  • BlackBerry Smartphones looking for backup file BlackBerry IPD Category Descriptions

    Hello world

For the life of me. I can't seem to find the list of category descriptions listed in a *. IPD backup file.

What I basically want to do, is to isolate the sound patterns (alerts) and * NOT * have the backup file wipe out the original default patterns that are loaded with a clean installation of the BlackBerry Device Software.  Also, that the list description would come very handy for future restorations!

Thanks in advance to anyone who can point me in the right direction.

    Thank you!

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

Hmmm... Category descriptions... I'm not quite positive which is... maybe it's databases? If so, here's a knockout that lists those:

    • KB03974 List of all databases on the BlackBerry smartphone

I'm guessing that your tent a selective restore of certain databases rather than restore complete. What happens, however, is the replacement of the complete database indeed... regardless of the database that is located on the device is is replaced by what is in the IPD file. For some databases, there are tricks to merge the data that can be undertaken - for most messages, calendar, contacts and tasks... 'the organizer' standard databases, but I don't know the method to merge the databases of configuration (as well as alert profiles).

    Good luck!

  • Backup problem blackBerry software

    Hello

As I improved my Classic and the passport for the last OS I can no longer save either device through BlackBerry link. I can perform all other functions like the sync contacts etc... I always get an error message saying to check to see if the device is connected or turned on which it is. I have sent newspapers for BlackBerry, but have not yet heard back from this post. I also deleted and reinstalled the link. No idea why this is happening?

    Thank you!

I wanted to mention I wiped the device and reload the software. Bingo! Everything works including WiFi, the appeal of TMO.

  • BlackBerry software how to get RAR file bbb

    Hello

I have (very foolishly, I might add) has changed the file format of a backup file for my Passport of Blackberry from bbb to rar.

Now I can't seem to find a way to return to bbb, BB link is unable to recognize my backup.

Is it possible to fix this?

Hello and welcome to the community!

How, exactly, did you change the actual file format?

Or did you just change the bbb to rar file extension? If so, then the actual file format is unchanged, but the software LINK indeed would need to see it with a bbb file extension in order to make it work.

Please specify the details, on the surface, it seems like it should be a very easy solution... just change the file extension to bbb, via some file manager app is it on any computer you use.

  • Name of blackBerry Smartphones change a backup file

Being new BB, I thought I'd ask first rather than just do it. For purposes I want to change the name of my back ups backup file . No problem with that as long as I know what they are. I'm not going to change the destination folder.

No, none that I know. I don't know why you want to change anyway, but that's not relevant.

When you perform a backup is the BlackBerry Desktop Software, you can configure the name of the folder as make you it.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones trasfering contacts of Q10 backup file

    Hello

My old Blackberry Q10 was stolen.

Some time ago I made a backup through BBlink.

I need to transfer information contacts of this backup of the files to my priv again.

    Please help me.

    Thank you very much

    Lubos

Unfortunately, there is no way to transfer the data from a backup file of BB to the priv. The only way is to use the content transfer application. You must restore the data to a BB device and then use the content transfer application to move the data.

There are so many new contacts in my blackberry I want to synchronize with my address book on the computer, but I can't even read the file on my backup computer.

Unfortunately, this is not possible with the BlackBerry backup files. They can only be restored to a BlackBerry.

  • BlackBerry software apps in backup of archives .bbb

Hi everyone... my friend download a game BBworld (six guns). and backup of im applications.

IM try to rename the zip file and extract the file backup... and find a file and the folder .bbb = (.xml) and folder (Archives).

in the XML file search and find install game data and game in archive * beep * id in the tag archive.

Rename the version OS PIN, keyid, and mach.

then I create a backfile as with the original .bbb file and rename the file .bbb .zip

in blackberry desktop recognize the backup file and the file in detail name size is correct complete, but restoration when popup error backup and restart my blackberry.

How can I solve this problem? Thanks for help.

Apps are not saved so what you try to do is futile. Only the app data are saved. You may not extract or manually change the backup file to attempt to modify and restore it on the unit just will not work.

  • BlackBerry software BlackBerry ID - old email address and cannot remember the password: phone backup requires BBID thus.

I downloaded Blend and now I need a valid ID of BlackBerry.  I have a BlackBerry ID but the email address is an old work address that I use, because I quit this job.  Thus, I do not remember the email so I can't just change the attached email to the ID.

I think I should do a swip security but before I do I want to save my phone so I don't lose any of my applications and other information.

To make a back-up, I need to use the link and who also uses BlackBerry ID.

Any suggestions on what to do?

    Thank you

    Hello

First of all, ignore the mixture for now... get your device/BBID straightened first. Please see this post "sticky" for useful information about your situation BBID:

I hope that this information will be useful to you. Given what you describe, it is very likely that you will have to give up your BBID, WIPE your device and start over again with a brand new BBID (and this time, beware of high security and not lose track of the related powers / email accounts).

In what concerns the backup/restore association problem and it's the BBID to post a link, complete documentation of your configuration (e-mail accounts, configurations, etc.) will allow you to manually reconfigure later, and which would then be re - synchronize your accounts/data residing on servers somewhere. If you have only been store contacts/calendar/etc. on the device itself... Well, there is indeed a problem. I'm not sure that there is a way to overcome this, given the tie in the LINK to a backup file to a BBID. Maybe you can find a version older link that does not have this way of connection (and no, I do not know what version to recommend or where to find it).

See you soon and good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones to find the backup files to restore to the replacement unit

I have problems to find where the Blackberry Desktop Manager is to store my backup files.  A search on my computer for .ipd files shows nothing.  I did a backup of my original device and wants to restore the contacts, calendar, and photos.

Edit: After another attempt at original device backup and restoring the device the Desktop Manager has the restore button grey replacement.  In addition, the device PIN reads "zero" with unit replacement set.

Thanks, the third try was the charm.  The Documents folder was there and the PIN has been finally recognized and restore is complete.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones how access information backup file

    Hello

I installed the software to version 4.5 and therefore lost all of my pictures and addresses.  I see that a backup file was created (named LoaderBackup-(2010-08-08) .ipd) which is now on my computer.  Is it possible for me to access this file to restore photos and addresses, etc.?  I'm ready to go back to the previous version of the software for it.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

    Mark

Hello! You should be able to do this, Office Manager by selecting backup/restore > restore > select the file you want to use > press ok.

In my experiences, newer versions are for the most part, the compatably with data from older versions and therefore should always work.
