Backlight problems

Hello, I was just in class about to take notes with my Lenovo X61T and when I changed to Tablet mode, the screen has become really dim and the backlight lights up ever. When he returns in portable mode, the backlight turns on. So, after the return home, I noticed that at certain angles, the backlight flickers power with light kicks on and off. I think that cables could have loose, but I don't know where to start looking. Does anyone have an idea? (Also, just to test, it is not a computer thing, is it possible to disable the turn on the backlight regardless of this orientation the screen if the laptop is closed?)

Thank you in advance!

the problem of back light appears when there is a little tension on the cable of the LCD screen that's why I think it is the cable of the LCD screen.

CHANGE > on the hadou poster a link and it has very good pictures of x61t and show how disassembly and reassembly

  • Backlight problem Tecra A2 - image is very small

    Hello
    I have a Tecra A2 with a backlight problem.
The LCD displays properly, but without any backlight, the image is very low.

When the laptop is started is turned perfectly for about 3 seconds before turning off. Boots of portable code and can be used with an external monitor. If I close it now the backlight of the laptop turns on for a few seconds before turning off again. I tried a new Backlight Inverter which had no effect. Sensor lid closed is the magnetic type (no doubt a reed relay) and measure 100Kohms when open? and 0 ohms when closed.
This 100K would be the problem?

Everyone knows one of these symptoms or matter that has any backlight data converter, I wonder if I have a second faulty inverter.

This could be a faulty back light FL problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    You're just Philip.

For me, it looks like the defective inverter FL too
You said that the display on the external monitor looks fine. So we can eliminate a GPU fault.

I think that your should contact the ASP in your country. The technician must check the defective part (probably FL inverter) and need to replace it with a new, compatible.

    > I wonder if I have a second faulty inverter
I see you've already replaced the inverter a FL and the issue still seems hmm to be honest, I think you used a bad, but who knows that nothing is impossible.

Then ask the technician to ASP for later handling

  • Tecra A11 - LED backlight problem

I have great pain in my eyes after a day of working with Tecra A11 BIOS V1.7 = BIOS update. Wenn I bought it there was 1.4 BIOS the same problem with the eyes, LED backlight killing my eyes, a lot of pain after a day's work. V1.5 and 1.6 are much better (no pain) but new BIOS 1.7 is the same eye-killer than 1.4.

Who will help me? Users of this forum?

I want the people of Toshiba to help me, they sell the product ready 1/2, absolutely bad work! No contacts to Toshiba just this forum. Toshiba is interested in my problem with its Tecra A11 laptop bad and stupid BIOS updates? I'm really angry, never had such problems with laptop so much. So excuse my emoutions that I'm starting to hate Toshiba for the very bad experience with this Tecra A11. Why some users of this forum should help me? I paid a lot of money to Toshiba, so I want that people of the Toshiba to tell me what they do in their BIOS updates, silly kill my eyes with LCD backlighting. How many BIOS updates will be needed to make the Tecra A11 work correctly for 800 EUROS? I'll never buy anything from Toshiba.

    Hi dusanpov,

First of all: cool! Nobody is perfect and that these things can happen that something does not work correctly.

I put t know what problems you have with LED backlight, but a more detailed description would be nice. A friend of me also uses the Tecra A11 but it didn t tell me questions so I think this laptop works very well.

And I think that it of normal that there is no contact with Toshiba and you won't get any help from Toshiba because you will need to contact a * authorized service provider *. If you have a problem with your laptop, connect with these guys here. They can repair the laptop and it's free if your laptop is under warranty. On the Toshiba site, you can find a list of them.
    Check this box!

Finally, and especially if you have noticed that with an older version of BIOS, that everything works correctly, you can get this older version of a service as well. As you can see, it might be useful to communicate with these guys here.

If you have any other questions, just after again! :)

  • Satellite 1110 backlight problem?

    Hello
I had a Toshiba Satellite 1110 for about 1 1/2 years and recently the screen went dark, it seems that the backlight has broken or come off. It sounds like it could be a problem with the LCD inverter (as a google search shows) and I was curious to know if my model would be accepted although it is not on it: http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/generic_content.jsp?service=UK&ID=FL_INVERTER_UK list?

If this is not the case, this problem would be the title of the component Exchange program? The model is listed, but the symptoms are not the same as the link of mine: http://www.toshibadirect.com/content/pc/b2c/CEP.html

Edit: I live in the United Kingdom if that makes a difference

Any help would be great, thanks
    Claire Harris

    Dear Claire,

The best way to solve your problem is to contact the after-sales Service of Toshiba partner. AFAIK all Toshiba laptops are covered by a two year European warranty. They can check your hardware of machine parts and exchange of defect.

Here you have the link to the database of the Toshiba Service partner

  • IdeaPad Touch U530 - backlight problems

    Hi all

Before the end of 2013, I bought an Ideapad U530 Touch for the school and it has worked well until a fews days when the backlight for the left most CTRL key has stopped working and shut off completely. All other keys on the map is fine, with the exception of this one. Is it all easy to fix this problem, or I have to send the computer back integer?

    Thank you

Good day and welcome to the community.

Looking at pages 61 and 62 of your Manual of Maintenance of equipment:

http://download.Lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/ideapad_u530touch_hmm.PDF the keyboard is part of the top cover base and is listed as a non-CRU part (CRUS by). In addition, replacing it seems to be a complete teardown and rebuild of the machine.

Best advice is to call the Service (details below), since I assume that you are still under warranty.

    I hope this helps.

  • Backlight problems, Alienware

    Hello

    I have Dell Alienware 17 R2.

Some time ago began a problem: when I work in battery mode, the backlight of my computers becomes almost extinct, it is almost not visible. Previously, he worked in full force. In AC mode, it works well.

How can I find the bright backlight in battery mode?

p.s. in AlienFusion AlienFx is on 'on' in battery mode.

    Thank you.

Search for "dark areas" in AlienFX, or possibly by right-clicking the Alien leader on the taskbar. Test disabled and enabled.

  • Satellite C850-19Z - display backlight problem

    Hello

I bought this laptop about a year ago and my laptop disappeared for about 2.5 months.

    The screen went black suddenly.
We used an HDMI cable to connect our laptop with our TV screen, and then it worked perfectly.

So we thought (while even shining on the screen with a flashlight) that the backlight is somehow be disconnected or broken. Because sometimes the screen turns on for a few minutes and then it turns off again.

We had our laptop to our shop in the first week of October.
He send to Toshiba and they replaced the hard disk drive (when it wasn't really something goes wrong with it).

But yeh we went it like 2-3 weeks later and initially it seemed to work once again, but a day or two later it returned to the black.

We shot new, we returned there again after yet 2 or 3 weeks, I did not what they have changed, but they have installed software to check the health of the screen.
Everything went well until see a day or two later that there was no light at the end of the tunnel.

Now it's back to the store AGAIN and I wonder or it isn't some distance that I can use that they actually give me a new laptop or replacing the entire screen or something instead of turning around.

Toshiba has a good brand name in Belgium but I am far from happy with the services that have been performed up to now.

    Best regards

    > Now it's back to the store AGAIN and I wonder or it isn't some distance I can use they really give me a new laptop or replace all of the screen or something instead of turning around.

Usually the laptop is covered by the limited warranty of one year.
During the warranty period should be set the laptop free for free, but to my knowledge, you won't get a new laptop, but defective parts will be replaced.

    > Toshiba has a good brand name in Belgium but I am far from happy with the services that have been performed up to now.

Well, it s Plains still if a device starts to malfunction. But the electronics are very sensitive. It's so any portable computer from the manufacturer; just something like that happens in the world of computing world.

But the fact is that should fix the laptop for free to your full satisfaction. If the laptop does not work, service provider contact allowed in your country again and ask for the manipulation of the Fryer

  • Satellite P105 P105 6114 - backlight problem

    Hello

Maybe it's an easy answer, but I searched the net looking without success yet. I have a P105 6114 I just to have the screen replaced. I sent the machine and replaced the screen and this has solved the problem of the original gray line.

That appeared, however, is now the new screen appear brighter on the right side than the left. I tried several different wallpapers to test and it's still noticeable.

Even the toolbars appear brighter on the right. Is this a problem with the repair and should I take it back to the technician or is it possibly a new problem? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Mark

    Hello Mark

In this case you should contact the service as soon as possible. They replaced the screen and everything should work well. So if there is a problem they should take a look again and it works well.

Don t accomplish alone. Service is responsible for this.

  • HP Pavilion DV6-6031eo - black screen (backlight problem)

I ve bought a new laptop Pavilion DV6-6031eo 2 weeks ago, and it worked fine until today.

    The question:

When I turn on the laptop, it starts as usual and the system works perfectly, but the screen is black, so I can´t use it, unless you use another monitor, think I Don t want to. I think it has something to do with the backlight, or perhaps the retroeclairages cable routes.
HP logo at the back of my screen used to light up when I turned on my laptop, but now it s too messed up.

No backlight and no light in the HP logo.

I ve sent an email to HP TotalCare, since I got my warranty (lasts 1 year) and I would like to know if they will cover it.

Hopefully, I will get a response as soon as possible.

    Thank you.

PS: Sorry for my bad English. I m of the Denmark, so it s not my mother tongue.

    Hello

Guaranteed that you have on this model it will cover for you and your English is very good.

  • UP2516D, 3rd party vendor, backlight problem

    Hi all

I just bought a UP2516D in a UK online store. I started to experiment, and I noticed that when I content black on the screen there is an abnormal amount of light coming from the lower part of the monitor. I took the following photos in a bright environment dark and normal. Do you think that there is nothing that can be done? I could ask for a replacement, but I want to keep it as last chance if possible. Thanks in advance.

For me, I could not justify an Exchange. I'm in the USA. Maybe UK Support technical opinion will be different. Or, if you are inside the first 30 days of the date of purchase by the dealer, contact them and see if they will be assigned a customer exchange for reasons of "satisfaction".

  • Problem of backlight Satellite Pro L10 - the screen is very dark

    Hello

I've got a L10 Pro of the Satellite with a backlight problem - the screen is very dark.
How can I confirm if it is the backlight themselves who have failed or the backlight inverter Board?

Also, can someone point me in the right direction for a copy of the workshop manual?

    Thank you very much!

    Hello

As you have said that this problem could be linked to the failure of inverter FL and in most cases, the FL inverter needs to be replaced.
It's a little bit complicated and it s not desirable to try to replace it to your own hand as this may damage the screen of laptop computers.
This is why I would really recommend contacting a Toshiba ASP because of two important reasons:
First reason is that you can order the ASP compatible FL inverter and the second reason is that an ASP could provide help how to replace this part.

If you want to know where and how he placed s then you can visit this page:
    http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/Toshiba-Satellite-A105/remove-replace-LCD-screen-1.htm

Of course, this page shows only the wow of instruction to remove and replace the Satellite A105 FL inverter, but the procedure is not very different from the Sat L10.

But like I said above; If you have no experience don t do anything, which could damage the laptop!

  • Problems of backlight T400

Hey guys, this is my first post on the forums, and I want to you guys for help.  I have a t400 I ordered probably around August 2009, and he had problems with backlight since November of the same year.  As I was busy on an exceptional basis and am exceptionally lazy, I never move to use the warranty, so I was stuck with a laptop with backlight sorta worked, but it's strange.  In fact, I would say that the problem is almost identical to those described in this thread, and more precisely on this photo (not posted by me, but me has the same appearance).

    http://forums.Lenovo.com/T5/T400-T500-and-newer-T-series/led-backlight-problems/m-p/258207

    http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/6695/backlight.jpg

Basically, the dark spots are where the backlight just simply does not work.  I removed the bezel and replaced the sub (thought I would need an inverter, but surprised to find that it is a LED screen), but the same problems.  What do you think guys?  Is it, as has suggested, the motherboard?  As it's going to be a huge pain to get fixed :/

Is there anything else I can do to avoid the other stuff first, which could be cheaper / more common?  One last thing, is that I always noticed that the rear case (i.e. the back of the cover) has always been a little convex and slightly distorted a bit, and initially (as when the laptop first showed this problem) it could be fixed by simple bending the screen a little and moving a bit.  I tested today again, and some parts dark screen can be fixed by pressing right on the LCD itself (when the frame is removed), so I feel as if it was a connection problem, rather than the broken hardware or something.

    Thanks in advance

resembling backlight of the LCD that has a problem, a couple of the LED is out or the LED backlight is moved to the LCD screen. But that would require a new LCD on a County.

I had this problem in one of my old T400, requiring a new LCD.

  • iPad 2 Mini - Lcd shows the Apple logo for 2 seconds and disappears but reloading works when I plug in the charger.

The title should cover everything about what I'm going to tell you.

The screen is black, while the iPad is running when I plug it into my mac, I see all my data and I can hear the sound of my messages/screenshot or screen when charging.

The only time I see the Apple logo for 2 sec is when I restart the iPad now Power + Home at the same time.

Would appreciate if you guys could help.

NVM, I found the cause of this. This is a backlight problem. Apparently the filter or the fuse has been damaged and needs to be replaced... another $ 40 on the iPad repair...

  • Pavilion 22fi: HP Pavilion 22fi darker on half left

    Good day everyone!

I got my 22fi like three years ago. His first a year and a half, the Middle below got darker as he had a circular spot. I let him rest for a few weeks, but he has always had the problem so I ignored it because I sorely need to monitor (and it's just a place anyway). After a month, half left got too dark and now it's evil in my eyes glancing a unbalanced illuminated screen.

I suspect a backlight problem. But it's weird because once turn on the monitor, it is perfectly on the first microsecond of operation then darkens immediately. I tried changing the cables and monitors, the problem really is my 22fi.

    Thank you very much!

    Hi there @FranzKiernan,

That the Forums are with you!  I understand that your screen has several areas of shadows.  I'm happy to give you a helping hand with this.

The only thing I can suggest is to try a screen factory reset and see if there is no change.

Press the button Auto or automatic selection on the monitor.
Press Menu, and then select factory reset

If this does not make a difference then it is likely that one or more of the backlight lights would have to be replaced. If this is what your choice will depend on your warranty status.  I don't think HP fix screens, but if it is under warranty it is to call such that it would be probably replaced.

Please let me know if it works for you and if it does not solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

  • Failure of LCD?

I have a HP DV6-7029WM, I bought refurbished last summer. Just noticed today some Brown staining on the edges of the screen. They are spread on a regular basis. Is this a failure of the LCD screen or Inverter or backlight problem?

Look towards the middle of the upper part of the browser, see points of light by the Youtube icon?  It is of brown spots in these reasons around the top right and top left through bottom left of my screen, then a tiny bit at the bottom right.

Someone else had the same problem, as in, it looks just like mine.

    Their image-

    Hi tige321,
