  • Restore a specific full backup of data file to a new location

    Hello

    I have a test instance (10.2.0.4). I took a full backup of the database and has fallen to a data file.

    Now, I created an auxiliary Instance where I restored the controlfile since the full backup to help:

    RMAN > run {}
    up to the time "to_date('2011-03-16:15:09:00','yyyy-mm-dd:hh24:mi:ss')";
    Restore controlfile to ' / home/rtest/aux/control01.ctl';
    }

    Now, what is the procedure to restore the deleted data file in ' / home/rtest/aux/***.dbf';

    Help, please.

    Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards.

    You can 'Transport' the Tablespace containing the datafile after completing the Point in time of recovery on the auxiliary.

    All data in the tablespace must be made up - for example, you can't FKs referencing tables in other storage spaces.

  • Failed to backup all data files

    Hello
    I registered my DB goal in the catalog DB.
    Then when I checked the rman DF table I could see only 6 data files while I have 7 data files.
    Here, I could see my temp datafile.

    total - system, tools, WITH data files, rbs, HLCC_LOB. Temp Index
    DAT saved are EQUIPPED, HLCC_LOB, tools, rbs, system, Index

    can one explain why it's happening like this, and how can I ackup my temp folder

    Tablespace TEMP is not saved. They are not necessary for recovery. Since the 10g, temporary datafiles will be recreated by RMAN during recovery of the database, otherwise, you can re-create the temporary file yourself.

  • It's safe I have delete my backup of data files? -Help-

    I am running a windows 7 Ultimate and I was just wondering if it is safe to delete my backup file because it takes a huge amount of space. And data backup files continue to grow and more and more, they can take a huge amount of space! With mine it reached 71 Go all of a sudden and I really who has not noticed until that moment!

    There is an option called view backups and when I open it, it shows me the backup file that contains a Go Go 71! and when I clicked once, he asks me if I want to remove it. So please help me guys, I'm really confused... is it safe?

    It's just like that...

    I said that your backup doesn't seem to work correctly because the image of your backup you posted above does not appear weekly backups and there is no way you have 71.5GBs data unless you have a lot of photographs and others.  Try your backup again and see what happens.  You can experiment as well now that you have removed your old backup. It won't matter if you delete again at this stage. It's only further down the road if you lose some of your data and you need to restore the lost data backup is useless. Let me know how you get on if you wish.  See you soon

  • RMAN change the backup of data files directory

    Hi all!

    I have question for RMAN. My backups keep in fast_recovery_area (/ opt/oracle/fast_recovery_area). I want to change the path of my fast_recovery_area to another location. I've changed that through SQL more command: ALTER SYSTEM SET DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST = ' / opt/oracle/backup ' SCOPE = BOTH SID ='* ';

    Now, my fast_recovery_area is in this path/opt/oracle/backup. In the fast_recovery_area, I have 4 folders (archivelog, autobackup, backupset datafile). All folder is created in the new location and RMAN write successfully the file on the new location except a single file (datafile). How can I change this option for this folder that writes to the new location. P.S datafile directroy have * dbf files backed up nightly.

    Thank you!

    You use an incremental update strategy of backup.  The level 1 backup is always aware of the 'previous' 0 level backup in the old location, so it is not a fee L0 backup in the new location.  You can remove the old backup, run a BACKUP DUPLICATION and OVERLAPPING COPY OF DATABASE for Oracle to be aware that the L0 backup no longer exists.  Then, run a fresh backup for Oracle create a new backup of L0.

  • Computer crash update to OS 10.6 / funny backup of data & files

    Hello.  My OS 10.4.11 macmini crashed.  I had saved web data.  I installed Dreamweaver 8 on a new MacBook Pro OS 10.6 and transferred the data an expternal hardrive.  When I used my finder to try to open the local/html it opens the actual web page not the Dreamwearver window.  The icons in my Dreamweaver Finder file do not have the small icon "D"; Instead, they have what looks a bit like a Quiktime icon, square with a blue graph in its Center (very small and difficult to distinguish).  My site works perfectly. so I think the correct data is there somewhere and I can reset up my local and remote files so I can get back to work (local and remote files are not set right, no more). The Dreamweaver has opened, but the file pages were not good; local and remote of were files ' visible nt.  If my site (www.scorby.com) still works fine, I think that this is not a lost cause.

    Can someone help me please?

    Click on any of the html files, and then click file > read

    In the Info window, open the sign that says open with

    Choose DW8 as the application to open it and then click all change

    You may be prompted for a password for the user, but the DW8 will be set as the default application for html files.

    You may need to restart for the icons to return to document DW icons, but they should open right.

  • Retrieve a data file from a backup on another server

    Hi all

    I usually take backup hot data files to a different like that server because I don't have enough space in the same server. I have

    SQL > alter tablespace XXXX begin backup;
    SCP/bu1/oradaTA/XXXXX/XXXXX host [email protected]: / db1dw/oradata/backup/dec2010/XXXX
    alter tablespace end OPS backup;

    If I want to recover the datafile can I normally do the drop offline from the data file and copy the backup data file that is located in differnet thorugh scp server and check the online data file? and the database is in archivelog mode, but I dislike abt log files. I just need to recover the data file as the last backup.
    or do we have to use all the controls recover datafile? If need to use everything recover datafile command go where it will recover the data file?

    I have not any backup or restore script, I just manually PCs from data files.

    Help please, thanks in advance...

    It is a ' user backups managed by "in the terminology of the Oracle.
    The database does not care how you copy (backup or restore) the data file from a backup location. So, you can use scp to copy the backup to the backup file.
    HOWEVER , you can recover only a datafile to the single point of the backup. Given that the rest of the database (i.e. all the other data files) have advanced further, you must RETRIEVE the DATA file and apply all ArchiveLogs since this backup of data file point to the current point (i.e. recovery would be until it again online that would apply automatically).
    Therefore, if you have had the "transactions" (e.g. deletions) against this tablespace, they will be replayed.

  • Problems with duplicate DATA when the data file was added after the backup completes

    Hello

    I am facing a problem when running of duplicate database with the command of database duplicate RMAN on a 10 g database. If I have the duplication from a full backup that is missing a data file that has been added to the database after the full backup of preforms, I get the following error message:
    Starting restore at 10-10-2009 18:00:38

    released channel: t1
    released channel: t2
    RMAN-00571: ===========================================================

    RMAN-03015: error occurred in stored script Memory Script
    RMAN-06026: some targets not found - aborting restore
    RMAN-06100: no channel to restore a backup or copy of datafile 43
    Redo log which was Pond at the time of the creation of 43 of the data file is also available in the backups. It seems that RMAN cannot use the log information archived redo to restore the content of the data file 43. I guess that because failure is already reported in the RESTORATION and not in the RECOVERY phase, so again the archived logs are not available yet. I get the same message even if I do another backup of the data file 43 (so a backup that is not in the same backupset as the backup to all the other data files).
    The script, the command duplicate product, I guess that RMAN reads the contents of the source database controlfile and trying to get a backup that contains all the data files to restore the database Assistant - if such a backup is not found, it fails.

    Of course, if I try to perform a restore/recovery of the source database, it works without problem:
    RMAN> restore database;

    Starting restore at 13.10.09
    using target database control file instead of recovery catalog
    allocated channel: ORA_DISK_1
    channel ORA_DISK_1: sid=156 devtype=DISK

    creating datafile fno=43 name=F:\ORA10\ORADATA\SOVDEV\SOMEDATAFILE01.DBF
    channel ORA_DISK_1: starting datafile backupset restore
    channel ORA_DISK_1: specifying datafile(s) to restore from backup set
    restoring datafile 00001 to F:\ORA10\ORADATA\SOVDEV\SYSTEM01.DBF
    .....
    The 43 data file is re-created and then redo is applied to the course.

    So, does anyone know if the duplicate database can use archived redo logs to recreate the contents of a data file, as does a normal restore/recovery? If this is the case, then it is necessary to perform a full backup before each duplicated if a data file has been added after such a backup database.

    Thanks in advance for any answers.

    Kind regards
    Swear

    Hi swear,.

    I got exactly the same problem during replication.
    Because we backup archive logs every 6 hours with rman, I added an additional block of running this script.
    run
    {
    backup incremental level 0
    format "% d_ % s_ %%t p_ bk_ '.
    filesperset 4
    database not saved;
    }

    (I also hit a bug in the catalogue which was resolved by patching up the dbs catalog 11.1.0.6, 11.1.0.7 for.)

    This will restrict the data not making file not part of any backup rman 6 hours while jumping for which there is already a backup of data files.

    Kind regards

  • Windows 7 backup the .pst file

    I am using windows 7 backup and restore files from backup on a portable drive external usb. When I look in the files*.zip of backup, I don't find my local Outlook .pst file. Backup and restore tell me that this file was skipped. Why this file should be excluded from the backup? What is the size of the 5 GB .pst file?

    You need to do a small amount of work at home in order to determine the current settings on your machine. If you let Windows choose what should be saved and then the user AppData folder is included in the backup:
    Let Windows choose

    If you let Windows choose what is backed up, the following items are included in your backup:

    Data files that are saved in libraries, on the desktop and by default to the Windows folders for all people with a user account on the computer.

    Notes

    • Only local files in libraries are included in the backup. If you have files in a library that are saved on a drive located on a different computer on a network, on the Internet, on the same drive that you are saving the backup on, or on a drive that is not formatted using the NTFS file system, they are not included in the backup.

    • The default Windows folders include AppData, Contacts, desktop, downloads, Favorites, links, saved parties and searches.

    If you have made your choice, then you go and do control the folders that you have included in your choice:

    Since there is no brand graduation against my AppData folder, it will not be saved.

  • When I back up my data files, I want to understand my favorites. Which folders and/or files should I include in my backup routine?

    Under Windows XP. With the help of "ntbackup" to do the job. All software is located in C:, all my data files are on a second physical drive E:.

    Firefox stores the bookmarks and the browser history in places.sqlite and either use a HTML file or creates a backup of the HTML for the bookmarks.

    There are 10 daily rotating backups of JSON in the bookmarkbackups folder in the Firefox profile folder, one for each day when Firefox is started.

    You can make Firefox create an automatic HTML (bookmarks.html) backup when you exit Firefox, if you set the pref to true on the subject browser.bookmarks.autoExportHTML: page config you can open via the address bar.

  • "Backup and restore" in Windows 7 saves nothing, except the data files?

    I want to save my 'Favorites' of internet list, messages stored in Live mail and my address book in Live mail.  It seems that the "Backup and restore" function in Windows 7 saves only data files unless you choose the option of system image, and then it is not yet clear and seems to save much larger files that I could put on a DVD.

    Can someone direct me to information on this topic or suggest a better method of simple backup.

    By default, Windows 7 saving files in libraries and folders for all users.  That includes everything in your user folder: data applications, contacts, desktop, downloads, Favorites, music, photos, documents, etc..  Windows Live Mail stores messages in the application data folder, so they are automatically backed up.

    The system image contains everything on your computer.

    Both types of backup can create more data that a DVD can hold.  I recommend that you get an external drive for backups. Owner, Boulder computer Maven

  • Roll forward standby database with the incremental backup, when a data file is deleted in primary education

    Hello

    I'm nologging operations + deleting some files in the primary and you want to roll forward the day before using the incremental backup Yvert.

    I do in particular, as the files are dropped?

    I got to meet ( Doc ID 1531031.1 ) which explains how to roll forward when a data file is added.

    Can someone please clarify?

    Thank you

    I was wondering if reocover noredo is performed before restored controlfile, oracle will apply the incremental backup error-free files, and in this case, what would be the status of the data file in the control file.

    Why do you consider to retrieve the day before first and then in the restaurant of the controlfile will lead to problems. Please read my first post on this thread - I had clearly mentioned that you would not face problems if you go with the method of deployment.
