backup 0x80780028A error

It's been a while since I backed up PC Win7 and it worked then.  I get the error msg backup error 0x80780028A;  I have not checked the logs errors and no real ID program or a service that is problem.  Can help you with solutions to get past this error because I'm desperate to do a full backup.  Also the wrong system backup with the same error!  Help, please!  Thank you.

According to MS supports the problem because win7 not support readers who use a size of logical sector of 4 096 bytes. Older readers use a sector size physical and logical to 512 bytes, which can handle all versions of Windows.

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2510009/en-us

There is an update for windows 7 that solves a few problems with this new sector size, but the Windows backup is not one of them, as I've already tried with my system.

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/982018

Currently, the only solution seems to be to use another backup solution or switch to win8

  • Cannot run the Windows backup utility, error: "a file already exists (0X800700B7)."

I have a Lenovo Think Pad with Windows Vista.  When I try to back up the computer, I choose backup and the location of tools accessory system configuration.  Then I run a backup to start and identify a DVD RW as the location of the backup files.  I click to start and a screen pops up saying

OX800700B7 is not a file name. It is an error code.

    Hello

If you have any security software installed on the computer it would take more time for the backup center to back up files. Try to disable security software and try to make a backup and verify.

If it works fine afterwards, enable the security software.

Follow the link for more information

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

You can also run the disk cleanup utility and check if that helps.

    Start disk cleanup

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-disk-cleanup

Also try to run a check disk to the hard drive.

    To run the disk check

    1. open the computer by clicking the Start button, click computer.

    2. right click on the hard drive you want to check, and then click Properties.

    3. click on the sur l' onglet tab Tools and then, under error-checking, click check now. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

To automatically repair problems with files and folders that detects the scanning, select automatically fix file system errors. Otherwise, the disk check will simply report a problem, but not to fix them.

To perform a full disk check, select search for and attempt recovery of bad sectors. This scan is trying to find and repair physical errors on the hard drive itself, and it may take much longer to complete.

To check for errors file and the physical errors, select automatically fix file system errors and search for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.

    4. click on Start.

Depending on the size of your hard disk, this may take several minutes. For best results, do not use your computer for any other tasks while it checks errors.

For more information follow the link

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/check-a-drive-for-errors

After performing a check disk try to run the backup process and check if this is useful

    Hope this information is useful.

  • Backup impossible error 0 x 81000019. Cannot create the shadow...

I can create backups is no longer on my computer. Whenever I try, I get the same error message.

"A snapshot could not be created. Pleasse check "VSS" and "SPP" applications for more information event logs.
Details: shadow enough storage to create the copy storage file or other shadow copy data. "Error code: 0 x 81000019

I know that it says that there is not enough space, but it's not likely. This is a fairly new computer, less than a month, and the hard drive I backup a lot of storage space left (800 + Gb).

When you save files on a computer Windows 7 may appear error 0 x 81000019 with an error message similar to the following:

"A snapshot could not be created. Please check the event logs "VSS" and "SPP" application for more information. Details: shadow enough storage to create the copy storage file or other shadow copy data. »

This error can occur as a result of having too many language packs for Windows installed on your computer.

The cause is that the backup process involves the system writer who reports files in applications, installed on the machine. Where a large number of language packs installed, reported by this writer metadata file becomes huge in size and does not fit the size of 100 MB. This causes the backup to fail since there is not enough space for the creation of shadow copies. This isn't something that you can check to validate because this metadata file is created during the backup and deleted at the end.

To resolve this issue, uninstall all unused language packs that are currently installed on your computer. You can do this by clicking Start and then typing Lpksetup.exe in the search box and then click Lpksetup.exe in the list of programs. Once the Language Pack installation starts, click on uninstall display languages. Uninstall the languages that you don't use and then restart your computer, restart the backup.

    Hello

    Thanks for the quick response.

I understand that you have problems with a service named "event COM system +"(event system) - 'Manual' & 'Automatic'. "."

    (a) the name of the service is "system event COM +" (without the quotes) and that the service should have a manual or automatic status. In addition, should be started.

    (b) and if this service has a status of disabled or stopped then, follow the steps mentioned below to change the same.

    1. right click services, and then click Properties.

    2. If the service is disabled, change status to automatic and if it stops, and then start the service.

    3. restart the computer and then check.

I hope this helps. Otherwise, answer this answer and we will be happy to help you again.

Found my own answer today from Western Digital.  If you have decided to make a backup image with the help of Windows 7, don't BUY THEIR 3 TB MYBOOK.  Here is what they sent me.

    Dear JJ,

Please contact Western Digital Service and customer support.

This problem seems to be caused by a problem with the Windows 7 backup and restore when you use disks with logical sector of 4 K sizes, which are found on WD 2.5 to and larger external drives. It's a bit different from the readers of 'Advanced Format', who are 4 K physical sector sizes and should not cause this problem.

It is always possible to use a disc, as long as you don't need to use the drive with Windows XP. Using the quick WD Formatter tool, select "Factory Default" configuration to reformat the drive. WARNING: This tool will erase all data on your drive, in order to take the necessary precautions.

  • Windows 7 64-bit. The backup failed, error 0 x 80070020

When you perform a backup of the complete picture of my 64-bit Windows 7 machine I received an error: the backup failed.  The process cannot access the file becaue it is used by another process.  0 x 80070020

    OK, let's go:

The computer is a little over a month, I just built it in December.  It's only a 64 bit MB Gigabyte with AMD processor and 4 GB of memory.  I have an internal drive C and D. I had no problem with the procedure of backup for the first three weeks, and then it started.

    Hardware drivers are all new.
No recent changes to the computer during the last 10 days
I have NOT installed any software CD burning in the last 10 days.
I installed iTunes a month ago.
iTunes ran very well until a couple of days ago when a message began to appear:

"The registry settings used by the iTunes for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing.  This can occur as a result of installing other CD burning software.  Please reinstall iTunes.

I ran a repair on iTunes (an option that came when I tried to uninstall) and since it did not work, I completely uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes.  Still have the problem.

Then I ran /Scannnow STC.  No problem found

Then I ran chkdsk C: /f /r.  No problem found

Then I ran the backup program.  Same error, the backup was not completely successful, error Code: 0 x 80070020.

I went to backup settings and change them as the suggested message.  I DISABLED "Backup data for newly created users" and the backup completed successfully.

My question is double what the _ is this option there for and why are these kinds of things put in the first place in DEFAULT AS of the elements operating systems?

Looks like all is well and I spent most of a solving Sunday.
