  Before the introduction of LR3, I worked regularly images in a Smart Collection. then I dragged the selected images in a regular Collection for final treatment. I've now upgraded to LR3.2. After the move, the 'Smart' key word has been changed, automatically eliminating the image of the Smart Collection. Now, LR3, I seem not to be able to do that, can't find any permutation of the shift, Alt, or Ctrl keys. In fact I can't 'drag & drop' images of library in any Collection! Why Adobe has removed such a simple but useful device without apparent alternatives available? Has anyone found a simple way to do this?

  I don't think that Adobe has changed anything here. Unfortunately, little has been done with the collections and smart collections between versions 2 and 3.

  My guess is that you drag the box around the thumbnail. Make sure that you drag the thumbnail itself.

  All CS 6 video editing videos show how to cut the ends on a video, but they do not show how to cut an image within the video sequence. I would also like to copy a series of images from a video and insert them at a point in the middle of another video.

  Could someone direct me to a tutorial or writeup do which includes cutting and insertion of frames of video editing?

  As C.Pfaffenbichler, the Clip on the Timeline is only a representation of the 'primary' element and calls an Instance of this Clip. What you see on the timeline is just a series of proxies, data copied to the imported video. Other than the display on the Timeline, they really exist anywhere. It isn't that we export the timeline, that the program follows the links to the original files 'msaster' and extracts the data shown on the Timeline, to transcode the exported files.

  Now, as he also noted, you can have a number any of these Instances, and they can be changed through their In and Out Points, to display different parts of this original file, as many different times, as needed.

  If you click on + drag on the tail of a Clip, you change it actually the Exit Point. If you click on + drag on the head, you effectively change the In Point.

  Hello my name is Cris and I try to record images 8-bit generated from a Smart Camera NI 1742, which has a frame rate up to 60 images per second. I want pictures of flow time I need and save each image. I've currently implemented the next VI I found in this article: Images streaming of a Vision Compact to a local AVI system , one of my goals was the next, can save an AVI file and now I can do it. According to this article on the screws flattens the images for data of type string, and sends the data to the local computer (PC) through TCP/IP communication (because data can be stored inside the smart camera).  Then, the Local.vi (shown in the figure), on the computer local Windows, receives the string data, it unflattens back to images and records the images in an AVI file. So my question is how can I proceed to receives the string data and save it directly to files with names like 0001.jpg 0002.jpg, etc., automatically instead of using framework for writing to AVI?. I think to use the IMAQ write string that returns a string that contains the entire contents of the image encoded as an image file and the string can be saved to the file (without unflatten it). How can I change the Local.vi?

  FWIW... this task is easier to do than to explain.

  (1) connect the camera via a USB cable and turn it on... or insert the memory card in
  your Media Player.

  (2) go to... Start / my computer... your camera should be attached to a drive letter.
  The reader should be recognized as one or several removable disks... it can
  have several drive letters.

  Left 3) click on drive letters... When you identify the drive letter for the camera or

• How can I display a series of images in the same picture frame?

  I am a user of mid-level and recently saw a feature on a website that I would like to incorporate into my own creations. I am looking for a teaching link explaining this process. There is a picture on a published web site. For the right side and left side of the main image are two small pictures: a "triangle forward" and an "inverted triangle". When you click on the triangle before image main change to image #2, and again to the #3 image. By clicking on the left side "inverted triangle" brings the user to #2 image, then the image #1. All the main images are located within the same frame, it's just that you can click back through a series of images half a dozen. It seems easy, but I can't find the right instructions. Can anyone suggest a link or two? Thank you!

  In Fireworks, choose file > open. Navigate to the folder where the series of images is stored. Press SHIFT and click on the images to select. Check the open as an Animation box at the bottom of the open dialog window and then click the Open button. Your series of images is automatically loaded in the States, ready to optimize and export as a GIF animation.

  Since the images are JPEG, you can experiment with the animation in Flash (SWF) format export. To do this, choose file > save as. In the dialog, give a name to the file. To save a copy as, choose Adobe Flash SWF. Click the Options button to open the SWF Export Options dialog. Once you are finished, click Save. Ta Da! :-)

  You can actually set the same preference under the covers that you would use on Firefox for desktop PC: permissions.default.image. Here's where and how:

  (1) open a new tab to Subject: config (type about: config the Awesomebar and hit the arrow go or tap Enter).

  You can bookmark it for easy future access.

  (2) in the search box, type perm and make a pause while Firefox filter list

  3 scroll to permissions.default.image and type it, and then use the up arrow (^) to change the value from 1 to 2 (of 'allow all' on ' block all the ').

  If you go back to your other tab and load a new page, the images must be missing (assuming that they are not cached).

  Success?

  If there is an add-on for it (I have not checked) that might be easier if you find a site where you want the images because it is a hassle to switch back using about: config.

• Restored HD from a Time Machine backup of my old iMac (stolen) from my new MacBook Pro.  Not all the files have been restored.

  My iMac 27 "(2011) so my wife 13 '' MacBook Pro (2011) were recently stolen after our House was robbed.  My wife got a new MacBook Pro and I restored it successfully its data (selected "backup restore Time Machine" during the installation of its new MacBook Pro).  However, I also got a new 15 "MacBook Pro in lieu of the iMac 27".  I have, once again, selected "Restore from Time Machine backup" (selected the iMac as the backup source) when installing my new MacBook Pro.  When it was finally over, I told Time Machine to inherit from the backup.  Unfortunately, none of the files in the My Documents folder or the photos in my photo library have been restored.  Was it a bad idea to try to use the backup of the iMac as a source for the MacBook Pro (both running El Capitan)?

  is it possible that your documents are stored on another drive which was not part of the backup plan? or is the HD in the big enough MBP to inherent the old backup.
