Backup of enabling technology does not

I have an old but reliable desktop Acer M1640 running Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit.

I encountered a problem with Empowering technology backup. When I hover over the icon backup it says "there is no backup", but I know that there are several backups. When I look in the D: drive I see EGIS road, pFiles and erData. erData contains an erUBK folder containing images with a lot of files.

When I click on icon backup the backup list showns no files backup and when I try to select full backup this icon is grayed out and not selectable. So I can't make a full House or a quick backup.

Something in the backup software seem to have gotten messed up somewhere, but I can't understand it. I don't want to remove one of the images that seem to consist (from date) a full backup and an attempt (I assume not successful) quickly back up. Four facilities PSD, managing settings, backup and optimization Express, it's really only the last that I use.

I contacted Acer but don't expect an answer as soon as I'm out of warranty.

Anyone has any ideas about how to restore backup facility?

just to let anyone who cares there in Acerland or to help a poor struggler like me, I will update the results of my work.

I used Regedit (be careful with this) as follows and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, then Software, then ACER eData Security.

When I arrived I changed the values as follows the Type NAME value my action

AB (DEfault) RegSZ (value not set) no

AB bEnable flag RegSZ 1 Rt click on change the value to 0

AB bFirst Setup RegSZ 1 Rt click on change the value to 0

After that when I tried to open the backup AND the soft keys are available, it worked and I could do a full backup and subsequent fast/incremental back ups.

If Acer had only me headed in this direction, then I'd be a happier customer.

    However, when you install all the drivers and the Intel Rapid Storage Technology software, I see that only rge WHAT HDD is used and no partition SSD with the Intel RST.

    How we enable this?
    The problem is that the performance is incredibly bad.
    Laptops are very slow, even if the specifications are good:
    CPU i5-4200U
    8 GB RAM
    Windows 7 x 64

    No idea how to turn this Intel RST?
    In the BIOS I find no option for RAID, as must be enabled for the RST to work.

    To be honest I n don't know what you mean exactly the RAID mode. There is no RAID mode.
    The laptop was equipped with a 500 GB SATA HDD HYBRID.

    The part of the HARD drive is used for writing, the SSD part for the reading of the data.
    The performance of SSHD can be placed between a HDD and SSD, but it s significantly slower than an SSD.

    If you have already installed the - Intel Rapid Storage Manager driver, then the service should work

    In the case where it does not run in the background, try to install the latest Intel RST page of Intel driver.

  • Backup Restore Time Machine does not see RAID external drive

    Hi all

    I have a problem with my iMac restore from a Time Machine backup, and I was wondering if anyone else had the same problem already.

    I had to reinstall OS X El Capitan from scratch, based on education, I received Support from Apple. That worked without problems and my iMac works fine. However, I wanted to restore it to how it was before, using Time Machine. I keep my backups on a LaCie 5big Thunderbolt 2 and never had any problems with it.

    To restore the system, I followed the instructions on the Support page. I restarted my system in recovery mode and selected the "restore from Time Machine backup". Unfortunately the LaCie 5big does not appear on the list of drives, so I'm stuck... When you use the system in normal mode, the external RAID is visible and Time Machine stores backups on it without any problem.

    Any of you are familiar with this problem? I would be very grateful if you could help me with this problem!

    -While the system is booted in recovery mode, confirm that the Lacie 5big network is visible in disk utility.   You will need to disconnect / reconnect the Thunderbolt cable to the Lacie 5big be detected.

    -Once seen, a new attempt to restore from Time Machine backup.

  • Search suggestions is enabled but does not work?

    The search bar in the "Awesome bar" has recently ceased to offer suggestions from research or from my search history Google itself. When I control-click in the search bar, "search suggestions" has a check mark next to it, and it is also checked in the preferences.

    I have re-set network.http.speculative - parallel-limit to 0 and then put in 6 and 10, with no difference. Restart the browser makes no difference.

    I had problems with Javascript it just seems to stop functioning after the browser has been running for awhile on updates several last, affecting things like comment on some sites, menus based on Java doesn't work, etc, but I don't know if that would be linked to this problem. A reboot does not fix things in this case, at least not today.

    Try to clear cookies from Google.

    Do you have any suggestions if you type in the address bar or do you find no in the drop-down list at all?

    Have you checked the prefs to browser.urlbar to see if any are user defined (in bold)?

  • backup external hard drive does not not to 8.1

    Updated to 8.1 and now my external Iomega hard drive (for weekly backup) now does not work. He appears in the "devices", but then backup will not recognize it as a valid to continue my backup option. Suggestions please?

    Please refer to the how to Geek article.

    8.1 win can't stand a GUI for the backup files or imaging system. You have to use powershell or Win 8.1 reset/refresh options.

    You can also create custom refresh images. See this article. The instructions also work with Win 8.1.

    You will need to use third-party backup to back up files and folders.

    Technology mandatory sharing does not install and I quit the installation of PSE12. If I continue, just uninstall it.

    I read that it takes a 4 digit code to add the serial number to make the installation as needed. Or do I have?

  • Incremental backup PES 9 catalog does not

    I tried to do an incremental backup of my catalog and it did not work.

    Recovery I did a full backup and everything was ok. Today, I tried to do an incremental backup and theoretically he finished ok but when I looked at the folder where the backup was recorded, the size is the same and the number of cases neither.

    Until the record was 100 GB and 15529 files. 163 files have been added and after the differential backkup finished size and the number of files remained the same.

    PES 9 displays no error message.

    Someone has an idea to solve this?

    I think you are right in the meantime the Organizer to guide you and ask you to create a new folder. However, people still use DVD or CD as well as other drives, internal or external. And to achieve good backups, you must first understand what a catalog: a folder that contains the database and associated files and subdirectories. It is difficult to explain the backup stream if you do not understand how catalogs and backup are stored. The choice to create a new folder somewhere on a DVD or an external drive can hardly be suggested by a default setting in the Organizer...

    I gave up using incremental backups, mainly because I can't find them no faster than full backups, and I find them less reliable.

    I just bought and installed 10 items.  The Catalog backup does not work.  It gives me an error message "error encountered when writing or files.

    I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software.   My catalog is only a small number of pictures from my pictures. I use Windows 7 pro 64-bit.

    I have a scenario in which I need to keep some duplicates in a table. I want to create a Unique key on this column, but double existing records should be ignored. I tried to ENABLE NOVALIDATE. But it does not work. Is there a workaround for this without deleting duplicate records?

    You can apply keys using nonunique indexes too. That seems to work in your case.

  • Service of Intel RST (Rapid storage technology) does not work. Windows 7.

    Win 7 was incredibly slow, MSCONFIG helped me to manually stop several applications that run in the background and it's OK now. But now I have a different problem. Intel RST service does not work. I tried MSCONFIG where it shows as stopped. Can anyone help please?

    Please provide a copy of your system information file. Type system information in the search box above the Start button and press ENTER. Select file, Export and give the file a name noting where it is located. The system creates a new information file system each time system information is available. You must allow a minute or two before the file is completely filled before exporting a copy. Please download your disk from sky to share with everyone and post a link here. Please say if the report was obtained in safe mode.

    To access the system log, select Start, Control Panel, administrative tools, Event Viewer, in the list on the left of the window select Windows and the system logs. Place the cursor on the system, select the Action in the Menu and record all events (the file default evtx type) and give a name to the file. Do the same for the application log. Don't provide filtered files.

  • Accidentally moved Prog. backup files - now LR does not start

    After an email warned me that OneDrive ended their (mostly) unlimited backup, I bought an external hard drive of 3 t. Somehow while moving the files from my OneDrive I cut-and-paste all files Lightroom program on the hard drive and removed from my office. I tried to "undo" it is by copying the files back, but when I click on the program of LR that does nothing now other a 'loading' slider that disappears as quickly as it seems. I can't seem to find answers through Google, so I hope someone here has made a stupid mistake like that, other than me. I literally just bought this program after that my computer crashed and I lost LR3. Help.

    Have you tried to reinstall LR?

    Move LR program files, that would be very difficult to do what they are in the Applications folder, on a Mac, or the Program files from drive C, Windows and that it has nothing to do with your original folder a drive would not remove your catalog or in the folder LR Previews file. It would also not move or delete the user preferences or presets.

    Then reinstall the program would be all right and all you have to do is open your existing LR catalog file. It of if LR did not automatically see and open the original catalog on its own file.

  • First Pro CC automatic backup doesn't work does not correctly

    I've seen this discussion before, but have not found all the other answers that "you must manually saved all along.  Of course, Yes, I do this and it obviously helps.

    BUT it is a function in the program that is not working properly and can cost serious people.  I have several projects where I work and have interrupted by the automatic backup feature, but when I search the files it will create, they are not found.  Not in the same folder as my project, not in an Adobe first Pro Auto-Save folder and cannot locate it anywhere on the hard drive.  Just to clarify, I want to save local talk, not the cloud option.

    My question is twofold.  First of all, others seem to feel the same, but I have not seen Adobe weigh or recognize this bug.  And two, if there is a difficulty, I think it would be much more sensible to save your automatic backup on a different drive files so that if your primary drive fails, you can withdraw the last Autosave and continue.  So the possibility of designating where will your automatic backup files would be useful.  Does make sense for someone else?

    My apologies if this has not been formatted well, or I should have answered in another thread.  This is my first post.

    Pouvez choose you where go the automatic backup of the files:

    File > project settings > disks work

    Go there and you should see where the Auto stores are, and you can change the location.

    The AutoSave feature has always been flaky, but it seems to work fine for me in the last version of CC.

  • Barracuda Backup - changed block tracking does not properly

    What is going on:

    In a Word. I am trying to solve a problem with a backup of Barracuda and the block change tracking.  It happened from the server (as well as the Barracuda 190) has been installed long ago.


    Long story short. With CBT activated (changed block Tracking) Barracuda is supposed only to save "disk blocks has changed."  She doesn't at the level of virtualization, no comments. In my case, it's back up about 124 GB every night. (2-3 hours of the device), and then from 10 to 12 hours to move to the cloud.


    MY SYSTEM:

    There is only 1 VM (comments) on the host computer. The two drives on the computer virtual (comments) are a 60 GB drive OS (SBS Server Essentials of 2012) and 100 GB data disc.  Both have 33 GB used on each of them (66GB total).  Changed nightly expected data should be an absolute maximum of 6-8 GB each night much less commonly.

    Nothing about the host OR virtual machine (guest) server is added to the 124 to 128 GB that says Barracuda is saved.


    HOW CAN I KNOW IT IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY? :

    I have two other systems in separate buildings that work as expected. So, I have an A, B, C comparison.  A and B are working properly. C is not.   They are all the same hardware platform HP ML350p Gen8. They are all configured as except for the sizes and quantities of drives in the RAID 5 group. They are all ESXi if the one in question is on 5.1.0, and the other two are on 5.5.0.


    Not that it matters, but the guests on these systems are: host a system has a brand new 2012 R2 STD Server .  B host has a system "autonomous converted" SBS 2011 .  C host system has a new 2012 Essentials server.


    WHAT DID I TRY? :

    I made sure all the settings in the settings have CBT enabled and set to true.  I tried to re - set up a new selection of backup within the Barracuda 190. I made contact with technicians Barracuda of 1st and 2nd level support on several occasions. Initially, they said it was a problem of snapshot.  I looked the better shots I knew how (I'm a noob, but I got some great info here about how to look at snapshots and VM running of stains from p_hall), then when they couldn't tell me where in the phase of snapshot, it was, they said 'it works as expected. , (and even if I have only 66 gb of disk space used on a total of 160 GB on reviews) "isn't really 125 GB backup every night. It just reports that it is.  Still my bandwidth says otherwise.   WHAT !!!!!!!!???????


    Finally, I took the well-known Barracuda of the FD (from system B Barracuda) and put it on the DP (in lieu of system C Barracuda) for a few nights.  He behaved exactly like original C system Barracuda. He supported 128 and about 147 GB the first night the next two nights.


    See attachment for samples of the reports at the end of last year backup 3 systems. Yes, they are older, but the results are the same.


    Any suggestions on how to fix this?  Thank you.


    I want to mention that my problem is now solved. Still using CBT, my nightly backups are more in line with what is, was expected.  Instead of backup 128 GB EVERY night (I still don't know whence the figure), I support anywhere from 3 to 15 GB per night.  A difference.

    The problem has been resolved with a simple upgrade to ESXi 5.1 to 5.5 upd 2.  No other changes made.

    Wouldn't be an accurate assumption that unlike VM KB 1020128 that CBT is, in fact, NOT compatible with the ESXi5.1?

    I'll be the first to admit that VMWare is not my forte.  That said, I'm rather discouraged that there no one answer to my post with suggestions.  I post in the wrong place. Poor choice of title/key words? It was poorly made? Unintelligible?

    According to me, that I was very thorough in my research on the issue.  I found this which mentions clearly the CBT is supported in ESXi 4 and more.

    I was diligent in troubleshooting up to the point where I pretty much dismissed everything except the host operating system.

    Not knowing how big the community is, I would think that there is someone out there with my exactly the same problem, or at least there was someone out there who was successfully in 5.1 ESXi with CBT on a system of Barracuda.

    I am open to any suggestion that may make future messages/questions to gather more responses.
