Backup management.

I have windows 7. I regularly run backups on the same disks. I noticed that the subsequent backups are much quisker, presumably because only the files that have been changed or added since a previous backup are collected.

My question is this - when I restore a complete file will I retrieve files that have been deleted and who were the objects of a previous backup or will note that it has been deleted and not restore...

Thank you Ronnie.

I'll try to communicate the problem better.

I have a backup folder.

Later, I delete a file from my computer.

Again a backup of this file at a later date.

Later, I lose the file.

When I restore I select the file restored as at the time of the last backup. Can easily achieve it?

Hello

Here's how it works.

1. you create Backup #1 which includes the folder xyz.

2. you delete file xyz.

3. you create Backup #2.

When you create the Backup #2, the folder xyz will appear in Backup #2, since he is no longer on the computer.

To retrieve the folder xyz, you must restore the Backup #1.

A few days ago, I took the managed user my database hot backup. And then, to check if the data file are in correct mode, I ran the query:

    SQL > select * sauvegardΘ v$.

FOLDER # STATUS CHANGES # TIMES
    ---------- ------------------ ---------- ---------
    1. NO ASSETS 6302304272 23 JANUARY 10
    2. NO ASSETS 6302305573 23 JANUARY 10
    3. NO ASSETS 6302304259 23 JANUARY 10
    4. NO ASSETS 6302305573 23 JANUARY 10
    5. NO ASSETS 6302305573 23 JANUARY 10
    6 0 NO ASSETS
    7 0 NO ASSETS

And, I didn't know that all data files have completed end backup mode. But today, when I query v$ datafile_header to check the column fuzzy then I was shocked to see the result below:

    SQL > select fuzzy from v$ datafile_header;

    FUZ
    ---
    YES
    YES
    YES
    YES
    YES
    YES
    YES

    7 selected lines.

I use oracle 9.2.0.8 on windows server 2003.

Although the view of backup $ v shows the same 'NOT ACTIVE' because all data files.this make me very confused.

    Please give me some feedback...

    Kind regards

V$ BACKUP and V$ DATAFILE_HEADER are two different views. Why confuse yourself? They are there to meet different requirements.

V$ BACKUP is used to check if a data file is in backup mode.

V$ DATAFILE_HEADER is used to check the header of a data file. Of course a datafile is BLURRED when the database is OPENED - independently of the question whether an online backup is running or has run earlier.

  • RE: Acer Backup Manager, C:Acer or Hitachi (Disk0)

which of the two C:Acer or Hitachi (Disk0) is, with regard to the reflection, is more relevant. Both are needed to fix a computer (in my case an Aspire V5-571). Thank you... Philippe

Acer C: is the operating system partition and programs.

Disk0 is the whole HARD disk.

Acer backup, was simply a backup of your files (single partition or entire HARD disk), so you can easily recover your files in case of a bad erase or anything else.

Acer erecovery is more important, because it will create a bootable media that will help you to reinstall your operating system, even if the HARD drive was missing.

It's your choice, but personally I would save the Acer C: (if your personal data is there) and make a recovery media.

  • Foglight 5.6.5 | Backup management

    Hello

We use foglight 5.6.5 we want to monitor backup devices. like availability, error, jobs, etc...

Please tell me, what is the name of cartridge that is supported for foglight 5.6.5?

    Thank you

    Christopher F

There is no cartridge 'out of the box' for this.

You can add in fact default monitoring features of Foglight with utility officials, one of them (logfilter) monitors especially newspapers and another (appmonitor) monitors the process http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/performance-monitoring/foglight-administrators/w/admins-wiki/5646.monitoring-application-availability-using-foglight-utility-agents.

Everything that has an existing script or a command line interface (shell, perl script, java script, etc.) can be monitored using a script agent (enough of wrapping this script and send the output to the Foglight Server).

  • The user managed based backup Rman backup cold cold vs

    Hi all

I just want to know the advantages and disadvantages for backup managed user cold and cold backup Rman.

What is the best cold backup?

    Some some can help me?

    Thank you

    Cedric Joshi

    Hello

Both are good only... If you took the clod backup (managed by the user), you can also do with RMAN catalog.

I feel clod RMAN backup is good.

    Reason:

    ======

++ with RMAN you can avoid used used block, you can only backup used blocks

++ RMAN has its own compression algorithm

++ We also have the ability to assign multiple channels to parallelize the backup

  • user managed backup and deferred tax rollback segments

    Hi Forum,

    Greetings of the day,

Here I have a question about segments of rollback backup and deferred users managed, I don't have much experience with the user managed backups taken by backup of BEGIN and END.

    1. how facilities oracle using the database so that it is saved each tablespace, he will use deferred rollback segments?

    2. placing the tablespace in backup mode is the same as read-only mode, on a technical level. So that it can read the blocks and changes made by the user can be moved to deferred rollback segments and later applied to tablespace, when it is the backup of the END?

3.AFAIK, will be created only to deferred rollback segments in the SYSTEM tablespace. So we need to keep an eye on the growth of the tablesace SYSTEM while the database/tablespace is backed by this method?

    4. when the tablespace is put out of backup by using the backup of the END , will be that it applied by the deferred rollback segments?

    5. where oracle will place deferred rollback segments, when tablesapce SYSTEM itself is implemented backup START ?

    6. DON'T face us any kind of failures during all backup /END START as full tablespace etc SYSTEM.

    Your answers will really helpful.

    Thank you

    Uday

Here I have a question about segments of rollback backup and deferred users managed, I don't have much experience with the user managed backups taken by backup of BEGIN and END.

    1. how facilities oracle using the database so that it is saved each tablespace, he will use deferred rollback segments?

In what context you mention the use of rollback differed with the backup segments maintained by users?

    2. placing the tablespace in backup mode is the same as read-only mode, on a technical level. So that it can read the blocks and changes made by the user can be moved to deferred rollback segments and later applied to tablespace, when it is the backup of the END?

Do you mean to say that when the tablespace is backed up, it is not accessible to the DML? If so, this is a wrong concept. Oracle did not go for the rollback segment (which I do not know how you are linking anways), but maintains the writing the image in full blocks for the first time in the log files of recovery following the normal writing changed buffers.

3.AFAIK, will be created only to deferred rollback segments in the SYSTEM tablespace. So we need to keep an eye on the growth of the tablesace SYSTEM while the database/tablespace is backed by this method?

Response above asked about segment deferred cancellation and their relationship, according to you, with the backup tablespace?

    4. when the tablespace is put out of backup by using the backup of the END , will be that it applied by the deferred rollback segments?

    5. where oracle will place deferred rollback segments, when tablesapce SYSTEM itself is implemented backup START ?

    6. DON'T face us any kind of failures during all backup /END START as full tablespace etc SYSTEM.

Seems that you don't really have an idea how the backups managed by users actually work. I'll suggest that you read about it first in the backup and restore documentation before entering in any event.

  • How can I download the backup on Mac and then restore it via iTunes?

The STRP to restore stuck on "remaining time: estimation...» "So I would like to download the backup on my Mac and then restore it via iTunes.

This can be caused by a corrupt existing backup that should be deleted, or data on the device that causes the backup fails.  To resolve these issues, try to clear your last backup (if you a) by disabling the iCloud backup in settings > iCloud > storage and backup, and then press on managing storage, type on your device under the backups, and then click Delete backup.  Then go back and turn iCloud backup and try to save again.

If it don't always make a backup, you may have an app or something in your camera roll which causes the backup fails.  To find one, go to settings > iCloud > storage and backup > manage storage, tap the name of your device under backups under tap Backup Options show all Apps, turn them all off (including film) and then try to save again.  If the backup was successful, then the camera or one of your applications is originally the backup fails and you must located by the process of elimination. Turn on the film and retry backup.  If it succeeds, some of your applications to turn on and try saving again.  If it succeeds once again, turn it back on a few apps more then try; Repeat this process until it fails.  Finally, you will be able to locate the app problem and exclude from your backup.

  • How to remove the iphone backup 5

I don't want to keep iPhone 5 backups. I set myself now iCloud not to backup my iphone when I plug in, but how do I delete an old backup, I created which can be on my computer rather than iCloud? I don't know, actually. I think that my iPhone has been saved just once before. And the backup actually on iCloud and on my computer as it would have been in the past?

Is always a good idea to keep a backup copy

That being said - you can have backups in iCloud and iTunes

The iCloud maximum return can be deleted by  - system preferences - iCloud - backup management

What about iTunes - if you're bent on deleting of backup - you can google for where the backup is stored on your computer and delete it

  • creating a bootable cd/dvd after creating a full backup of the system

After you create a full backup of the system through acer backup manager, I wonder if I want to create a bootable cd/dvd to restore the backup.

I madea a bootable dvd once already. Do I have to do a new bootable dvd every time I do a backup? If so, it's a lot of DVDs.

No, just one of the first time you perform a backup.

  • restore from backup image

    I have an Acer Aspire E1-571-6856, Windows 7 64 - bit, 4 GB RAM, 2.6 ghz core i5, 4000 hd graphics card

I have created a backup of the image using Acer Backup Manager.

There is no option to restore from Acer although backup recovery image.

How can I restore backup images?

I don't think that you can load your restore with Acer erecovery media point, since normally is used to re - install from scratch the BONE.

You must create your own media recovery with the same software that you created in the backup image, which will no doubt help to load the backup image.

  • Backup utility Windows 7 application ' are you sure you want to remove the most recent data from the backup file "even if I'm trying to remove the backup set is not the most recent.

I'm trying to reduce the amount of space that my Windows 7 backup uses so I've come to the place in Windows 7 backup:
    Manage space > view backups...

I am then presented a list of three backup sets:
    01/03/2012 to 01/04/2012
    12/07/2011 to 12/21/2011
    23/11/2011 to 30/11/2011

I would like to remove the older two, leaving the most recent. However, this doesn't seem to work as expected. If I try to delete one of the two most recent ones (the first two in the list above) I get the following warning "Are you sure you want to delete this backup file.

However, if I try to delete the last one in the list, I get a slightly different error "Are you sure you want to remove the most recent data of the file backup?"-sounds strange because it is clearly not the most recent backup according to the dates it's show.

Of course, I can go ahead and ignore the warnings, but I fear that maybe there are some files in the last backup the value in the list that may not be right more recent set backs.

In 2011, I thought this might be something wrong with the date formats vs US UK (I am in England so the above dates are in dd/mm/yyyy format and not in jj/mm/aaaa) - but now it's 2012 and I backup from 2012 and 2011 games and he always seems to think that the oldest backup of 2011 is the most recent.

Any ideas? Can I delete the oldest backup sets (that is, the two that are from 2011) safely?

Any help much appreciated - thank you.

    Simon

Update: I checked on other PCs in the office and the situation is the same - is not only something strange on a PC.
