    In view of all your symptoms and issues, I would recommend a reload of the OS. The easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do on MAC):

    (1) make sure that you have a current backup and your BB complete... you can find the instructions at the link in my auto-sig below. It is perhaps questionable in your situation... you may or may not now be able to make a backup. I hope that you have a recent, that you can use.

    2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

    (3) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    (4) download and install on your computer, the BB OS package you want:

    There are two methods for recovering for you to try:

    Otherwise, I recommend that you try to start safe mode:

    It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, thinking... what happened just before this behavior started?     A battery pull is always recommended to take the first step.  You have done this, then I would jump straight to a reload of the OS.  Why are we so slow 9900 and the other is not?  I really have no reason for that, but the reload of the operating system is a good step to take.  Not to worry even upgrade to a newer version, sometimes the same reload OS will do (update if a new version is available is however also recommended).

    To do this, connect your phone to your PC and open BlackBerry Desktop Software.  Click on the device at the top of the software, then click on restore.  Load the last restore point.
