is to contact the computer manufacturer and ask for the model recovery discs...

After the reset, you should get all the updates from Windows Update EXCEPT for hardware devices. Then, you install a good antivirus. ONLY AFTER you have done this, if you replace the stuff of backups or install anything else.

  • Back to Windows 8 for Windows 8.1 - options?

My apologies if I'm too harassed to introduce myself properly and more apologies if this isn't the right forum. I searched for several weeks for the microsoft forum the right to ask my question.

I had a Windows 8 Setup that worked without problem on a laptop costly and heavily used for about 2 years. A month ago, my laptop automatically upgraded to Windows 8.1 on previous occasions, I was able to restore Windows 8 via a previous restore point. This time, all previous restore points had been removed, and I could not go back to Windows 8.

Since the upgrade automatically, internet no longer works. The solution proposed by the troubleshooter was to connect to the internet while my computer can be controlled automatically. It's so illogical, that it's almost funny.

I tend to imagine that the automatic upgrade messed with some driver required to establish an internet connection. What are the chances of return to Windows 8 without having to reinstall my programs? My settings before the automatic update of Windows 8.1 be preserved? 'Reset the computer' would do that? Or "Refresh", restore it to the Windows 8? I want to preserve my administrative and other settings before the upgrade, as well as files, even if if necessary files can be saved.

    Hi Nicolas,.

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.  I understand that you are unable to connect to internet after updating to Windows 8.1.  This problem may occur by not updated drivers.

To help you better answer a question.

    1. What is the brand and model of your computer?

You can download the drivers from the manufacturers Web site and the updates manually to resolve the problem.

Please see section installation drivers yourself linked below and try to update the drivers:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/all-drivers

You can also downgrade to Windows 8.1 to Windows 8.

To downgrade please follow the suggestion of Kristjan responded November 1, 2013.

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows8_1-system/how-do-i-downgrade-from-Windows-81-to-Windows-8/8ab5f14e-9960-4fe9-9e5c-15c14b6f05c7

Hope this information helps. If you have any other questions feel free to respond and we would be happy to help.

    Thank you.

  • Satellite L750 - Windows 10 - can I roll back to Windows 7?

I upgraded to 10 Windows in Windows 7, but I lost the wireless driver and cannot download it from anywhere (unless you know better). Also, I lost Internet Explorer. When I tried to download the system I have an updated copy even though God knows where he is.

My question is - can I roll back to Windows 7, which I was pretty happy?

As much as I know L750 is not supported for Win10 so I think that the best option for you is to go back to Win7.
After several problems with Win10, I did the same thing and I am happy now using original Win7.

  • Pavilion dv6-4024tx: display random crashing after upgrade to Windows 10 (back to Windows 7)

    Hey all,.

I used to own a computer laptop dv6-4024tx Pavilion which I gave to my father to use after you have bought a new laptop for my part. It was in pretty good condition when I gave it to him, with the only problem being that she would get very hot unless a cooling pad was used (which I it comes with). At the time, it was running Windows 7 Home Premium with no problems and everything was fine. However, it might be interesting to note that while I had it I had problems with random blue screens while I was with the latest graphics drivers, so I drove back to the drivers supplied on the support page for this laptop. After I "upgraded" to Windows 10 (do not perform a clean install) for my dad, the laptop would randomly crash and display something like the photo that I have attached, before going empty and show again several times. Believing that it would be a problem with the GPU, I went and Display Driver Uninstaller to remove completely all AMD drivers and software, downloaded the latest driver on the AMD website and installed. It seemed to temporarily solve the problem, but as it's always within 30 days of installation, I offered to go back to Windows 7, but my father wanted to leave it and see how it happened. Oddly enough, for the next month, it never reported the laptop crashing again and the time period for return finally expired. The problem of course back then I tried the same solution from before but the noise continued. I tried to disable the GPU completely from the Device Manager, so that the laptop was running with Microsoft Basic display adapter. He seems to have stopped the fracas, but less than a week my father told me that he had crashed again.  I tried to restore the laptop to a system image I had done years ago, but I learned that you cannot restore an image to a different version of Windows System. Finally, as a last resort I backed everything up and made a real clean install of Windows 10, and the problem has not yet disappear.

My goal now is to return the Windows 7 laptop somehow. I can mount a virtual image of the system hard drive and access all the recovery files provided by HP, specifically the Recovery Manager. From there, I can do a recovery USB or DVD (s) we hope to restore the laptop to all conditions of factory (so theoretically return to Windows 7). I will try this, but I need a flash player more than 20 GB or several blank DVDs I don't currently. In addition, Recovery Manager says that this medium can never be created once, so it save me time and money (not to mention my last lifeline) if someone could please share their views on the question of whether this method would be successful or not. I know in case it doesn't work, there is always the question of registration of the OS by Microsoft, but I can cross that bridge when I get to it.

Sorry for the essay I just wrote, but this has been a problem for too long, and I am at a loss to know what to do now (apart from the purchase of another computer). If there are any questions I'll be happy to answer, and I hope we can get this issue is resolved. See you soon.

If you follow this step 3.

    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/675-system-image-recovery.html

You will need to select "format and repartition disks" as windows 10 will have changed partitions.
