  Display your user folder by deleting a hidden file attribute can be set on the access property page when you right click on your user folder.  Let the net of new low for subfolders and files not hidden attribute when the option is available to you.

  If you are running XP/SP3, then you should have a backup of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin (or possibly the message store), copied as bak files.
   
  To restore a folder bak on the message store folder, first find the location of the message store.
   
  Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.
   
   
  In Windows XP, the .dbx files are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.
   
  
  Note: If you have new messages in the folder you are go restore, move them to a folder first created user, or they will be lost. They can be moved once the old posts have been restored.

  A general warning to help avoid this in the future:
   
  
  Do not archive mail in default OE folders. They finally are damaged. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.

It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages.   Recently, I myself in a dilemma. I installed 4 additional disks with the intention of creating a RAID volume supported by the BIOS. To do this, I need to change the BIOS setting of the controller which includes all the volumes, including my boot drive (that I don't intend to RAID). The problem I have is that when I pass the UEFI to RAID controller, Windows Recovery will not use the System Image I did. He said that the volume was created under a different arrangement (Bios vs. EFI).

  What are my options? Is there a different backup setting, which allows to keep all my installed software? I am not concerned with the data that I can copy it to an external volume, but it would take several days to get all of my software reinstalled. I would like to avoid this. I guess I'll have to reinstall Windows Pro 8.1 and then use a backup program to restore everything. If this is the case, then I need to know which backup program will work. If there is a better way, I would like to know. I see my options in the form, get another backup program, get a map of controller for the boot drive or the RAID volume or just reinstall.
