Windows 7 64 bit "last backup failed - error Code Ox80070020"

Acer Aspire 5745 G notebook computer with Windows 7 Home Premium. Intel i3 CPU M350 @ 2.27 GHz 4 GB of Ram.

Backup has never been completed successfully on this machine. I tried a normal and system backup, or complete. I tried also to backup on a key USB and a DVD r same error received in both cases.

I have run CHKDSK C:/f/r and the/scannow STC. No problem detected in both cases.

Then I ran the backup program, accepting the default settings... Same error received "the backup has failed. Error Code Ox80070020'.

I have the East went to the backup settings and changed to allow Windows to choose the default value to use to decide. I unchecked "backup data for new users created.  Even if the backup seems further to 60%, before failing and return the above error. Previous backups have failed quickly after the start, 10 to 20% of the progress on the bar.

When researching the problem on a similar problem in Windows Vista (different error message Ox80070002) has been attributed to a missing "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsBackup" registry key  Is there a similar key within the registry on my laptop. Searched the registry on my laptop with a negative result.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Hello

Thanks for the quick response.

I understand that you have problems with a service named "event COM system +"(event system) - 'Manual' & 'Automatic'. "."

(a) the name of the service is "system event COM +" (without the quotes) and that the service should have a manual or automatic status. In addition, should be started.

(b) and if this service has a status of disabled or stopped then, follow the steps mentioned below to change the same.

1. right click services, and then click Properties.

2. If the service is disabled, change status to automatic and if it stops, and then start the service.

3. restart the computer and then check.

I hope this helps. Otherwise, answer this answer and we will be happy to help you again.

Thank you

Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).

Now to find the files you want to back up, just drag and drop them on the USB. When you're done, shut down the system and remove the USB key.

  • Install backup fails error code 0 x 80070032 windows 7

I tried to backup on my elements external hard drive so I can install 64-bit instead of 32-bit windows 7, but I get the same error code. I searched the forum and internet, check the profiles of regedit, done sfc/scannow, and nothing doesn't seem bad. Help!

    Hello

Remember to make changes to your computer before the problem?

Follow these steps and check if the problem persists.

Step 1: You can check if the backup and restore services are started when you try to make a back up of files.

    a. click on start
    b. in the start search box, type Services
    c. click right on - RUN as ADMINISTRATOR

These are the services that must be running when you try to make a return to the top.

    Automatic started Windows event log
    Task Scheduler started auto
    Backup Windows stopped manual

Step 2: You may want to consider temporarily disabling your security software and then try to save.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Step 3: I would also say that you check your disk for errors.

    Check a drive for errors

    Hello

I am not specifying that it works for everyone, however... at this pint why not try a more...

Due to the motherboard died & replaced, (I have a Dell, Windows 7 pro), I also started to receive the error message "wonderful." I studied the error code. I keep trying all the tips & advice, I finally decided to stop to create the "repair disk" & ignore other messages, "create a system image", so I opened the clicked the ' Manager of Dell & Restore backup & complete these two tasks... I then, (pour myself a tall glass of wine & installed for another session of 'try' to solve this error code of backup), I opened the "restore backup manager & Dell new & clicked on"Save"AND the backup is complete!"

I mean, that's why not to create another image of the system ', create another 'repair disc", & then try to make a backup... If you do not have this issue fixed, you have nothing to lose by trying, right?

  • After using Windows 7 backup, Windows said: "the last backup failed."

I use Windows 7 Pro backup each week to a separate hard drive. I needed to use the backup today. After using action Center says now that my last backup failed. It is still listed in the backup and it worked, then why is it listed as failed now?

Event ID 4 means the backup completed successfully

Have you compared the last backup to backup other files?

You can try to perform a new backup to make sure that it works correctly.

Antivirus software may have hindered during the backup process and triggered the message "failure of the last backup.  Turn it off when you run another backup.
